@pintoraficionado must be a very sad man burdened with conservative prejudices, lack of good taste and all that spiced up with so called "rules of watercolours" of the snobbish. If someone told artists who paint in oil or acrylic not to use white or black, they'd just them show their hairy backside. It is plainly ridiculous and stupid. Both D. Curtis and A. Castagnet are great artists, but obviously employing different style you cannot understand.

@pintoraficionado Castagnet may use a bit of opaque color or white occasionally, but no matter the subject, he can paint images that have great energy and life. You, on the other hand, may spend the rest of your life attempting to copy him in vain, let alone using tons of Chinese White hotdog highlights! WHO ARE YOU AFTER ALL? Doubtful that you can even draw would be my guess!
@batshytmonitor AND WHO ARE YOU AT ALL? Castagnet´s Cerberus? My opinion is, at least, based in what I see in the trailers. You, on the contrary, just guess… guess and harass people who don´t agree with you.
@batshytmonitor I see that insulting and offending people is a psychological need for anonymous thugs like you. To calm you down you should, perhaps, increase your dose of Chinese white. And, sorry to frustrate you, but this is my last response to a mental case.

@pintoraficionado you are the only target of my comments regarding Chinese White, but since you obviously envision yourself to be a keeper of some kind of purist sensibility, you'll have to hang alone with your delusions. Get a clue. David Curtis is absolutely English school and aside from roaming the countryside, seems at home with his own exceptional talent and celibacy. As for you, its doubtful that you have any talent whatsoever, other than to argue with your imagined foes in cyberspace.

@pintoraficionado you need to check out some of David's DVDs before you guild the lilly any further. The old age of purism in watercolor is thankfully dead and buried but you seem to have a need to hammer anyone who uses Chinese White? Get over yourself dummy and keep your criticisms to your own work. If you were ever a painter you'd shut up about it after all.
Hardly a Sargeant equivalent! You must not be familiar with the vast work of Singer Sargeant if you imagine this 'masking fluid master' to be so special.....Check out Alvaro Castagnet. Curtis is the master of pale washes.

@pintoraficionado Curtis uses opaque white as do all of the masters of watercolor. Castagnet is a master too!
