I have recently been doing some research on the Dorney Park PT Co #38 carousel and I was wondering if you have any pictures of the Dorney Park Gavioli organ or Carousel? Thanks!!
THANK YOU for the post. It really does have the sound of a Wurlitzer 157, but the Gavoli came first. A very nice sound instrument, sad though it is no longer with us. I'm hoping the Rocky Springs Dentzel and Gavoli will come back to life soon.
@Wurlitzer157 Please keep me posted on it. If you can send me a photo or better yet a video, that would awesome! Would LOVE to see and hear it!!!!! I'm koasterkav on Facebook.
Thanks for the post! It's obvious that this is where the Wurlitzer 157 came from - though in my opinion this organ has a more dignfied voicing than _most_ of the 157's that I've heard. I sure hope the one known remaining Gavioli of this model (with the Rocky Springs Park carousel in Pennsylvania) is restored to sound at least as good as this.
In fact, it should be taken completely apart and measured and plans drawn up as part of the restoration project, since it is historically significant!
Sounds a lot like a church pipe organ in this recording. I like it!

If it was to look like a 157, the 157 facade was to look like a gavioli.I think its not supposed to be a 157
