This Creatard Museum appeals to fundamentalists who only want easy answers to complex problems because they lack the capacity to comprehend these problems.
Why is there crime and domestic abuse? It's because the masses aren't religious enough.
Why is there war? It's because world leaders aren't religious enough.
Why accept creationism over evolution? Because evolution is a complex process that's too hard for me to understand, and god-done-it requires no critical thinking whatsoever.
Tooltime, my aunt lives very close to the CM, and we visit her twice a year. Recently I've thought about going to document everything so I can make a video response to its existence. Unfortunately my mother went there with her church, I think mom only went just to see my aunt. Anyway, I might try to bring her to reduce any scrutiny from staff, cause I'm scruffy with tattoos. What's the cost like? Were you confronted by staff trying to explain any of the exhibits?
@MrJohnnyrace I don't recall saying I believed... I was only quoting from the Book of Jubilees, another fairy tale that's held sacred by the Jews. But if anyone's going to quote the creation story and the big dude up in the sky, I figured they might at least try to get it right. Not believing doesn't mean you have to ignore the tales explaining our ancestry...
Personaly I find this whole story hillarious, but I didn't make it up..
There are good reasons why creationism fails every time when the idiots of various school boards try and push ID. Its called the Buy Bull for very good reasons.
Great vid, but they don't seem to explain that we are all descendants from Seth and Azura (Eve's 3rd son and 2nd daughter which she begat respectively at 130 and 136 years of age). For his part, Cain married his sister Awan before he killed Abel in a fit of anger over some sacrifice he had made to the Lord. Mathusalem was Noah grandaddy and all that crew lived well over 500 years of age before the flood, including Adam, Eve and all of their numerous children.
Great video, but as a weapons nerd I have to point out that the advances in artillery, particularly new high caliber rifled guns did most of the killing in world war 1. I think I read that somewhere. Airpower and gas did nothing in comparison.
Evilution.... ROFLMFAO!! I would be horrible coming to this place. Lots of awefully-controlled laughter, eye rolls, etc. LOL! There is a museum on Kauai that won't let you take any pictures or video either so people will visit instead of looking on the internet for the statues, masks, etc. Thanks for sharing, tooltime.
So Christians go to a creation museum and then claim that this is true. Now as I come from England, we don't have a problem with Evolution. Evolution is the truth. In this day and age,Christians really need to question the bible.
"I can understand why healthyaddict said she absolutely did not want to go back, after she had been four times." LMFAO! Why would someone do that? Is it a compulsion like cutting yourself?
@compgrad1 You use the results of science every day. Your car, your computer, modern health care. The same scientific process that developed the theory of evolution proved its existence years later. Remember the scientific method you used in school? Observation, hypothesis, experimentation, results, conclusion? Evolution came to be known through the same process. The same process we use to produce modern technology. So you see, it really is a great and wonderful thing. You use it every day.
@compgrad1 This only further proves that it is a vestigial organ in us. Somewhere in our evolution, we gained the ability to digest meat. Thus, we turned into omnivores, and we don't need plants exclusively to survive. So the function of a large caecum attached to an appendix became obsolete. And as I've already said, it plays a SMALL part in immunity. Not enough to really matter. So, indeed, the evolution of the human appendix is on its way out. It's only a matter of time.
@compgrad1 Those animals that still have a functional appendix attached to a large caecum in order to digest PLANTS still use theirs. But it is common knowledge that mankind cannot properly digest plant matter. Most of it leaves our bodies after we eat it. We don't get the maximum nutritional absorption as animals with large caecums who can process and break down plant matter. The appendix does NOT perform this function in us. It does not house the bacteria to digest leaves and grass.
@compgrad1 Why do you think that the functionality of an appendix within a rodent could in any way compare to functionality in humans. It's a good indication in some instances, but we are not herbivores, and our appendixes do not have the same function as one. The fact that this article stating that appendixes in fact appear in nature more often than we thought only attests to the accuracy of evolution. So many animals have a similar organ, and the function is different in them all.
@compgrad1 We are not rodents. We are not lemurs. Just because these creatures may have a fully or partially-functioning large caecum (which is not an appendix, by the way), that does not mean that our appendixes function in the same mannerer. Our entire bodies are connected to a lymphatic system, and that is what drives immunity. I repeat, the appendix is not vital to immunity. If we get rid of it, our bodies still function normally. It DOES NOT control the immune system. It plays a TINY part.
@compgrad1 Also, how would the amount of bacteria in a thumb-sized piece of the large intestine "repopulate" the rest of the intestine with good bacteria, when it is tens of times larger than the appendix? And how would that bacteria avoid being flushed out, as well? There isn't anything preventing intestinal bacteria from entering the appendix, too. Something is very OFF about this claim, and I would very much like to read into it further.
@compgrad1 "Researchers at Duke University Medical Center proposed that it actually serves a critical function. The appendix, they said, is a safe haven where good bacteria could hang out until they were needed to repopulate the gut after a nasty case of diarrhea, for example." Okay, they "proposed"? Well, where is the evidence for this claim? Where would this bacteria hang out, since diarrhea typically flushes the system completely when bad bacteria is present, including the appendix.
@compgrad I think you found that article, found one sentence that SORT OF supported your case, and linked me to it, without actually reading entirely what it says. Let alone what it means. It pokes fun at Darwin, but it doesn't completely discount his findings or his theories. It even states that Darwin's mistakes may have occurred because of LIMITED KNOWLEDGE in the 1800s at his disposal. Also, it NEVER STATES THAT THE APPENDIX IS A VITAL ORGAN IN HUMANS.
@compgrad1 "First, several living species, including certain lemurs, several rodents and a type of flying squirrel, still have an appendix attached to a large cecum which is used in digestion. Second, Parker says the appendix is actually quite widespread in nature" Wide-spread in nature does not mean functional, nor does it mean that it's a vital organ. Most male mammals have nipples. Non-functioning nipples. So should I think just because they're widespread, they are vital to survival?
@compgrad1 Also, your article still fails to realize that humans do not have a large caecum which which to digest food. That is an organ in herbivores, because a large caecum is necessary to digest plants. HUMANS DO NOT HAVE THIS. We have a thumb-sized appendix, but it's not developed to be useful, and in some people, it is lost due to surgical intervention and they are perfectly fine. I am one of these. As I stated before, I am fine, and have lost no amount of immune response because of it.
@compgrad1 Talk Origins states, "There is currently no evidence demonstrating that the appendix as a separate organ has a specific immune function in humans. All experimental studies of the function of an appendix (other than routine human appendectomies) have been exclusively rodents. Currently it is unclear whether the lymphoid tissue in the human appendix performs any specialized function apart from the much larger amount of lymphatic tissue already distributed throughout the gut.
@compgrad1 They also state, "Parker and colleagues found that the appendix has evolved at least twice, once among Australian marsupials and another time among rats, lemmings and other rodents, selected primates and humans." This indicates this article is in favor of evolution. Which you are clearly not. Why are you linking me to this again? To disprove one theory only to prove another? This doesn't help your case in any way.
@compgrad1 Also, your source of Science Daily doesn't say what you think it does. "Darwin had no way of knowing that the function of the appendix could be rendered obsolete by cultural changes that included widespread use of sewer systems and clean drinking water." This means that with modern sanitation, appendicitis is no longer the same kind of threat it used to be. Also, the article merely states many creatures have appendixes - they don't even describe if all these are functional.
@compgrad1 Farewell, squishy-brained one, because I'm done here. It should be obvious to anyone who reads this who the real lost soul is here. You never did address most of my other arguments, so I don't expect you will any time soon. That's okay. I've already made my points clear. You're outnumbered on this page, anyway, so maybe now you'll realize to keep yourself out of the kitchen, because you obviously can't handle the heat. Take fun!
@compgrad1 So go about your merry way. Find a Bible and get lost it in, because you are already so lost in life. You claim I am twisted and crude, but that's because I'm tired of your kind. But if anything, you are the twisted one, for remaining in the dark for so long. I encouraged you to think critically, and you just started insulting my own intelligence. I can admit to being a douche, it's what I do best, and then you get butthurt when I am. Then you do it right back. Hypocrite.
@compgrad1 And to top it off, you still provide no evidence for your God. None. Also, you have provided no evidence that evolution is false, when I have clearly given multiple sources that attest to its basis in reality. You are full of empty words and your own OPINIONS, but NONE of what you've said is anything but speculation. It is not FACT. You THINK God exists. You don't KNOW it. Knowledge is garnered through evidence and testing and what we can observe. NOT OPINIONS and SPECULATION.
@compgrad1 You keep poking fun at me, making arguments about a few grammatical mistakes here and there, when you yourself have spent most of this time completely ignoring even the most basic of proper usage rules. Then I call you out on it, yet you CONTINUE to mock me in that manner, even though the level of skill I have over you in this area should be fairly obvious to anyone reading. Start capitalizing proper nouns and the first words in sentences, and maybe THEN you can talk. Maybe then.
@compgrad1 You want to "just believe" in God because he says so? Well, I want you to "just believe" that Smurfs exist just because the television tells you so! The Cat in the Hat just because Dr. Suess tells you so! You are believing in something without evidence, even though it completely goes against human nature to do so. You don't believe in Smurfs, right? I would hope not. Following the same rational process, you shouldn't believe in God. He's just an imaginary friend in the sky.
@compgrad1 I may have a double degree, but I am not perfect. Even if I don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about science, I certainly know more than yourself. You've proven to me time and again that you have done absolutely NO research of your own. You see only what you want to see, and believe what others have told you just because you're too lazy to look beyond your God and through the window of reality.
@compgrad1 But I guess I'm just stupid, and should believe all this nonsense despite my better judgement that it's just a bunch of bollox. I should believe it, because the Bible tells me to. I suppose I should believe that a giant talking cat can exist, as well, simply because Dr. Suess tells me so. And I bet you still haven't read the Epic of Gilgamesh, have you? Exact. Same. Story. Only minor differences. The same dang story, stolen from the Babylonians, and plagiarized in the Bible.
@compgrad1 And even if all the animals WERE magically brought on board and survived the flood, the amount of inbreeding that would have occurred in order to repopulate the entire Earth would have killed off all species within a few dozen generations at most. Plus, no plant life could have survived the flood except aquatic ones, so unless Noah brought every species of plant on board, as well, the herbivores would have nothing to eat when the flood waters receded. Thus, neither would the predators
@compgrad1 Even if the many water-dwelling species were not brought on board, that still doesn't account for the time it would take to gather the animals, the amount of food needed to feed all of them, dividing predators from prey in order to keep them from eating each other, the disposal of tons and tons of waste from a ship big enough to be a New York city skyscraper, and the sheer improbability that a few people could live for hundreds of years and build the darn thing in the first place.
@CelestialWolven Celestial chick, I am actually finishing off over here. I am done. Your vocab and accusations, not to mention your twisting of my words have led me up to this decision.
@compgrad1 Here is a starting place, and also where much of my education comes from. These are textbooks I used in college, and I highly recommend them. "Biology, 7th or 8th Edition" by Cambell and Reece. "Ornithology" by Frank Gill. "Mammalogy: Adaptation, Diversity, Ecology" by Feldhammer et. al. "On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection" by Charles Darwin. "Molecular Cellular Biology" by Lodish. "Principles of Genetics" by Snustad. All can be found on Amazon.
@compgrad1 If I were you, I would just stop responding. You are either way out of your league, or acting this way on purpose. Either way, I am honestly getting tired of the blunt ignorance. You're not going to change your mind, right? Well, fine. I guess that would be hoping too much. But I'm sure you realize by now that you have a lot of learning to do before you can start arguing facts with someone like me. Because I have done my homework, and I am not afraid of sharing what I know.
@compgrad1 If I were you, I would just stop responding. You are either way out of your league, or acting this way on purpose. Either way, I am honestly getting tired of the blunt ignorance. @celestialwolven I think you just made your point when you said, "I don't care." You don't care that's why this is going nowhere. When you find a verse that seems to be contradictory or whatever, read 20/20. 20 verses before and 20 after. Then you wouldn't be saying stuff like you are nor listening to those websites that want to turn people away from God.
@compgrad1 I do exactly that. Which you would know, if you actually took the time to read the verses and compare them in the Bible. Which I have. Making excuses to not actually do the research is so unbecoming of someone claiming to have intelligence.
@compgrad1 I don't care about you specifically. But I do care that you are polluting peoples' minds with your religious blabber. Stop doing that, and we can both be happy.
@CelestialWolven I can't stop spreading the good news. Just because you don't want it, doesn't mean someone else won't want. You are free to do whatever you want with your life, but when it comes to my life, I can do what I want with it. And I choose to live it for Jesus Christ.
@compgrad1 Good news? You mean threatening people with their eternal souls (of which we also have no proof actually exists) burning in a fiery pit for all eternity if they don't think the same way you do? Yeah, that TOTALLY fits the definition of "good" that I'm familiar with. (rolls eyes). If I were FREE to do whatever I want with my life, you wouldn't be here preaching to me. And as long as you're spreading lies to others, people like me will be there to intercept them before they do damage.
@CelestialWolven Good news, it's better than your "survival of fittest" thingy...We don't threaten, you guys do... check out the protests at the Creation museum. I never claimed I'm good, (really rolling eyes). And I did not come preaching to you, you came to me and insulted my beliefs, so I had to refute you. So, you're saying you will be harassing me from now on? Wow.
@compgrad1 You started preaching, and I started challenging you about your beliefs. It's your own fault if you choose to be insulted. How is that my problem? Oh, and survival of the fittest and evolution are proven concepts. There is NOTHING you can do to disprove them, as I'm sure you've never even been to the Smithsonian or taken the time to study them in great detail, so you don't know what you're talking about anything. Case dismissed. You lose. Check and mate.
@compgrad1 There is nothing good about your message. Christianity and other religions have done more damage and set mankind back so far technologically and progressively than almost anything else I can think of. You try to force your morality on others in order to get what you want by influencing politics, government, and even women's rights. It is utterly despicable, and there is nothing GOOD or FAIR about it. Kids need to be taught how to think critically. Not follow an invisible sky daddy.
@CelestialWolven Actually, the atheists have done way more harm. Check out Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and the such. Dear, I'm not forcing my morality on others, I'm presenting. When was the last time you saw me telling me to knock it off and follow my ways. Never! I though you were a troll at first, but now I think you're kinda twisting my words too. Plus, if kids were taught to think critically, they would not put up with evolutionary ideas, would they now?
@compgrad1 Oh, give me a fucking break. Not only was Hitler a ROMAN CATHOLIC, but more people have died in religious wars over the course of human history than by any other source! Oh, I suppose the Crusades were just a walk in the park, I suppose? Not to mention the millions of people that were supposedly killed in God's name in the Bible alone! Don't make me laugh. Atheists never kill in the name of atheism. Stalin killed for political reasons, never because he didn't believe in God.
@celestialwolven If people reject our message, we go somewhere else. If noone cares, noone cares. Fairy tales are evolutionary ideas. like the spontaneous generation that you believe in. Voltaire said the same thing you just said, but it was about Christianity. He went out, Christianity grow even more.
@compgrad1 Then go! Go somewhere else! You're not wanted here! Look at that, a Christian calling evolution a fairy tale. Oh, the irony! Tis for to laugh!
@compgrad1 Keep spreading your "message" where it's not wanted. Most likely, no one will care anyway. Most people already know what they believe, so I doubt your stories and fairy tales about your god will do much to sway them. Anyone with half a brain can see past the fallacies of religion. Christianity, Islam, many other religions, are on their way out. We are in a new era of thinking and realizing that religion is obsolete. We don't need it. We make our own destinies. So nice try, but no.
@compgrad1 I was honestly surprised you even knew what a nucleotide was. But after your claim that no vestigial organs exist, and your extreme miscount of the genes in the human genome, I realized that you are not a credible source. I may copy and paste Bible verses (and yes, I DO know what the Septuagint is - it's the Greek translation of Hebrew texts) since it's easier than finding them in a book, but I have shown that I can hold my own with relevant evidence. You have done none of that.
@CelestialWolven I guess I know a few words...and I don't claim to have degrees, which I will let you wonder. Hold your own? I hope so, 'cause the stuff you're giving me right now, I was eating and answering you without having to do any work at all. And you're a double major!
@compgrad1 You weren't answering anything. You were just preaching to me and hoping that was enough. Well, it's not. You haven't provided any FACTS. None at all. Here's an idea. Give me some EXTRA-BIBLICAL evidence that your God exists, and I'll convert. How is that? Oh, that word too big for you? That means evidence OUTSIDE of the Bible. Because that's the only way you're going to convince me that God exists, and you'll stop looking like a fundie in the process.
@celestialwolven The Bible makes sense to me. You loathe and laugh at it because you're an atheist and you're hoping it's wrong. Simple. So, the Bible Creation account is negligible because of physical laws, but evolution is not, i.e. it doesn't defy any physic's laws? Ok... So, the sun being formed after the Earth evades laws, but the Big Bang and spontaneous generation doesn't? Wow, now that's critical thinking, to stay away from.
@celestialwolven Vegetation formed before the sun? So what? It was a six day creation, think kid! I've had plants in the dark for way longer than that and they didn't die out. It doesn't mean death to vegetation, plants are very resistant, unless you are talking long times. You are just spitting out phallacies after phallacies.
@compgrad1 Yes, you keep plants in the dark AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. No plant could survive out in the vacuum of space on an Earth without an atmosphere fueled by the heat of the sun! You can't imagine how cold it would be for those few days without the sun! Everything organic would freeze and die instantly! Are you kidding me? You really are an idiot! I'm not the one spitting out fallacies (yes, fallacies is spelled with an "f"), you are! You're thinking of "phallic". A penis. LMAO.
@celestialwolven And I want anyone reading this to know how much of a troll this person is. I mean, she believes evolution is possible but that Creation by a Loving God is not possible. And I'm trying to tell her (somehow 'cause she's stubborn) that she doesn't have to accept our faith. We're not forcing down her throat, she's open to choose. God doesn't need us, He Wants us. That's how loving He Is.
@compgrad1 If you knew how little the Bible makes sense, you would understand why I loathe and laugh at it. I could write an entire book on biblical fallacies and falsehoods. Even the order of creation stated in Genesis is physically impossible based on the laws of our planet and universe, and it's just extremely ridiculous. Earth was formed before the sun? Bull. Without the sun's gravity, it would have been pulled out into the vacuum of space and destroyed immediately after it's "creation."
@compgrad1 Vegetation being formed before there was even a sun to provide crucial light to plants? Let alone providing enough warmth to the Earth to keep the oceans from freezing in cold space? Separation of light and darkness comes on Day 3, when THERE IS NO SUN WITH WHICH TO PROVIDE LIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE until Day 4? There can be no light without the sun, no warmth without its rays. In the absence of heat and light, there is darkness and bitter cold. Again, NOTHING ABOUT THIS MAKES SENSE.
@compgrad1 I hope anyone reading this can see how ridiculous this person's faith is. If you want more information, and possibly other instances where the Bible either contradicts itself or implies the impossible can occur, please message me. I would be more than happy to provide unclouded, reliable sources that you can study further to come to your own conclusion about the Christian God, or any gods, for that matter. Don't take my word for it. Think for yourself!
@celestialwolven yes, it's a hindrance to salvation. You may pick a verse here and there and make a bad cult out of it, but you have to interpret the whole passage. You're an english degree person, you should know. Thesis, two supporting sentences, etc...etc.
@compgrad1 It's cut and dry! That's exactly what it says. I take the passages for what they were intended to say, not you're interpretation of what it means. Read it, understand it, or get the hell out.
@celestialwolven REgarding riches as a hindrance: it is if you depend on it to be saved. As for "no one is righteous" No one is righteous, except when he comes to God, God makes him/her righteous.
@compgrad1 That's not what the Bibe says. In one verse, it says riches are not a hindrance. In another, IT DOES. Read it. I don't care what YOU have to say, I care what the Bible has to say. It lays it out in black and white, and it is contradictory. I don't care about your interpretation, I care about what it actually says. And based on what it says, it is confused with itself.
My bad. I meant to say, in one verse it says they aren't a hindrance, and in another, it says they are. I don't care about what you think it means. I can read. I know what it means. Within the same book, even, it says two different things about so many topics. That is not consistent. That is not divinely inspired. That is nonsense.
@compgrad1 I've already done my research. Now it's your turn. There is so much you DON'T know, and you don't WANT to know, because it goes against your faith. Well I'm here to tell you, that knowing the FACTS and being able to form your own decision is far greater to your species than just following your preachers blindly. I implore you to look into the FACTS, instead of STORIES, and see what you can find. And use open eyes unclouded by Christian judgements.
@compgrad1 The only thing you've hit is the off switch to the logic button. Most of what I've said are in my own words. The only things I've pasted are Bible verses. Are you going to actually address the arguments, or will you just admit defeat now so I can get on with my life?
@compgrad1 The only thing I am copying and pasting are arguments that you will not listen to. The Bible verses are copied, because how else will you read them? Should I take the time to type them out? Would that be better for you? You're doing the same thing. Hypocrite.
@celestialwolven No... I'm speechless because you're twisting two completely different faiths. I am not in charge of making you believe. Jesus told us to go preach the good news. He never said go force people to believe. I'm not responsible to make you a Christian, just to inform.
@celestialwolven You are not well read in the Bible nor in Christian doctrine. Schizophrenia is not from God nor is any other diseases. We know that when Adam sinned, he gave up the world to the hands of satan and he is the one that caused problems. Sickness and death comes from a world that rejected God and is reaping the consequences. I am a born again Christian and am sick, but I know that it's part of living on this earth. No one is immune, but for the Christian it works for the good.
@celestialwolven You told me you would not give a sicken person two seconds, so it's logical you don't value life. nice to know you're a chick, I'm a dude, but everyone is the same to me. You telling me about my immortal soul? What kind of atheist are you? That's against you beliefs... Atheists think this life is it... don't they? Well, this is not just it.... There's life after death, you pick it... either eternal life with Jesus or eternal damnation for those that reject Jesus.
@troul478 Here's some scriptures to get you started on your quest to see whether the Bible claims to be God's Exclusive word. Please keep in mind there's way more. The first one, I heard today that's why I remembered, how cool's that?
2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
@compgrad1 I direct you to The Thinking Atheist's "Refuting the Bible" page. When you see how many mistakes and flaws the Bible actually contains, it is then easy to see how such a book could NOT have come from an all-knowing, perfect, omniscient creator, but rather a bunch of old men in the desert who had to come up with SOME way of making the stories believable during their time periods. thethinkingatheist (dot) com / page / bible-contradictions
@CelestialWolven I'm not directing you to any Christian apologetics website. In essence, you are telling me that you are lazy and can't back up what you are saying. It takes 2 to tango, so you want to tango, or want to throw in others. If the Bible came from old men in the desert, why is it that your "scholars" can't disprove it? There are no contradictions either. This is a figment of your atheistic imaginations, hoping there's no God so that you can live in your immorality.
@compgrad1 False. You are so wrong it's unbelievably scary. If you would just visit the links I showed you, you would see how wrong you are. But since you can't take what you dish out, you would rather live in ignorance and not become aware of the facts. Because you are blind, and the one living in your own "imagination" as you so call it. You don't have to direct me to anything. Because I lived a Christian life for 18 years. I don't HOPE there's no god. I am PRETTY FUCKING CERTAIN there isn't.

You provide no PROOF. You provide no FACTS. You provide your own "feelings" and what you "think" exists. Actually address my arguments instead of pointing fingers, and confront me on the educated points that I have made through the links I have sent, or we are done here, and you admit defeat by default. Because there is no use arguing with someone who can't even back up their arguments using something other than scripture. Because EVERYONE knows the Bible is not a reliable source. That's a given
The Bible doesn't have any mistakes. Your scholars are mistaken nor is it flawed.Idon't require proof of God because He's already proved He Exists in my life. My lungs, heart, and who knows how many processes work in my and others bodies without direction. The sun and other planets as well as the universes work in perfect harmony. I'd say, someone is in control. PS: The Bible is not obsolete...The very "science" you are using to disprove the Bible will soon be obsolete. Good science won't.
@compgrad1 Oh, the same science that created your computer and your television and your car and the medicine you take to cure ailments is obsolete? Yeah. I would certainly say that's all bollox. LMAO. You're an idiot. If the universe worked in perfect harmony, cancer would not exist, black holes would not exist, chaos would not produce order, and our own bodies wouldn't try to destroy themselves every time we get a fever. You are living in ignorance. And you're afraid to admit it.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Matthew 1:23 The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
The Greek Septuagint which Matthew used translates it as "a virgin shall conceive and bear a son," but the Hebrew word "almah" means "young woman of marriageable age," not a virgin.

@compgrad1 James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Some men are righteous, and their prayers are effective.

They’re allowed to bring a staff.
Luke 9:3: And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
Staffs, or "staves," are specifically mentioned as something NOT to bring.
@celestialwolven I am not saying Islam is wrong or right. I think they are wrong, but it's not point arguing about it with an atheist, right? I am saying we are not compatible faiths. You are just a twisted little atheist that don't know nothing about Christianity and probably not even Islam. Muhammed existed, I don't know and I don't care. Enjoy those pancakes, but stay away from the Kool-Aid.
@compgrad1 Yes, you are saying they are wrong! You just said that right after claiming you didn't think they're right because you don't share their faith. You make no sense at all, and you're running circles around your own excuses. They originated from the same desert belief. If you'd read the history, you'd realize this. Allah and God are the exact same deity. They originated out of the Middle East. But you don't read, so you don't care.

Allah and God are the exact same deity. They originated out of the Middle East. But you don't read, so you don't care.
@compgrad1 If you would provide me A GOOD REASON to believe in God, I would change my heart in an instant. Because I have a flexible enough brain that when provided with new evidence, I am smart enough to change my thought process to fit the new information. But the Bible is NOTHING NEW. It's the same old nonsensical shpeal. Just because you are here, and have a heart and a brain, that is NOT proof of a divine creator. Nothing is farther from the truth that this.
@CelestialWolven A good reason to believe and TRUST in God is for you to go to Heaven and to have a relationship with the Creator God Who knows everything about you and wants your best interests for you. No one is smart enough for anything... We are all little... You try then to orchestrate such a huge achievement as the body's functions, and then well tak... 'cause manking can't even orchestrate traffic.
@compgrad1 That's Pascal's wager, and it is a flawed excuse to begin with. A good excuse for you to be a Muslim would be to go to paradise and get 72 virgins. But you're not going to do that, right? If you apply that logic to Christianity, you have to apply it to ALL RELIGIONS. Otherwise, you're a hypocrite.
@CelestialWolven A hypocrite is literally a person that's two faced. You apparently don't know what you are saying. And by not accepting Islam, I am not a hypocrite. One is a hypocrite by claiming one thing and living something else in total contrast. Remember the sad/smiley masks they used in theaters in ancient days? That's kind of what I'm talking about.
@compgrad1 You ARE two-faced! You tell me to believe something just so I can go to YOUR heaven, but you won't do the same. I tell you well why not believe in Allah so you won't go to THAT hell. You wouldn't do it? Why? Because you can't practice what you preach. You apply logic to one faith, but not to all others. That is hypocrisy! I have a degree in English, and also one in Biology. You don't have to define words for me. I already know.
@compgrad1 How could mankind have orchestrated the mechanism for our own development. That's bollox, and you know it. Know you're just grasping for straws. If you want to know HOW we came to be, and WHY we are so complex, open up a science book and READ about it. Read how single celled organisms developed into complex multicelled organisms. Read how each parts of our body evolved to perform a certain function. It's all right there. I can provide you with links to get started. God is not there.
@CelestialWolven So, you think that's a bad logic? Ok. Read a book? NOt the first time I've been told that. I've read a few (but not atheists books though). I like biology, so I'll read some more. how about you, will you promise me that you'll read up instead of copy/paste someone else's arguments?
@compgrad1 With your logic, you need to hurry and convert to Islam, before you die and Allah punishes you forever. Give me a break. That is NOT a good reason at all.
The fact is that the human is an outstanding example of a very poor design. The study of our DNA is in its infancy yet more than 15000 known defects that cause untold misery, insanity and even death have been cataloged. It is a creature that walks upright but has the spine and sinus design of a creature that walks on all fours, resulting in much human misery especially with age.
@CelestialWolven No we're not! I told you, that all these problems and death came after the fall. Our sinus is not supposed to drain down, else we'd be slobbering all over the place. Pollution and diet have caused the problems we have as well. Our spines are perfect, I haven't heard any such argument. Please expound.
@compgrad1 It doesn't matter! Imperfection cannot come from perfection! Even a child could tell you this! The fact that vestigial organs exist and that there are flaws in our DNA structure and we share the same sinus and bone structure and 98 percent of our DNA with apes is proof enough of that. But you haven't studies biology, or genetics, or any of that, have you? Otherwise, this wouldn't be news to you.
@CelestialWolven I was going to go off with my life but... Let me educate the biology degreed person... First of all vestigial organs don't exist. We need them all, at least in part for a perfect working body. 98% of DNA is not necessarily accurate, they think it's about 92%. So that makes us 8% different. Even in your case, 2% different from 2billiion nucleotides, do the math. 40 million different nucleotides.
@compgrad1 Yes, they do. Here is a list of just a few: the human appendix, male breast tissue and nipples, wisdom teeth, the human tailbone, leg bones in whales and snakes, wings of flightless birds, so on and so forth. I can provide you with a list of transitional forms, as well. And FYI, our genetic code is 98% similar to chimpanzees when insertions and deletions are included. In 1.5 % of the genetic material, a nucleotidic base (genetic letter) has been replaced by another nucleotide.
@CelestialWolven elementary... appendix=immunity, male breast=probably sexual related, tailbone=anchor for muscles, legbonesin snakes, whales=not true, wingsonflightless birds=chicken fly, I've seen it done! Your transitional forms have all been disproven.
@compgrad1 Appendix = if it were important, it would kill us once it was taken out. Male breast = formed in the womb before gender is determined during formation of a baby, tailbone = no, not anchor for muscles, leg bone = yes it is, look it up, wingless birds = do not fly, the glide, and they cannot sustain themselves in flight. No, they haven't. Again, you are wrong. talkorigins (dot) org / indexcc / CC / CC200 (dot) html. Where is your scientific evidence of no transitional forms? Here's mine
@CelestialWolven The appendix is part of the immune system, just like the tonsils, Science Degree holder. Male breast must be for sexual purposes. Tailbones anchor muscles, the whales and snake leg bones, that's an evolutionary farse. Chicken fly short distances, I've chased them before, my neighbors had them. Forget talk origins, and please spare the transitionals, they are all debunked as fast as they come.
@compgrad1 Good job! You're starting to show promise! Wrong, I already explained male breast tissue to you. No, it's real, you're just choosing to ignore it. Chickens do not have "true flight", so no self-respecting ornithologist would call them true flight birds. They cannot sustain themselves long in the air at all. Debunked, moving on.
@celestialwolven you are a mad chick! Thanks for the complement back... But, yeah you grammar for an english major is not very "eloquent" shall we say... I'm happy you find my "strawman" enjoyable; your ad hominems are very distasteful, to be honest. Not to mention your "french", and to think I'm talking to a chick....
@compgrad1 You use the ad hominem argument out of context. Good for you! Also, I find it amusing that SUDDENLY you're starting to capitalize somewhat properly. Oh, and insulting me about my grammar and usage, even though it's still better than yours, is getting old hat. Try again. And I like cuss words. They're colorful. I'm sorry you're too chicken to use them. How's that my fault, dear?
@celestialwolven The appendix is part of the immune system... It is not vital, but it's not obsolete, you said it was obsolete. Read up sciencedaily (dot) c o m / releases / 2009 /08 /090820175901 (dot) htm
@compgrad1 We can live without our appendixes. We will not die if they are taken out. The body immediately compensates for the loss in immune response. Therefore, it is most certainly obsolete in most humans. Unless that person is immuno-suppressed anyway. I don't have an appendex. I am doing just fine. So is my father, brother, and grandfather who have also had them taken out. talkorigins (dot) org / faqs / vestiges / appendix (dot) html
@compgrad1 The appendix is not a vital organ. We have white blood cells and lymph systems for immunity. It is not required. In fact, most of the time, it is a harmful organ, because it can kill a person if not removed quickly enough during an attack. It once had a different purpose in our ancestors, but is not quickly becoming an obsolete organ. Eventually, it will evolve out of the species, or take a different form entirely.
@compgrad1 Men have nipples because before gender is determined during conception, the fetus' pituitary develops and estradiol is then converted to testosterone, then the male characteristics beging to show. The primal human stock was probably female. Therefore, it is not a woman that comes forth from a man, but the opposite. Because before the Y chromosome is even activated and male hormones produced, the undeveloped fetus essentially develops as a female until this occurs.
@compgrad1 The same goes for the tail bone. At some point during development, all mammal embryos have tails. They get reabsorbed into the tissue after more and more development in humans. There is a gene that is turned off to the formation of a tail, which humans have evolved to get rid of it, because at one point, a prehensile tail was no longer needed. In monkeys, this gene is not turned off, and the monkey thus develops a tail. We share the same gene with monkeys, but ours gets turned off.
@compgrad1 Some birds develop strong enough leg muscles so that flying is obsolete. At some point in their evolution chickens did not require the ability to fly in order to survive. Possibly because most of their food source is terrestrial, so they spent more time on the ground anyway. Flying extremely short distances may still aid in escape from predators, but it is not TRUE FLIGHT. Thus, they are flightless birds. But they still have wings, which are more or less useless for TRUE FLIGHT.

@compgrad1 This is why you actually need to do your research. You keep making false claims and accusations that are simply so far from the truth, that it is becoming somewhat scary. And then you use unrelated arguments to somehow sound smarter. I am literally scared at your ignorance. You cannot claim that something doesn't exist when there is physical proof that it does. Now, I ask you, where is your physical proof that says God made everything we see? Because that would definitely convert me.
@CelestialWolven Actually, I don't need to do any research at all.... I never made false claims, I am a Christian who believes in morals after all. And I'm not scary either, you are just throwing your "girly" twist here, the typical "crying". The Bible says that he that comes to God, must believe He Exists. It never said God Is going to prove first. You cannot come in your terms, it has to be on His.
@compgrad1 I am an atheist who believes in being a good person. That's all one needs in life. And surprise surprise, you don't need God to be a good person! You are very scary, in how gullible and closed-minded you are. I was a Christian for 18 years, and I will never go back to it, for good reason. What you call "girly crying" is merely logic and rational thought. But I suppose that is a foreign concept to you. I don't blame you for not recognizing. Show me God! Do it now!
@compgrad1 This is why you actually need to do your research. You keep making false claims and accusations that are simply so far from the truth, that it is becoming somewhat scary. @compgrad1 At least for one gene, human and chimpanzee alleles seem to differ by 13 base pairs out of 270, for a difference of about 5 percent at most, so they said five years ago. But new research suggests that we are indeed about 98.% similar in genetic structure. Also, the human genome has over 3 billion nucleotides, not 2 billion. Learn your science before coming into the lab.
@CelestialWolven Ok, 3billion nucleotides, so in your 1.5% difference that should be about 450million non equal bases that code for different proteins. I'll learn my science, but I don't claim a science degree. You claim an English degree but can't write. Your grammar is incoherent, not to mention that it is not very good. But I do enjoy your copy/paste skills.
@compgrad1 Says the person who can't even capitalize a proper sentence. I have a degree in English with an emphasis in Professional Writing. Your grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax are far WORSE than my own. Who cares about typing correctly on the internet, anyway? I'm a fast typer, and don't really care about being 100 percent correct where you are concerned. I do enjoy your strawman arguments, but they do not in any way prove your superiority.

@compgrad1 I just find it extremely amusing that you talk about my poor grammar, when most of your posts have been completely devoid of proper structural grammar and punctuation. If you don't even capitalize proper nouns in your sentences, let alone the first letter of a sentence, how then can you think that insulting me on making a few mistakes here and there is justified. I've been typing A LOT. So much so that I simply don't give a crap. This isn't about my grammar, it's about God's existence
That is an excuse. Not fact. Pollution and diet do not explain genetic malformations that lead to things like downs syndrome and cystic fibrosis and harlequin babies. No divine being could create THAT MANY flaws in a single gene so strung out that the creature can't even be defined as human anymore genetically. If we are a creation from a perfect being, then these flaws and misread genetic codes would not exist. Simple as that.
@compgrad1 "I am not saying Islam is wrong or right. I think they are wrong, but it's not point arguing about it with an atheist, right?" I'm the twisted one, when you can't even keep your arguments straight\? You obviously think they are wrong. Why? Because you weren't born in a Muslim nation. I'll tell you what's twisted. A divine sky daddy that punishes his creations for HIS OWN mistakes. He's no better than Zeus or Krishna. It's all the same nonsense.
@compgrad1 You're speechless because you're being forced to face things you have no way of comprehending with your limited Christian mindset. You are speechless because you have nothing to back up your claims other than an ancient book. You provide no good reason for me to believe in God. Complexity is NOT indication of design. This can be shown in the chaos theory which states that the more random the universe, the more order exists. God is not random. Therefore, he is not complex. Or divine.
@compgrad1 Also view the 50 Proofs that prove the Christian God is most likely an imaginary fabrication. I think it will give your long-forgotten brain muscles a good workout: godisimaginary (dot) com / index (dot) htm. I have read your Bible many times over, so it's only fair that you look at my sources before you can legitimately say that you've "done your research" and "reached the most logical conclusion". Because clearly that's not the case.
@CelestialWolven No, I don't want to read your whatever source of garbage against my faith. Apparently you have not read the Bible many times over.... You are uneducated in the Bible.
@compgrad1 I have read the Bible. That's where you are wrong. I am VERY educated in scripture. That's why it doesn't make sense. It's only "garbage" because you won't take the time to look at my sources and see for yourself where your faith is flawed. You CHOOSE to remain in ignorance. And you bring no FACTS to the table, only SPECULATION. I could talk forever and provide proof that evolution exists, but you wouldn't listen anyway. Because you're a closed-minded buffoon.
@compgrad1@compgrad1 Lastly, see how Christianity just borrows from other religions, and even takes some pagan rituals and practices and puts them into play under the guise of divine inspiration. It really is amazing how little most Christians know about the history of their own faith. Christianity is not original; it borrows and steals heavily from other, much older beliefs that out-date it by a huuuge margin: 2think (dot) org / hundredsheep / bible / library / myth (dot) shtml

@zaxxxon Do you really believe that ?? WoW !! Thats sad.

Great video, but as a weapons nerd I have to point out that the advances in artillery, particularly new high caliber rifled guns did most of the killing in world war 1. I think I read that somewhere. Airpower and gas did nothing in comparison.

So Christians go to a creation museum and then claim that this is true. Now as I come from England, we don't have a problem with Evolution. Evolution is the truth. In this day and age,Christians really need to question the bible.

CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Those animals that still have a functional appendix attached to a large caecum in order to digest PLANTS still use theirs. But it is common knowledge that mankind cannot properly digest plant matter. Most of it leaves our bodies after we eat it. We don't get the maximum nutritional absorption as animals with large caecums who can process and break down plant matter. The appendix does NOT perform this function in us. It does not house the bacteria to digest leaves and grass.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Why do you think that the functionality of an appendix within a rodent could in any way compare to functionality in humans. It's a good indication in some instances, but we are not herbivores, and our appendixes do not have the same function as one. The fact that this article stating that appendixes in fact appear in nature more often than we thought only attests to the accuracy of evolution. So many animals have a similar organ, and the function is different in them all.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1
I am linking to this again, so you will hopefully understand.
talkorigins (dot) org / faqs / vestiges / appendix (dot) html
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 We are not rodents. We are not lemurs. Just because these creatures may have a fully or partially-functioning large caecum (which is not an appendix, by the way), that does not mean that our appendixes function in the same mannerer. Our entire bodies are connected to a lymphatic system, and that is what drives immunity. I repeat, the appendix is not vital to immunity. If we get rid of it, our bodies still function normally. It DOES NOT control the immune system. It plays a TINY part.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Also, how would the amount of bacteria in a thumb-sized piece of the large intestine "repopulate" the rest of the intestine with good bacteria, when it is tens of times larger than the appendix? And how would that bacteria avoid being flushed out, as well? There isn't anything preventing intestinal bacteria from entering the appendix, too. Something is very OFF about this claim, and I would very much like to read into it further.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 "Researchers at Duke University Medical Center proposed that it actually serves a critical function. The appendix, they said, is a safe haven where good bacteria could hang out until they were needed to repopulate the gut after a nasty case of diarrhea, for example." Okay, they "proposed"? Well, where is the evidence for this claim? Where would this bacteria hang out, since diarrhea typically flushes the system completely when bad bacteria is present, including the appendix.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad I think you found that article, found one sentence that SORT OF supported your case, and linked me to it, without actually reading entirely what it says. Let alone what it means. It pokes fun at Darwin, but it doesn't completely discount his findings or his theories. It even states that Darwin's mistakes may have occurred because of LIMITED KNOWLEDGE in the 1800s at his disposal. Also, it NEVER STATES THAT THE APPENDIX IS A VITAL ORGAN IN HUMANS.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 "First, several living species, including certain lemurs, several rodents and a type of flying squirrel, still have an appendix attached to a large cecum which is used in digestion. Second, Parker says the appendix is actually quite widespread in nature" Wide-spread in nature does not mean functional, nor does it mean that it's a vital organ. Most male mammals have nipples. Non-functioning nipples. So should I think just because they're widespread, they are vital to survival?
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Also, your article still fails to realize that humans do not have a large caecum which which to digest food. That is an organ in herbivores, because a large caecum is necessary to digest plants. HUMANS DO NOT HAVE THIS. We have a thumb-sized appendix, but it's not developed to be useful, and in some people, it is lost due to surgical intervention and they are perfectly fine. I am one of these. As I stated before, I am fine, and have lost no amount of immune response because of it.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago

Take fun!
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 So go about your merry way. Find a Bible and get lost it in, because you are already so lost in life. You claim I am twisted and crude, but that's because I'm tired of your kind. But if anything, you are the twisted one, for remaining in the dark for so long. I encouraged you to think critically, and you just started insulting my own intelligence. I can admit to being a douche, it's what I do best, and then you get butthurt when I am. Then you do it right back. Hypocrite.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I may have a double degree, but I am not perfect. Even if I don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about science, I certainly know more than yourself. You've proven to me time and again that you have done absolutely NO research of your own. You see only what you want to see, and believe what others have told you just because you're too lazy to look beyond your God and through the window of reality.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 But I guess I'm just stupid, and should believe all this nonsense despite my better judgement that it's just a bunch of bollox. I should believe it, because the Bible tells me to. I suppose I should believe that a giant talking cat can exist, as well, simply because Dr. Suess tells me so. And I bet you still haven't read the Epic of Gilgamesh, have you? Exact. Same. Story. Only minor differences. The same dang story, stolen from the Babylonians, and plagiarized in the Bible.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 And even if all the animals WERE magically brought on board and survived the flood, the amount of inbreeding that would have occurred in order to repopulate the entire Earth would have killed off all species within a few dozen generations at most. Plus, no plant life could have survived the flood except aquatic ones, so unless Noah brought every species of plant on board, as well, the herbivores would have nothing to eat when the flood waters receded. Thus, neither would the predators
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Even if the many water-dwelling species were not brought on board, that still doesn't account for the time it would take to gather the animals, the amount of food needed to feed all of them, dividing predators from prey in order to keep them from eating each other, the disposal of tons and tons of waste from a ship big enough to be a New York city skyscraper, and the sheer improbability that a few people could live for hundreds of years and build the darn thing in the first place.

But I'm sure you realize by now that you have a lot of learning to do before you can start arguing facts with someone like me. Because I have done my homework, and I am not afraid of sharing what I know.

@celestialwolven I think you just made your point when you said, "I don't care." You don't care that's why this is going nowhere. When you find a verse that seems to be contradictory or whatever, read 20/20. 20 verses before and 20 after. Then you wouldn't be saying stuff like you are nor listening to those websites that want to turn people away from God.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I do exactly that. Which you would know, if you actually took the time to read the verses and compare them in the Bible. Which I have. Making excuses to not actually do the research is so unbecoming of someone claiming to have intelligence.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I don't care about you specifically. But I do care that you are polluting peoples' minds with your religious blabber. Stop doing that, and we can both be happy.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven I can't stop spreading the good news. Just because you don't want it, doesn't mean someone else won't want. You are free to do whatever you want with your life, but when it comes to my life, I can do what I want with it. And I choose to live it for Jesus Christ.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Good news? You mean threatening people with their eternal souls (of which we also have no proof actually exists) burning in a fiery pit for all eternity if they don't think the same way you do? Yeah, that TOTALLY fits the definition of "good" that I'm familiar with. (rolls eyes). If I were FREE to do whatever I want with my life, you wouldn't be here preaching to me. And as long as you're spreading lies to others, people like me will be there to intercept them before they do damage.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven Good news, it's better than your "survival of fittest" thingy...We don't threaten, you guys do... check out the protests at the Creation museum. I never claimed I'm good, (really rolling eyes). And I did not come preaching to you, you came to me and insulted my beliefs, so I had to refute you. So, you're saying you will be harassing me from now on? Wow.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 You started preaching, and I started challenging you about your beliefs. It's your own fault if you choose to be insulted. How is that my problem? Oh, and survival of the fittest and evolution are proven concepts. There is NOTHING you can do to disprove them, as I'm sure you've never even been to the Smithsonian or taken the time to study them in great detail, so you don't know what you're talking about anything. Case dismissed. You lose. Check and mate.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 There is nothing good about your message. Christianity and other religions have done more damage and set mankind back so far technologically and progressively than almost anything else I can think of. You try to force your morality on others in order to get what you want by influencing politics, government, and even women's rights. It is utterly despicable, and there is nothing GOOD or FAIR about it. Kids need to be taught how to think critically. Not follow an invisible sky daddy.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven Actually, the atheists have done way more harm. Check out Stalin, Hitler, Mao, and the such. Dear, I'm not forcing my morality on others, I'm presenting. When was the last time you saw me telling me to knock it off and follow my ways. Never! I though you were a troll at first, but now I think you're kinda twisting my words too. Plus, if kids were taught to think critically, they would not put up with evolutionary ideas, would they now?
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Oh, give me a fucking break. Not only was Hitler a ROMAN CATHOLIC, but more people have died in religious wars over the course of human history than by any other source! Oh, I suppose the Crusades were just a walk in the park, I suppose? Not to mention the millions of people that were supposedly killed in God's name in the Bible alone! Don't make me laugh. Atheists never kill in the name of atheism. Stalin killed for political reasons, never because he didn't believe in God.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven If people reject our message, we go somewhere else. If noone cares, noone cares. Fairy tales are evolutionary ideas. like the spontaneous generation that you believe in. Voltaire said the same thing you just said, but it was about Christianity. He went out, Christianity grow even more.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Then go! Go somewhere else! You're not wanted here! Look at that, a Christian calling evolution a fairy tale. Oh, the irony! Tis for to laugh!
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Keep spreading your "message" where it's not wanted. Most likely, no one will care anyway. Most people already know what they believe, so I doubt your stories and fairy tales about your god will do much to sway them. Anyone with half a brain can see past the fallacies of religion. Christianity, Islam, many other religions, are on their way out. We are in a new era of thinking and realizing that religion is obsolete. We don't need it. We make our own destinies. So nice try, but no.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I was honestly surprised you even knew what a nucleotide was. But after your claim that no vestigial organs exist, and your extreme miscount of the genes in the human genome, I realized that you are not a credible source. I may copy and paste Bible verses (and yes, I DO know what the Septuagint is - it's the Greek translation of Hebrew texts) since it's easier than finding them in a book, but I have shown that I can hold my own with relevant evidence. You have done none of that.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven I guess I know a few words...and I don't claim to have degrees, which I will let you wonder. Hold your own? I hope so, 'cause the stuff you're giving me right now, I was eating and answering you without having to do any work at all. And you're a double major!
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 You weren't answering anything. You were just preaching to me and hoping that was enough. Well, it's not. You haven't provided any FACTS. None at all. Here's an idea. Give me some EXTRA-BIBLICAL evidence that your God exists, and I'll convert. How is that? Oh, that word too big for you? That means evidence OUTSIDE of the Bible. Because that's the only way you're going to convince me that God exists, and you'll stop looking like a fundie in the process.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven The Bible makes sense to me. You loathe and laugh at it because you're an atheist and you're hoping it's wrong. Simple. So, the Bible Creation account is negligible because of physical laws, but evolution is not, i.e. it doesn't defy any physic's laws? Ok... So, the sun being formed after the Earth evades laws, but the Big Bang and spontaneous generation doesn't? Wow, now that's critical thinking, to stay away from.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@celestialwolven Vegetation formed before the sun? So what? It was a six day creation, think kid! I've had plants in the dark for way longer than that and they didn't die out. It doesn't mean death to vegetation, plants are very resistant, unless you are talking long times. You are just spitting out phallacies after phallacies.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Yes, you keep plants in the dark AT ROOM TEMPERATURE. No plant could survive out in the vacuum of space on an Earth without an atmosphere fueled by the heat of the sun! You can't imagine how cold it would be for those few days without the sun! Everything organic would freeze and die instantly! Are you kidding me? You really are an idiot! I'm not the one spitting out fallacies (yes, fallacies is spelled with an "f"), you are! You're thinking of "phallic". A penis. LMAO.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven And I want anyone reading this to know how much of a troll this person is. I mean, she believes evolution is possible but that Creation by a Loving God is not possible. And I'm trying to tell her (somehow 'cause she's stubborn) that she doesn't have to accept our faith. We're not forcing down her throat, she's open to choose. God doesn't need us, He Wants us. That's how loving He Is.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 If you knew how little the Bible makes sense, you would understand why I loathe and laugh at it. I could write an entire book on biblical fallacies and falsehoods. Even the order of creation stated in Genesis is physically impossible based on the laws of our planet and universe, and it's just extremely ridiculous. Earth was formed before the sun? Bull. Without the sun's gravity, it would have been pulled out into the vacuum of space and destroyed immediately after it's "creation."
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Vegetation being formed before there was even a sun to provide crucial light to plants? Let alone providing enough warmth to the Earth to keep the oceans from freezing in cold space? Separation of light and darkness comes on Day 3, when THERE IS NO SUN WITH WHICH TO PROVIDE LIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE until Day 4? There can be no light without the sun, no warmth without its rays. In the absence of heat and light, there is darkness and bitter cold. Again, NOTHING ABOUT THIS MAKES SENSE.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I hope anyone reading this can see how ridiculous this person's faith is. If you want more information, and possibly other instances where the Bible either contradicts itself or implies the impossible can occur, please message me. I would be more than happy to provide unclouded, reliable sources that you can study further to come to your own conclusion about the Christian God, or any gods, for that matter. Don't take my word for it. Think for yourself!
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven yes, it's a hindrance to salvation. You may pick a verse here and there and make a bad cult out of it, but you have to interpret the whole passage. You're an english degree person, you should know. Thesis, two supporting sentences, etc...etc.
compgrad1 6 months ago

compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 That's not what the Bibe says. In one verse, it says riches are not a hindrance. In another, IT DOES. Read it. I don't care what YOU have to say, I care what the Bible has to say. It lays it out in black and white, and it is contradictory. I don't care about your interpretation, I care about what it actually says. And based on what it says, it is confused with itself.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
My bad. I meant to say, in one verse it says they aren't a hindrance, and in another, it says they are. I don't care about what you think it means. I can read. I know what it means. Within the same book, even, it says two different things about so many topics. That is not consistent. That is not divinely inspired. That is nonsense.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I've already done my research. Now it's your turn. There is so much you DON'T know, and you don't WANT to know, because it goes against your faith. Well I'm here to tell you, that knowing the FACTS and being able to form your own decision is far greater to your species than just following your preachers blindly. I implore you to look into the FACTS, instead of STORIES, and see what you can find. And use open eyes unclouded by Christian judgements.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven I think I just hit a nerve... hehe... You are distancing yourself more and more from God by doubting Him, so it's up to you...
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 The only thing you've hit is the off switch to the logic button. Most of what I've said are in my own words. The only things I've pasted are Bible verses. Are you going to actually address the arguments, or will you just admit defeat now so I can get on with my life?
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven copy and paste. Hehe, typical.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 The only thing I am copying and pasting are arguments that you will not listen to. The Bible verses are copied, because how else will you read them? Should I take the time to type them out? Would that be better for you? You're doing the same thing. Hypocrite.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven Ok, stop the spam with your copy and paste references. If it's not your work, don't do it, 'cause I'm not interested.
Do you even know what the Septuagint is?
compgrad1 6 months ago
@celestialwolven No... I'm speechless because you're twisting two completely different faiths. I am not in charge of making you believe. Jesus told us to go preach the good news. He never said go force people to believe. I'm not responsible to make you a Christian, just to inform.
compgrad1 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago

That's a given
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
The Bible doesn't have any mistakes. Your scholars are mistaken nor is it flawed.Idon't require proof of God because He's already proved He Exists in my life. My lungs, heart, and who knows how many processes work in my and others bodies without direction. The sun and other planets as well as the universes work in perfect harmony. I'd say, someone is in control. PS: The Bible is not obsolete...The very "science" you are using to disprove the Bible will soon be obsolete. Good science won't.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Oh, the same science that created your computer and your television and your car and the medicine you take to cure ailments is obsolete? Yeah. I would certainly say that's all bollox.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven A good reason to believe and TRUST in God is for you to go to Heaven and to have a relationship with the Creator God Who knows everything about you and wants your best interests for you.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven A hypocrite is literally a person that's two faced. You apparently don't know what you are saying. And by not accepting Islam, I am not a hypocrite. One is a hypocrite by claiming one thing and living something else in total contrast. Remember the sad/smiley masks they used in theaters in ancient days? That's kind of what I'm talking about.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 You ARE two-faced! You tell me to believe something just so I can go to YOUR heaven, but you won't do the same. I tell you well why not believe in Allah so you won't go to THAT hell. @CelestialWolven So, you think that's a bad logic? Ok. Read a book? NOt the first time I've been told that. I've read a few (but not atheists books though). I like biology, so I'll read some more. how about you, will you promise me that you'll read up instead of copy/paste someone else's arguments?
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 With your logic, you need to hurry and convert to Islam, before you die and Allah punishes you forever. Give me a break. That is NOT a good reason at all.

@compgrad1
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven No we're not! I told you, that all these problems and death came after the fall. Our sinus is not supposed to drain down, else we'd be slobbering all over the place. Pollution and diet have caused the problems we have as well. Our spines are perfect, I haven't heard any such argument. Please expound.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 It doesn't matter! Imperfection cannot come from perfection! Even a child could tell you this! The fact that vestigial organs exist and that there are flaws in our DNA structure and we share the same sinus and bone structure and 98 percent of our DNA with apes is proof enough of that. But you haven't studies biology, or genetics, or any of that, have you? Otherwise, this wouldn't be news to you.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven I was going to go off with my life but... Let me educate the biology degreed person... First of all vestigial organs don't exist. We need them all, at least in part for a perfect working body. 98% of DNA is not necessarily accurate, they think it's about 92%. So that makes us 8% different. Even in your case, 2% different from 2billiion nucleotides, do the math. 40 million different nucleotides.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Yes, they do. Here is a list of just a few: the human appendix, male breast tissue and nipples, wisdom teeth, the human tailbone, leg bones in whales and snakes, wings of flightless birds, so on and so forth. I can provide you with a list of transitional forms, as well. And FYI, our genetic code is 98% similar to chimpanzees when insertions and deletions are included. In 1.5 % of the genetic material, a nucleotidic base (genetic letter) has been replaced by another nucleotide.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven elementary... appendix=immunity, male breast=probably sexual related, tailbone=anchor for muscles, legbonesin snakes, whales=not true, wingsonflightless birds=chicken fly, I've seen it done! Your transitional forms have all been disproven.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Appendix = if it were important, it would kill us once it was taken out. Male breast = formed in the womb before gender is determined during formation of a baby, tailbone = no, not anchor for muscles, leg bone = yes it is, look it up, wingless birds = do not fly, the glide, and they cannot sustain themselves in flight. No, they haven't. Again, you are wrong. talkorigins (dot) org / indexcc / CC / CC200 (dot) html. Where is your scientific evidence of no transitional forms? Here's mine
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven The appendix is part of the immune system, just like the tonsils, Science Degree holder. Male breast must be for sexual purposes. Tailbones anchor muscles, the whales and snake leg bones, that's an evolutionary farse. Chicken fly short distances, I've chased them before, my neighbors had them. Forget talk origins, and please spare the transitionals, they are all debunked as fast as they come.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Good job! You're starting to show promise! Wrong, I already explained male breast tissue to you. No, it's real, you're just choosing to ignore it. Chickens do not have "true flight", so no self-respecting ornithologist would call them true flight birds. They cannot sustain themselves long in the air at all. Debunked, moving on.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven you are a mad chick! Thanks for the complement back... But, yeah you grammar for an english major is not very "eloquent" shall we say... I'm happy you find my "strawman" enjoyable; your ad hominems are very distasteful, to be honest. Not to mention your "french", and to think I'm talking to a chick....
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 You use the ad hominem argument out of context. Good for you! Also, I find it amusing that SUDDENLY you're starting to capitalize somewhat properly. Oh, and insulting me about my grammar and usage, even though it's still better than yours, is getting old hat. Try again. And I like cuss words. They're colorful. I'm sorry you're too chicken to use them. How's that my fault, dear?
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven The appendix is part of the immune system... It is not vital, but it's not obsolete, you said it was obsolete. Read up sciencedaily (dot) c o m / releases / 2009 /08 /090820175901 (dot) htm
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 We can live without our appendixes. We will not die if they are taken out. The body immediately compensates for the loss in immune response. Therefore, it is most certainly obsolete in most humans. Unless that person is immuno-suppressed anyway. I don't have an appendex. I am doing just fine. So is my father, brother, and grandfather who have also had them taken out. talkorigins (dot) org / faqs / vestiges / appendix (dot) html
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 The appendix is not a vital organ. We have white blood cells and lymph systems for immunity. It is not required. In fact, most of the time, it is a harmful organ, because it can kill a person if not removed quickly enough during an attack. It once had a different purpose in our ancestors, but is not quickly becoming an obsolete organ. Eventually, it will evolve out of the species, or take a different form entirely.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Men have nipples because before gender is determined during conception, the fetus' pituitary develops and estradiol is then converted to testosterone, then the male characteristics beging to show. The primal human stock was probably female. Therefore, it is not a woman that comes forth from a man, but the opposite. Because before the Y chromosome is even activated and male hormones produced, the undeveloped fetus essentially develops as a female until this occurs.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven Actually, I don't need to do any research at all.... I never made false claims, I am a Christian who believes in morals after all. And I'm not scary either, you are just throwing your "girly" twist here, the typical "crying". The Bible says that he that comes to God, must believe He Exists. It never said God Is going to prove first. You cannot come in your terms, it has to be on His.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I am an atheist who believes in being a good person. That's all one needs in life. And surprise surprise, you don't need God to be a good person! You are very scary, in how gullible and closed-minded you are. I was a Christian for 18 years, and I will never go back to it, for good reason. What you call "girly crying" is merely logic and rational thought. But I suppose that is a foreign concept to you. I don't blame you for not recognizing. Show me God! Do it now!

CelestialWolven 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago

CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@celestialwolven I am left speechless. Your views are twisted.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 You're speechless because you're being forced to face things you have no way of comprehending with your limited Christian mindset. You are speechless because you have nothing to back up your claims other than an ancient book. You provide no good reason for me to believe in God. Complexity is NOT indication of design. This can be shown in the chaos theory which states that the more random the universe, the more order exists. God is not random. Therefore, he is not complex. Or divine.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 Also view the 50 Proofs that prove the Christian God is most likely an imaginary fabrication. I think it will give your long-forgotten brain muscles a good workout: godisimaginary (dot) com / index (dot) htm. I have read your Bible many times over, so it's only fair that you look at my sources before you can legitimately say that you've "done your research" and "reached the most logical conclusion". Because clearly that's not the case.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@CelestialWolven No, I don't want to read your whatever source of garbage against my faith. Apparently you have not read the Bible many times over.... You are uneducated in the Bible.
compgrad1 6 months ago
@compgrad1 I have read the Bible. That's where you are wrong. I am VERY educated in scripture. That's why it doesn't make sense. It's only "garbage" because you won't take the time to look at my sources and see for yourself where your faith is flawed. You CHOOSE to remain in ignorance. And you bring no FACTS to the table, only SPECULATION. I could talk forever and provide proof that evolution exists, but you wouldn't listen anyway. Because you're a closed-minded buffoon.
CelestialWolven 6 months ago
@compgrad1 @compgrad1 Lastly, see how Christianity just borrows from other religions, and even takes some pagan rituals and practices and puts them into play under the guise of divine inspiration. It really is amazing how little most Christians know about the history of their own faith. Christianity is not original; it borrows and steals heavily from other, much older beliefs that out-date it by a huuuge margin: 2think (dot) org / hundredsheep / bible / library / myth (dot) shtml
