Good Lord, this is a movie, stop fighting our War for Independance.. The British were/ are our Mother Country. We were brothers, just like in the Civil War. Too bad it all had to come to conflict. Our people were farmers and tradesmen , not soldiers. They were not trained like those Brit soldiers! Even though he is a total bastard, I love Tavington the best in this flic- very sexy in that uniform.
@TheLadyTavington The funny thing is, it's more of a civil war. Only 27% of the population supported the founding fathers (All excelent propoganda spreaders, wealthiest men in the colonies, and held the largest number of slaves)
Historical accounts belive that Paul Revere bribed a large crowd to back a small regiment of young, newly enlisted british infantry 'redcoats'. He engraved 5 white men (2 blacks were killed) dead in a public square, and what looks to be an officer commanding the fire.
This doesn't make any sense. Why would the militia coincidently expose themselves to steal the wagons on the day the dragoons were planning to ambush them?
This is probably one of my favorite movies, but really? Whats up with that British officer? Look at the way he holds his hands in the air, it almost looks like hes surrendering. And please stop arguing. America won and now we are great allies.
@patriotadEEUU Ok that was a really idiotic response you just gave me. I think you need to back to elementary school. I could sit here and explain the very stupidity of that comment, but just the idiocy of it suggests you are beyond that kind of help.
It's true. The Revolutionary War was about the control of money. The Civil War was primary about money, slavery was a cause.
The Federal Reserve, which prints our money is a privately owned bank. Yes, private, for their own benefit.
We are in so much debt, that China and other countries practically own America. Oh, and we can't pay them back with this ponzi scheme system that we have.
@patriotadEEUU Uh huh... I think you need to stay away from the topic of history, specifically war history, you obviously aren't ready to have a mature conversation on the topic. America clearly won the war, and if you haven't realized that yet then you must have been living under a rock since you were born. America won because: Foreign support, guerrilla warfare, Underestimation by the British at crucial moments. Modern economy or politics won't change history. Please go away.
This movie was awesome, but this scene was just plain ruined because of the guy that said, "This is the kings highway!" I can never take him seriously!
@nyyankfan05 Actually the 25% of americans who fought for the King ended up going to Canada. Which is why the canadians still hate you, because you stole their land and property.
No wonder the British were the best at warfare in those days.
And before anyone says that the Americans were better; They were not. They even admit that in this film. More Americans died during the War of Independance than British
We then in turned rescued France (and all of Europe for that matter) from Adolf Hitler. If it wasn't for the U.S and our allies, we'd all be speaking German right now.
@warriorprince1010 Actually, not only did the U.S. send supplies to Britain, they sent over men to fly as pilots with the RAF. So "no yanks in the BOB" is a bit inaccurate :P
@puertoricandude16 The USA sent 7 pilots, not many. The UK bought equipment from the USA, so it would be British equipment as the UK owned it after buying it. The reverse lend lease was worth more technology wise.. tube alloys project, sonar, radar, depth charges.
@ONIRecon51 To be fair, we held our own very well for such a small country. And you had the home field advantage. It was a close run thing. Anyway, France did help you. Nevertheless, I must admit your tactics were revolutionary (excuse the pun), with your rifles inspiring the creation of our Rifle Regiment. As for the World Wars, I won't get drawn into a debate, but you only came in at the end of WWI (too late to help) and in WWII it was Russia that turned the tide. We're all friends now though.
bering in mind it was Britian against the United States France Spain and the Dutch Republic and there many native american allies and not only was the British empire under attack in america we had to protect our colonies else where we submited you did not beat us if anything close to beat it was the presure from France and Spain plus the rest of the Catholic alliance bearing down on us.
2nd war do you mean the war of 1812 no you did not win ....
@ONIRecon51 The US goal was to add Cannada ( or British north america at the time) to the Union not only did you fail to take Cannada but we also burnt Washington to the ground as it was a sub-conflict of the Nepolionic war we did not care much for the Americas at the time so we agreed to a status quo so how the hell do you count that as a victory.
World war one Germany was strangled and starved by the Royal Navy blockade of there ports and where on breaking point by the time to US arived ..
And world war 2 pah the United States were prepeard to let the United Kingdom burn only untill the Japanese gave you a good old fashioned kick up the arse did you do anything and remember if not for Britian China Soviet Union or the United States then we would have lost.
The War in the pacific was americas victory but the war in Africa was Britians and the war in europe the Soviets
@ONIRecon51 the americans came to late to do much in the first world war and in the second the war was mostly won by the russians and dont say we brits got lots of equipment from you we had to pay through the nose for the equipment we got from america even when we where fighting as allys and we only finished paying the debt off a few years ago
@PepperDr94 Its funny how they didnt win actually isnt it. Its funny how we gave our sword to the French. You were helped by the Swedish, Norwegians, French, Spanish, Dutch & Natives. 50,000 British troops against millions. Also America didnt win, because 1. Not all of America was at war, just the 13 Colonies. 2. We surrenderd to the French. 3. It was technically a British civil war. (Not creating an argument just stating facts)
@BritainF0rever1 We couldnt have surrendered to the French on a count of they were helping us. I'm NOT saying America was the only country to do anything (dont get me wrong) BUT I HATE when people try to make it sound like America did nothing [which is a lie]. Without the French, America would have lost same as without America the French would have lost. I understand youre not starting an argument (; but France & America was the majority, however yes there was more than just those two countries.
@BritainF0rever LMAO I jsut now noticed (BritainForever)LOL I thought u were America. Nowwwww the surrendering to the French thing makes since hahaha BUT Britain surrendered to us as well, Lord Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown to the American and French forces.
@PepperDr94 errrr no its the same with vietnam, americans pulled out of vietnam. british pulled out of america. also britian was at war with france and had a choice lose britain or lose america. we went back to defend the homeland and won!!!
Damn right it's the King's highway.

Actually they won. They finally set up their monetary system. We here in American are economic slaves. That's the only reason we are allies.

America didn't win the revolutionary war, it was mostly a french victory.
America lost the war of 1812 (badly)
America did hardly anything in WW1, it certainly didn't save anyones ass.
America turned up late for WW2 and only arrived in Europe after the allies were already winning.
