I hope everyone realizes that more males are being born in every country and not just China. The majority of females are 40 and over. If you look at the 30 and under age range, you will find that males vastly outnumbered females in almost every country except Africa.

China needs to have much better enfocement of those kind of laws. Once you have a baby...it's the one you get, boy or girl. I don't agree nor dissagree with the policy. While there are many proplems with the the policy, there have been many successes; with having one child he/she does have better access to edu, especially if it's a girl if she had brothers, likely he would have gotten more attention, and with that poverty likely gone down; there are more recources to go around etc. Even if the policy was abolished, there would still be one child families (not for everyone, but there would still be).

Population control is good, but the Chinese One-Child Policy shouldn't keep existing for much longer. If the work-force in China diminishes, and the number of elderly people rises enormously (as it will, if the policy is not stopped soon), then all the social and economic improvements China has experienced in the past decades will be lost and the whole country will collapse.

The policy was created because people in China was starving. There were too many stomachs to feed. Land is vauable in Asia. My mom grew up with 1 sister and 1 younger brother. The story she tells me how she grew up is heart crenching. They starve most of their lives than anything. Jobs were fierst and there was nothing anyone can do. There are one child policy committees in China, and their job is to control the birth rate. There are 3 to 5 such committes in each village. If they discover that a family in the village has more than one children, they would send hired roughnecks to that family, and those roughnecks are armed with sticks and clubs, they would beat the mother and the children.

I very much disagree with such top-heavy socialist manipulation of the populace. If people are to be free, why not let the "overpopulated" areas naturally grow all the more "overpopulated?" But it's not that they have "too many" people, but either the regions are too small, or poorly developed for so many. If streets are overflowing with people, why not stack elevated streets, or encourage people to overspill into outlying areas?

Somebody said either we curb our birthrates, or we find more place for more families. Now which do you think is the easier sell to so many breeding parents? There can come to be more places with lots of people and fewer places far from lots of people. How can people enjoy having "all the children God gives," or all the children they were meant to have, in a world with so many people already? Simple actually. Spread, populate denser, welcome babies regardless.
But our children add so much useful to the world. Even though world population is now "huge," there's so much more place that can be found, or made, for drastically larger populations, that already come gradually.
We can aid the problem, by telling the truth, that there can be development and reasonable altering of nature towards vaster and denser human populations. More cities and towns can be built. Add suburbs for the intention of encouraging people to breed larger numbers.
Sometimes they make artificial land, by moving land from someplace, to fill in some shallow ocean area, but that's not what I meant. What I mean is, filling in the gaps between all the people, with still more people and their progeny, and then "making" additional places if/as necessary
3 dimensions to grow into: Outwards, Inwards, Upwards. Make cities larger, closer together. Infill underutilized areas. Stack people into highrises if needed or if many want to live same place

The Amish don't use birth control, and I think as many as 10 children, is common for them. I don't want to live as primitive as the Amish, but out of practical and religious concerns, I do not believe in "controlling" human fertility, and we should always welcome any more "blessings from God" children.

India is currently trying to keep their population down, since they have over 1 billion people as well. Population control is good, but the Chinese One-Child Policy shouldn't keep existing for much longer. If the work-force in China diminishes, and the number of elderly people rises enormously (as it will, if the policy is not stopped soon), then all the social and economic improvements China has experienced in the past decades will be lost and the whole country will collapse.

The policy was created because people in China was starving. There were too many stomachs to feed. Land is vauable in Asia. My mom grew up with 1 sister and 1 younger brother. The story she tells me how she grew up is heart crenching. They starve most of their lives than anything. Jobs were fierst and there was nothing anyone can do. It's not right, but we can't blame the goverment for trying.

Just think about this, what if your own mom or sister, first love, or even best friend never existed because she was killed before growing up to meet your father and birth you, date you, and grow up with you as a sibling. Simply they get fined, the cost of the fine varies
You can have more than 1 child if:
- You're not Han Chinese (there's about 56 minorities)
- You pay the fine
- Are a farmer in a rural area (farming families need more hands)
- Both parents are single children
It's meant to keep the over populated areas from becoming more over populated. So fines in Beijing will be high, and in small areas low.

I very much disagree with such top-heavy socialist manipulation of the populace. If people are to be free, why not let the "overpopulated" areas naturally grow all the more "overpopulated?" But it's not that they have "too many" people, but either the regions are too small, or poorly developed for so many. If streets are overflowing with people, why not stack elevated streets, or encourage people to overspill into outlying areas?
Let surrounding huge cities engulf villages.

i agree with you , i was just pointing out what the one child policy really was, when it was in effect. i dont think china even has a one child policy any more.
but yes, you are right. we need to to better develope areas. developing areas to help support the population your also creating jobs.

I see the natural conversion of relatively cheap organic matter or food, into additional human bodies, as completely natural and to be expected. Whatever happened to considering the natural increase of humanity, to be completely natural and something to be welcomed? Of course people should come together in marriage, and then be pushing out their babies. A more populous world should be designed for it

It should not be any "embarassment" for China or India to have so much population. Perhaps the entire world might be headed eventually in such a direction
More and more people would be glad to live. If cities gain too many people, people have freedom to spread elsewhere

Somebody said either we curb our birthrates, or we find more place for more families. Now which do you think is the easier sell to so many breeding parents? There can come to be more places with lots of people and fewer places far from lots of people. How can people enjoy having "all the children God gives," or all the children they were meant to have, in a world with so many people already? Simple actually. Spread, populate denser, welcome babies regardless.

We can aid the problem, by telling the truth, that there can be development and reasonable altering of nature towards vaster and denser human populations. More cities and towns can be built. Add suburbs for the intention of encouraging people to breed larger numbers.

Sometimes they make artificial land, by moving land from someplace, to fill in some shallow ocean area, but that's not what I meant. What I mean is, filling in the gaps between all the people, with still more people and their progeny, and then "making" additional places if/as necessary
3 dimensions to grow into: Outwards, Inwards, Upwards. Make cities larger, closer together. Infill underutilized areas. Stack people into highrises if needed or if many want to live same place

i understand people get a lot of joy out of having large families, it's just that we are really beginning to tax our environment. CO2 emissions, deforestation, insufficient food supply for third world countries are just a few of the problems

Even if the human race is growing a bit big for the planet, so what? Some YouTube video says Gaia is pregnant and really does want/need to have this baby. Pregnancy involves beautiful "bulging."
People are quite able to enjoy having large families, no matter how big the population of their country or city. All those problems you list, have solutions that don't involve imposing limits upon our numbers.
Rather than limit babies, most everybody really would rather populate denser.
