I still say the vocalist for KC sounded more like the guy from Rush than Robert Plant. These guys were unnecessarily pilloried as being a Zep clone. Criminally underrated
He sung like Robert Plant, but the music is clearly much more 80s than Led Zeppelin......Robert Plant himself did a kind of new wave rock in the 80s, not radio metal like this. Kingdom Come were a perfectly decent band....this is one of my favorites.

All bands are influenced by their favorite bands and they all tend to write their music according to their influence, although it's not intended, it's something that no band has control over. All music started from an influence, such as the Beatles, Lead Belly. Led Zep was influenced by Lead Belly and did a song by Lead Belly.
KC was not a Led Zep clone band. There are similarities in Wolf's and Plant's voices but only if you isolate one aspect of Plant's style. As far as the music, had it not been for Get It On they probably wouldn't have gotten that tag anyway. Other people assumed that this unknown band was a reassembling of Led Zep because KC's Representatives issued that single to the radio stations without identifying the artist. so the actual "clone" thing came about BECAUSE some thought it WAS Led Zep!

Saw kingdom come open for scorpions, in 89, I was 4, to this day I follow kc. Zepp sucks in comparison.
