Overall, not bad. The intonation can use some improvement. Some pitch problems mostly in the strings, and higher brass. Some violins playing a little too loud over the expression markings, but overall not bad!

Batman! Dances With Wolves! Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves! It's not the best performance by a student orchestra. However, it pays homage to those great composers: Danny Elfman, John Barry, and Michael Kamen. Lastly, the performance celebrates the human spirit through the gift of film music.

The strings aren't very good, out of tune and sometimes out of syncrony...but the metals have saved the day, mainly in the robin hood part.

Anyway, good job, but it needs more training.

where did you got the sheet from (self-arranged) - the conductor should study the original batman theme a little closely in terms of coming to rhythm.

AND remember to practice - violins that sound like they are affaird of taking a chance about hitting the right note or not does not sound good - mark (flute player)

Brass is out of tune a ton in the Batman section. The strings get a little out of tune in the Batman where it switches to 3/4. Good trumpet solo on the Josh Dunbar Theme, but only the 1st half. Strings very good on most of Dunbar. Brass is a little out still. Cellos out of tune on triplet part after Dunbar. Brass still out. Work on intonation, everyone. Brass very nice on the last line! We played this at my high school. Blake High School...we have a myspace music profile for symphony

leave the intonation to the judges who are qualified to rate this orchestra. just because you're in the orchestra, and can play the violin, doesn't make you the judge.

Okay first of all I'm a violist, which I clearly said. Trust me, I know what this song sounds like played in tune and it's fairly easy (at least for me) to notice anything out of tune. Perfect pitch? Not quite, but my ears are getting a lot better. My high school is a preforming arts high school, not to brag, but honestly we are good. Sorry that you don't like me giving critique, I just thought it could've been better, sorry for my high expectations. While I'm not a judge, I know what I'm saying

YOu know, I don't see why people are saying this is a "not that good" or it was ok" grouup. First off, I'm from a high where we didn't even have an orchestra or instruemnts like the viola, and to top it, I bet no one would even remember most themes from the movies you guys were playing, I recognized the first one already (it's batman for those who don't know) I for one am definitely impressed, coming from a high school band that's a great performance.
