While it is true that in the first game, The Helghast are basically fighting to reclaim the planet that the ISA wrongfully stole from them, but their attitude is corrupted. Scolar Visari basically used the Helghan people's anger, and twisted and corrupted it into this Nazi-esque supreme nationalist ideology. He even went so far as to have the few Helghan people that publically questioned his words executed so as to convince the rest that the military government is right.

They got greedy after Helghan and Vekta started raking in the cash from industry and agriculture, and when Helghan decided to break from the CSA (or is it CSU?) The ISA invaded Vekta and stole it from Helghan, and then blockaded Helghan and starved it`s people to death, eventually they rebuilt under Scolar Visari and that`s where Killzone 2 and 3 start.

From what I heard in the game at times was isa tried to reach a peaceful manner with the helgans but the helgans kept arguing that isa started the war yet isa says helgans started the war. After a peaceful solution could not be solved war was the only option. At least that's what I thought happened.

No, KZ's story replicates WW2Long story short, the ISA planted the seeds of the war just like the allies planted the seeds of WW2 after WW1.Then a leader(hitler/visari) helps his people greatly and gives his people back their land and pride.The only difference is that hitler was a mad man
