  • who the fuck disliked this??? >:(

  • Only a few days ago my life was shattered like it was nothing. Thx for uploading.

  • @runescapegodswords what happened?

  • @ahverypro I was sent to a place just like juvenile hall. Now im living with foster parents. My former parents dont care about me anymore. Also, my grades have been dropping lately because I feel very sad deep inside. Listening to this music is like a distraction for me to escape the moments of darkness in my life. I will never be able to smile again unfortunately........

  • @runescapegodswords that's how life works. changing is part of life, good or bad. just like a wind. it may be pleasant or it may kick you off your feet. the only thing you can do is get up and spit at life. just keep studying. distract yourself with making friends at school. trust me. sometimes friends can make better companions than parents.

you'll never be able to smile again if you don't do anything about your life.

  • One of the most beautiful pieces that I have ever heard composed. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for uploading this! (:

  • thx u very much

  • One word, only one word: Thank you.

  • @BlackInLady omg thank you are two words lol

  • Does anyone know any other good piano pieces in the style of the theme from amelie or this for example? One great piece is "tides" by nitin sawhney but I was wondering if anyone else knows about some more...

  • @MrAzijn try "Gonzales - solo piano". More modern but splendid.

  • It´s beautyful ...

  • wonderful

  • Probably my favorite piece of music!!!

I will always remember Woody Allen's "Another Woman"!!!

Its haunting ending had Satie's "G #1" in the background!!!

  • @koln1996 a wonderful and unterrated movie!

  • Han my... Love it so much. With the birds.

  • these graphics are gorgeous and the sound effects accompany satie's piece perfectly. thank you for uploading this. it has helped me unwind so many times before an exam.

  • I loved it... but WHY DID YOU PUT COMIC SANS MS ?? :'(

  • love it! so relaxing.....

  • I used to know how to play this on the piano....I wish I still remembered. :[

  • ‎*”˜˜”*°•.¸☆ ★ ☆¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•.¸☆♥♪♫

  • the simplicity of genius or the genius of simplicity? Satie is way beyond my ability to critique but from the first notes the pognant aspects of are given perspective, Nice photos too. thanks

  • Damn this is some pretty good work. awesome vid.

  • Love each fade in and out synchronizes with the music and your visual interpretation of Satie's Gymnopedie NO.1. Thank you.

  • this video is really great - i love it!! could you please say who the pianist is? i really like his/her playing as well as the gorgeous way you used visual and aural arts to go with satie :)

  • Excellent work with slight delay by Composer.

  • Along with Gnossiennes No.1 this is some of Saties' finest work... Simple but oh so effective.

  • Thanks for this video. I simply love this music and it was a magic surprise for me to find it.

  • Antoine de Saint Exupéry disait que la perfection, ce n'est pas lorsque il n'y a plus rien à rajouter, c'est lorsqu'il n'y a plus rien à retirer. Gymnopedie N°1 illustre merveilleusement bien ce propos.

  • LOVE IT!!! Erik Satie's music is a rich source for semiotic interpretation.

  • hard to find a more tranquil melody than this, thank you

  • I daydream to this music.

Privet message : Jack didn't kill Achille.

  • Wonderful!

  • Il n'y a pas un morceaux de Satie sur Youtube sans un accompagnement visuel... de merde. Et ici, avec le bruit des vagues et de mouettes au début, on tombe dans le cliché mièvre.

    Belle musique quand même.

  • good job Byzantium31. Picture which you included in video harmonizes with the music

  • Wait rap is not only Lil Wayne ! and btw Satie is really a great composer.

  • @hamsterdj78 HIGHLY underrated if you ask me (Satie I mean, I wont even comment on trash like LW) ;)

  • @Zenman1976 I don't know if Satie underrated, do you really think so ?

  • @hamsterdj78 well not for those who hear him I guess. Most people I know though when you mention classical composers dont know who he is (until you play some of his work) unlike say Vivaldi, Beethoven or Tchaikovsky..

Perhaps I should say his name is not as instantly recognisable as he should be, all things considered ;)

  • @Zenman1976 It's more important that the people know his music than his name, (even if knowing his name is important I agree with you ^^). And you don't probably live in France so that's why the french composers are not very famous.

  • @hamsterdj78 I can't say whether or not he was underrated at the time, but he's certainly not now lol. This piece has been used pretty extensively in movies and such; in commercials even lol.

It is definitely simple piano music, but beautiful and effective i think!

    youtube.com/watch?v=39aSihd_s5I

  • 320 000 vues,bravo.

  • I really like this !! .. i dont know,,, but the music Satie's everything relax me

  • @darkoz454 détendre et rever super!!!!!!!!

  • Love IT, not only the house at 2:35 but the synchronization's with the fade ins and outs with the music . After the house, where the image fades in wile the note sounds more, or the children that suddenly disappear and the colors fade like something tragic happens . In a scale of 0 to 10 i Give you 10. I did something with a photos from a reportage i made were in my country, Portugal and i know the work you have to do to put music and photos together to create something like you did.

    THUMBS up

  • i thought my audio wasn't working cuz it starts 30 seconds into the video

  • This is peace...just peace.

  • Comment removed

  • I fell in love with this song before I knew anything about Erik Satie (when I played it). I found out he was very eccentric, but kind to the children and they loved him. I am finding I love the songs he wrote. I am sure I don't love all the ones he wrote, who knows. I haven't heard them all.

  • i had to do my homework. Music homework. They told us to listen to a few musics, i zaped all of them, but then this one came, man i stoped everything and just watched this video t'ill the end, it's the most beatiful song i've ever listend to ..

  • Who is playing?

  • @sailingsam Erik Satie !

  • I'll use this theme for a short film that I'm doing. I'll put your name in the finals credits like aknowledge.

Sorry for my english. Grettings from Peru.

  • I really like the video as well as the beautiful song. The pictures are very peaceful. I'm watching and listening while the sun outside is starting to come out of the clouds. Have a relaxing day everyone!

  • I loved the song, not the video though

  • en silence mon amour

  • pure beauty

  • i want to get into this type of music

  • Hello well it like very much because aI love this pieve of music but NOT writes all over at beginning ~ very slow to start ~ hmm

  • Spellbindingly luscious.

  • M.A.G.N.I.F.I.Q.U.E ! ♥

  • Bellissimo video!

    Grazie

  • Nice...

    Check out my piano version:

    /watch?v=MYqKVr8WGHo

  • Vraiment super ♥

  • who is the player?

  • @FiatObscuritas Éric Satie (1866 –1925) a French composer and pianist.

  • fucking seagulls

  • is so pretty!!!!!

  • To think that people didn't like his music at the time and said it was too "daring"... bet those people are swallowing their words now!

  • Comment removed

  • that's how i have always been imagining this song. Waves at a lonely beach on a cloudy day. Beautiful memories, surroundings and people - just unforgatable. It is enough to close my eyes and listen to this amazing melody to fly away...

  • does byzantium refer to the william butler yeats poem?

  • Wow. I am deeply touched.

  • de q trate el video?

  • i think it would be better if you wern't effin and jeffin with the colour...

  • vous dis bonsoir..... sur la note qui emportera mes rêves à l'aube.

  • Star Trek TNG Season 2 Episode 2 FTW!

  • This piece of Art is the most restful thing I've ever listened to...and the sound of the waves are the very welcome in the beginning...I Love it...Thanks ...Peaceful

  • Excellent! Merci

  • LOVE - watched and listened several times.....thank you for posting!

  • They played this at my Great Uncle's Funeral. I managed to sit through the whole service without crying but at the end, when this came on, it brought on so many emotions and tears just began to run down my cheeks.

  • The picture at 1:38 reminds me of a painting titled " Rowing Home".

  • Love that house scene around 2:35!

  • @arc27 Hi, in this world where each people are used to zap, I'm verry happy you take time to appreciate the different scenes like around 2:35 . Thanks for your comment. Hope you to keep your eyes open and take time. Warm regard.

  • the same dreamlike ethereal sensitivity of the piece

is beautifully accompanied by the atmospheric visuals

    ...breathtakingly well done

    thank you

    gently, softly

    ...dreamy...

  • one of the most beautifull pieces of music I've ever heard, it's almost timeless

  • This video needs to be rainy and miserable Paris to support the sentiments

  • takes too long to start...doesnt hold the attention of the viewer..but once it starts its great..

  • Ah for some reason whenever i picture this song i picture rain. It's so soothing ^__^

  • открыла для себя новое

  • I dont know ,why..but i like this verymuch..perhaps my character???

  • Oddly enough... I first heard this as "background music" on a Moraff's "Mahjong" PC game. Actually... that little Mahjong game had some amazing music!!!! ~Kenn King

  • Just some guy playing a piano??? Only the pictures are beautiful, piano play is simple.

  • Gosh...I love this version...with natural sound....so relaxing....cool!!!!

  • The video accompanies the music nicely. I especially like the rock by the sea in the beginning, how it follows the music.

  • I heard this in the documentary "Man on Wire", been hooked ever since

  • this is beautiful

  • ohhhhhh I love this musiccc that's very beautiful the best!!!

  • wow

  • One of my favorites! :]

  • 心が落ち着きます

  • Its great when the lights in the house go out lol ......beautiful tune. thanks x

  • Are these pictures from Ireland?

  • yes: it's written in informations.

    I's wonderful !

  • Melodie dell' anima

  • There once was a girl who loved a boy. And he loved her. And they lived with passion. And then she was gone. And the passion was gone also.

  • R.I.P Simon, missing you

  • ES UNA MELODIA MUY BELLA!!!!

  • lovely

  • Lovely, but better if about 18 seconds trimmed off the beginning... but lovely.... :-)

  • HARUHI!

  • Did any of you know that this song is in the game MOTHER 3?

    I do.

  • Leder's Gymnopedie, man. :-)

  • Ha ha. Very mature, guys. All I'm saying is that this song is very popular. The translation makes sense as well.

  • grazie..

  • I love Margot for ever !

  • RIght

  • a simple. elegant tune that makes my soul melt away

    into the music....

  • I think it is very Inspiring the videography is tranquil and beautiful! Whats not to like ?

  • You just dont understand it. It takes a certain kind of soul to understand it.

  • fuck you BenMcKernan this song its beautifull fuck you man

  • This song Is the shit fucking awesome probably the most beutiful piece of music ever written

  • your lame -__-

  • Rap is shit. This is beautiful.

  • @NYhippie543 I heard a Rapshitty...er...I mean Rhapsody...hahahahaha. Cheers! ~KKing

  • @NYhippie543 you should be more open minded.

  • @NYhippie543 Rap isn't shit. But this is beautiful.

  • @NYhippie543 Rap's point is not to be beautiful

The aim is not the same, so it can't be compared

  • @TheFatestBoy Ikr.

  • @NYhippie543

That's crazy to say... Not because I'm a rapper, But in life it goes about Respect !!! You don't have to like RAP, But, Why do you hate ??? I mean everybody is free to think what he wants, And I admit that I like this part of music, But, It's not my music... What I want to say is that not all the songs from a genre, Are the same, So don't hate hole the scene of something, If you don't know everything about it !!! One Love, MacBest

  • @RapperMacBest I agree with NYhippie: rap is both poetically and musically null.

  • @Treyppa

I Don't agree, It's the same like saying this is no classical Music... Or maybe you only have listened to the Non-Poeticall Rap, You can't say Eminem is shit, You can't say 2Pac shit, So either I can't say Mozart is shit, Just only because you don't like the music... It's no problem you don't like, But respecting each other is the less you can do !!! One Love, MacBest

  • @RapperMacBest I wrote "Eminem Lyrics" in google, randomly picked up a song named "Lose Yourself" here's what I get: "Yo, his palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy

There is vomit on his sweater already

    Mom's spaghetti, he's nervous

But on the surface he looks calm and ready

    To drops bombs"

    Poetic, uh?

  • @Treyppa Rap, which is generally referring to Lil Wayne and other talentless pieces of shit, yes that it meaningless bullshit, where the producer extracts some violin sample and loops it with some meaningless pronouncements of wealth and grandeur recorded over it...yes that is rap.

  • @Treyppa But Hip Hop is something completely different. It is an act of journalism. A glimpse into the lives of the broken men and women of America.People that have been forced to live in a much brutal fashion due to the racist sociological underpinnings of the government. Now Hip Hop, that is music. Don't confuse the two.

  • @NYhippie543 Generalization fail.

  • @NYhippie543

    i like both!

  • were are the pics taken from??

I'd really like to know, theyre beautiful

and so is this song btw!

  • wow,

    beautiful!

  • Ahhh, this piece is sooooo beautiful...

  • Im currently learning this and finding it quite hard xD Its so nice. I wish I could get piano lessons!

I just have to say though that this piece is fantastic. Hope I can make it proud. :)

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Simply beautiful.
