u actually dont need a mic on ps3 u just press whatever button is specified as the talk button. i mean to talk to other "HUMANS" u need a mic but to have ur online character talk u just press a button

there's such a button but it only says things like whats up and fuck you. Thats pretty much it. You need a mic on 360 to communicate. That's better than some button if you ask me or any other interactive gamer.
