I really love the work you do.. its been so long since I used air-dry clay, perhaps I should try again..? I just don't know what I am supposed to do with the sculpture AFTER it is completed. =( I use Polymer clay, but the clay you use can be worked so much quicker. Can I please ask what you do with your completed work? Do you fire it? And have you ever tried Polymer Clay? Thank you for sharing this!
Wow. I've never been interested in sculpting or other 3D media myself, but this is absolutely //fascinating// to watch. It's kind of hypnotic how steady and sure the person's movements are, throughout the video.
I am fortunate to have taken a portrait sculpture workshop from this master sculptor. He makes it look so easy. His classes give you the basic fundamentals as you watch him in action. He explains what and why he's doing each step. The key, from what I remember him telling me, is "practice practice practice", and endeavor to be Precise!
@0123Dayan The clay used in this video was a low fire (fires to cone 06) white earthenware (water based) clay without grog. In another video Philippe specifically used "Smooth Sculpture" from Clay Planet.

I have all of Philippe's books and DVDs except this, and they are invaluable for anyone who truly wants to understand the structure of the human head/face and how to create portraits using different genders, ages and races.
I don't know how anyone could dislike this video. I'll be buying the video to add to my collection of books and video by Philippe Faraut. Philippe used a different method of constructing the volumes and planes which worked quite well. I'll have to try that. The cinematography is quite good .
!!! Fantastico!!!! soy una fan incondicional suya,he comprado todos los videos ,solo k deberia subir muchos mas videos mas ,ya k su arte nos enseña y nos alienta a seguir trabajando esta tecnica,la cual usted domina a la perfeccion .

Clay is probably the most fantastic medium for art.. I dont think you can feel the art more intense then with clay

Absolutely amazing. Maybe I should try working with clay as well :c
So, what does he put on the clay with his brush? And the liquid he uses afterwards is probably water or alcohol?
