Love is the only true Spirit. Whatever God you choose to believe and trust your soul to is your choice. I can only pray for my Spirit to a God of Love. Anything else is semantics.
Beautiful, reminds me of my native tongue singing gospel songs back at home in my village of 150 people in Alaska. Beautiful voice and singing with such grace and beauty.
I see the anger of those I can understand, I to struggle with this anger, but open my heart to thought. Where have The many People changed ? If Usen had wished us to know all what is preached from the book, wouldn't he have provided us with this, much as we did with those of Israel ? Who is to say which is right or wrong, because one day we each stand before Creator, then only do we know the truth. Let our actions now, speak for how we will be judged when that time comes. no ? Do not push onto 1
Da' nzh'o I Respectively have a question, I sit NOT and judge anyones path of belief. But as one of The People, my experiences of being pushed into a white Christian school, punished for 1) not being able to commit to memory bible teachings. 2), I was ill treated because of being who I am. I always believed in a Creator who is ONE and loves His people. I understand that Usen/Creator Is ONE, but why have many jumped into total belief of what was not here before. Was Usen/Creator not enough ?
My prayers are raised tonight for the Navajo people. I pray that God will lift the heavy burden of poverty and despair. The Navajo are a great and ancient people. I pray his blessings upon their nation.
So much more beautiful in Dine :) I <3 it even tho I am not a full heart'd Christian and believe more deeply in my traditional values i believe this song compasses all beauty around us!!!!
Virginia and Elizabeth, that was so beautiful. It really touched me as a christian. I am a writer who grew up in Arizona. I am working on a fiction novel that is based largely on history that goes back to the mid 1800's and to 1980's Arizona. If there are any Navajo or Apache viewers who would be interested in a correspondence with me to check periodically on authenticity and correctness to what I an writing. I don't wish to print anything wrong. Thomas: tdkstudios at dslextremecom

Thank you for uploading this. It is beautiful. The testimony of Native Christians is such an important part of my faith and really helped me through a trying time where I was questioning my faith. It is truly inspiring to see Native people who love Jesus AND embrace their culture, especially in light of the crimes against the Native people throughout history - which were often justified using Christian teachings.
The Navajo Language is very beautiful, songs sung in Navajo seem to have a deeper meaning...I LOVE Navajo Gospel along with Navajo Hozhoojii Songs... I just enjoy Being Navajo, Diyinii be with us all, Be it the Christian Judeo "God" or our own Diyin....
sad how the navajo culture is ruined how their religion is destroyed.I respect the navajo religion their religion of nature but christians and muslims are savages like wild animals wanting to anexate none muslims and none christians
i love it im not navajo or a christan but i am a native its good that u can take a way of prayer and fix to your own way i was always told its not set in stone but to take the good from everything and put it on my heart and carry it with me aho thank you
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Ephesians 6:12
sounds so beautiful, thank you for this great music in navajo, it reminded me of my mom, whom i really miss. Bless all my navajo brothers and sisters.

Now 2 replay so many times so I learn this song. TY
God is God no matter what name you may call him, Buddha, Mohamad, etc. This is a song not a religion. I am a white American and would change in a heartbeat what was done to the chinese, blacks and Indians by white men. We can all live in this world peacefully if we let go of our EGO and just love no matter what color, religion, or differences. It's people who preach HATE who are cowards and ruin what God has tried to create ....cayotedog
Daybreaker Thank You Very Much Very Nice. You Tell Them Unbeliever's They Will One Burn For Ever With Out Christ In There Heart's & Live's. They Will Reap What They Sow In The End Keep Up The Great Singing & God Bless I'am Married For 22 Year's Now To A Sweet Navajo Women
This is very beautiful, thanks for posting it. None will regret the loss of self nature, no matter what the race, when it is replaced with His. Christianity has this to offer: For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Eph. 2:8

I truly enjoyed this video and this song means the world to me too. I love it in most any language, Navajo language is amazing. I wonder if you have heard it sang in Inuit? Also very beautiful. You did a great job keep it up, and God bless you.
There is but one, (god ), us native call our creator, grandfather, great spirit, etc. The european english call god, lord, jesus, etc. Different names, but as one.The five fingers is sacred. It is life. There is no labels in life. There is no colors.Pray for understanding... and he will show you understandings
I love this song. And religion is not what gets us to Heaven. Salvation is. The bible says lest you be born again ( that is be saved by Jesus) you wont go to Heaven. Thanks for reminding me of how precious Jesus truly is.
How do you know christainity has nothing to offer if you never really got in to it. I am a christain and have found peace in my heart. I have no desire to stick to a religion that only have my people go bizzerk and that is NAC.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is disgusting, has christianity already victimized these noble people too? Don't abandon your own religions navajo, for you will regret the loss of your identity one day. Look at the European Romantic movement. Paganism is being revived, so you might as well just stick immediately to your own religions. Christianity really has almost nothing to offer...
@CdtSSgtTso Christian religion was a rebellion of Jesus against his own people. His people, under the occupation of the Romans, became frustrated and too strict. So jesus wanted to spread a message of love to his OWN people. The only christians on the world should have been some jews converted. NEVER EVER, leave your TRUE traditions. Look at us Europeans now, we are having the greatest identitystruggle ever now...
@Metaldude1945 Jesus is God and therefore all peoples and nations are His. You don't need to give up your traditions or the pride in your people to believe in Jesus, because no culture or people can say they own him more than the others. Chistianity isn't "white" or "European", it started in Asia and and belongs to the whole world. Europeans too gave up their old religions to convert into Christianity.
@Feanorielle That is your belief. I do believe each people is unique and has its own god(s). I know you don't need to give up traditions, but when for example the Germanic festivities got christian contexts, were they still germanic and the true traditions then? I think not. Europeans didn't give up their religion. Some traitor kings and loners gave up their pagan religions and slaughtered and forced christianity unto others.
@Metaldude1945 Do you say person can't choose what he believes, but is forced to believe what ever the people around him happen to believe? I'm sorry but I happen to believe in free will, and cannot accept such view. And to say that all peoples have their own gods is stupid. Each gods say they are the only right ones, and each religion claims to be true. If they exist at the same time, their gods are liars. And different religions have different truths, so some of them must be in wrong.
@Feanorielle But what about identity? Christianity and islam just smashed all other religions and cultures away! Science proves what is wrong and what is right. The Gods are what we make of them. I believe gods exist, and that certain people have certain gods. Those gods made them. Yahweh made the jews, Odin the Germanic people,... This explains variation and evolution.
@Metaldude1945 I choose my own identity. If my family and people would worship gods I don't believe in, I wouldn't join then just to make them happy. And as I said, not all religions can be true. It's very simple. Abrahamic God says He is the only one and there is no other gods. Either there is no other gods or He is a liar, and the religion decicated to Him is in wrong. Same goes for other religions. Not all can be right at the same time.
@Feanorielle The bible doesn't say there aren't any other gods. It is only forbidden to abide them. The first commandment says it, i don't know it in correct english but it goes something like this: Thou shalt not abide other gods at my expense. So this actually means there are other gods, but you are not allowed to worship them, cause he is a "Jealous" god. Every religion in the world is/was polytheistic. There are other gods, not just 1!
@Feanorielle The bible, Koran, Thora, ... You can't take them literally, you have to read them metaphorically. It is interesting to read them, so you can see how certain groups of people thought about certain objects. The gods work in different ways, they don't look and behave like humans. They are certain forces, powers,... we can't see, feel or hear... etc. What the gods are, is for science to decide and discover. But the values, traditions,... are what we choose, the best way: ancestral way.
@Metaldude1945 They can be taken very literally, actually that's the only reasonable way to take them: once you decide the'rey just written by mortal humans with no supernatural source, they become only random books and you can as well drop them there. And there isn't any ancestral way. Cultures have changes dramatically and genes have flown. I could as well come from Finno-Ugric, Germanic or Hellenic sources.
@Feanorielle You have to take them metaphorically, if you take'm too serious we'll be back in the dark ages, especially with abrahamistic religions. You have to learn to read those books metaphorically and learn from the wisdoms that are in it. But yeah, the way you react, is primordial to the christian dogmatic thinking. Don't make the mistake my Ancestors made. Don't convert, and if you do, don't take the book litterally!
@Metaldude1945 We dissagree because we look for different things. You want to find something real in this life and this world, and ethnic identity is your answer. Religions are just one piece of forming that identity. I'm not interested in such things. I'm interested in the issues of the next life, and finding the truth abouth God and universe. Identity, ethnicity and this life aren't such a big deal for me.
@Metaldude1945 Iknow that im just saying that we choose who we wanna be. and my whole family ov my dads side is both christian and Navajo We dont forget who we are our heritage our language and we also Believe in God Jesus Christ and the Heavens and Angles
@CdtSSgtTso I'm having a feeling that the christian religion was forced unto the native americans... And you are the product of its succes. Too bad :( Purity is a lost value.
@Metaldude1945 Religion is only a small part of everyday life. You can have a religion and still keep hold of your original heritage and culture. Don't worry too much about it, besides, many people still are not christian ;)
@Metaldude1945 Romans 18:16 says that the simple are deceived by sweet words and beautiful speeches. The Simple! Quit being simple. your attitude isnt right thats why you cant receive the Word of God. We preach Christ crucified, which is foolishness to those that are perishing, but it is salvation to those who believe! It is the power of God! be ye transformed, brother, In Jesus name!
@chidii19 Simple? LOL, i'm simple? Pagans don't have creationists on their side. The only reason europe became christian or any other people, is because it was brought to them by force, not because they believed. Let the big questions be answered by science, the questions that will never be answered, that is where the gods are working, the way we live, should be the (true, ethnic) culture of the people. I'm not a semite, and thus i will never follow a semite religion!
@Metaldude1945 John 4: Jesus said We know who we worship, for Salvation is of the Jews. God's grace is offered and given to everyone living, for God is not a respector of persons, first to the Jew, then to the gentile. God is not only the God of the Jews, but as Psalms proclaims, the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it! Including you! Metaldude 1945, one day you are going to do something great for God. mark my words. God keep you, and God bless.
@Metaldude1945 It might be disgusting for you, sir or lady!! however is not for many of us!!! what is disgusting is to find people full of biterness creating a poor environment of roughness through internet! is true, ignorance makes people bold, there´s no doubt!!!
@Metaldude1945 I can tell u something I just came back from the navaho rez where my navaho partner and I went to preach, there´s too much need of Jesuschrist, a lot of alcoholism and hitchhikers all over the rez., they really need Jessuchrist!! if Christianity has nothing to offer? why is that unbelievers come to God´s people to set them free from their captivity??
@lizetita1974 1st Alcoholism is also to be found with aboriginals, those are just cultures that didn't grow up with alcohol like european cultures + natives, aboriginals,.. are in a state of misery: suicide and alcoholism and all that grows. What concerns Europe, christianity was FORCED upon us by some minorities. However, your situation could also be declared as a inferioritycomplex. The natives see that the whites are having it so much better, and that christianity is better organised.
@lizetita1974 (recaption)...better organised. Christianity has churches, a pope, a strict and large hierarchy like priest, pope, cardinals,... etc. The natives think that, just like in ancient Europe, the celts saw that the Romans were far more superior, and they were christian, so they thought if they followed that God, they would get that power too. But Rome was already great during pagan times, Rome even collapsed in their christian period. But the inferioritycomplex has a lot to do with it.
@lizetita1974 What the natives need, is identity and being more demanding to whites, who stole their land. Indians need to believe in their own strengths, they need to take a step away and more seperation from the white/black/latino people and go your own way. Give up everything of which you know, white people brought it, and didn't do you good. Do you know how retarded Europe was during the christian dark ages? Don't make the same mistake!
@Metaldude1945We have the nations of "white" people who ar fascinated with our ways but there is only one real path, the path to Christ. In our traditional ways we have to follow 20+ guidelines or commandments to make it to the "happy hunting grounds" that's impossible! With Christianity there are only 10, and we still have the hardest times following those. Pagans can do their thing i could care less if it's being revived, I will continue to follow Jesus and teach others to do the same.
@dhlargo What did the white man do for you, that is any good? He destroyed your lands, because christianity told him it was ok. They who are not christian ought to be converted and if they do not, they must be killed. It is our history but then in America. Think very good now, dhlargo, what has christianity and the white people brought to you, that was of any good value for you and your people? Your people still have chance to be pure and to persue their identity, do it now before it's too late.
@dhlargo 20 GUIDELINES, not commandments. The only religions that have real commandments and dogmas are the abrahamistic religions. The guidelines are as the word guideline means, they are advices. The religion wants you to be a good person. It's not a big deal if you fail once or if you make mistakes, it's okay. Christianity just really is killing your culture, your roots, who you are. Hell, christianity killed every culture it has crossed path with.
@Metaldude1945 If christianity was killing my people I'd be dead. You can take a gun and say it's deadly, but if it sits on the kitchen table it's nothing. Once it's in ones possession, the person with the weapon decides wether it's gonna be good or evil. Back then they didn't know better being a racist doesn't serve any kind of a good cause either. I have been kicked off my land by the whites, not just my ancestors, but MY family. I choose not to be a racist. I am a Follower Of Christ
@dhlargo It's not a matter of racism, it's a matter of treason. By this you betray all your ancestors who have died because of the christian religion.
@Metaldude1945 Jesus Christ Was not white, his views were just blown out of proportion by the europeans. People like you feel that they had to force religion onto people unlike yourself. You can't just accept what people do with their lives. I will continue to be a strong Navajo with Faith in Christ, while you feel the need to force people to believe what you believe. Much like the peoople who threw a wrench in my ancestors traditional ways. Are you Native American?
@dhlargo Yeah, i know jesus christ wasn't white. He was a middle eastern person. I'm not native American. I am Flemish, of the land Flanders which is in Belgium. My religion is Ásatrú, which is/was the religion of all Germanic peoples. Some gods you might know such as Odin, Thor, Tyr, Freya, Nerthus,... I hate the fact christianity has destroyed all these rich cultures. The same happened to your peoples and others around the world. Cause it is in the nature of christianity and islam to convert.
@Metaldude1945 So you as a non-Native American feel you have the right to tell people they're wrong and that they NEED to believe in their own traditional God. If your people came to the Land soon to known as America what would have kept them from trying to convert The locals to Asatru? If they were as conceited and determined as you are, they The Flemish would have succedded. We can't change the fact that things have happened in the name of God, whichever he may be, but we can choose.
@dhlargo Hmm, you understand me wrong. I am simply disgusted for what the Europeans did to you, and that you(plural) are christian now. Second, what you said about the converting to Ásatrú is wrong. Because the old pagan religions of all European peoples were religions where ancestry is important, i think that is the case in the native american religions. Never in history did the Romans for example try to convert germanics to the Italic religion, cause we were not of their ancestry.
@Metaldude Yes i did misunderstand you. I have in the past hated christians only because they were like "them" the conformists. I have respect for christians now and am starting to see where you're coming from. I feel if they knew we already had our own religion it might have been diffferent. They did not understand the natives, our ways or our many languages. A lot of people now try to make up for it but only make it worst. Paying natives with casino money for example. very fukt up idea
@dhlargo You can respect christianity, I respect it too, but i see it as a time/historically evolution of the jews. It actually is not a good religion for us nor for you natives. Jesus tried to sooth and calm his people down in his time and region. Jesus' thoughts are one big reaction to the misbehaviour of the leaders and the Romans and the bittered by this all jewish civil population. It does not reflect us Europeans nor Indians or other people.
@Metaldude1945 :) You're not so bad after all, at first I thought you another ignorant basterd who spoke before you thought. You have much wisdom in your views, I can respect that. Thank You, may your Gods lay many blessings on you my friend
@dhlargo And may the Great spirit lead you to the path of your ancestors :)
I don't have bad intentions at all. Call me a lost romantic soul, I like authenticity and peoples in their authentic and first stages. That's why i love all these old European, African, American,...etc religions, cultures, languages,... etc
@dhlargo You have to understand that religion used to be especially back in the middle ages also a part of politics. Christianity should have been kept the religion of some individuals, and should have not been so widely converted. I would have accepted the following situation: Paganism for the largest part of the people, and christianity for some who felt better with that.
@dhlargo (Read other answer first), So we wouldn't have converted you to our religion. Nor did the other way around happen, didn't it? Natives didn't try to convert Europeans to the native american religion if i'm correct. Christianity and especially islam are agressive converting religions. I am sorry for you indians( is this word an insult actually?) that you've lost/ are losing your culture to a relgion which has proven to be a agressive, dumb & despoiling religion in European history.
@Metaldude1945 In some areas of the Navajo reservation the religion is highly aggressive, and in others passive. The point is, Christianity on the reservation pushes on to "save" those "lost" Navajo souls. Ive even seen really extreme forms of it recently, to the point where tribal members are encouraged to burn medicine bundles and sacred ceremonial paraphernalia. To say the least, its quite sickening. But oh well.
@mbenall3 See, converting religions are dangerous. It behaves like a sect. Should you have respect for a religion that tells your ways are despicable and disgusting? Stick to your roots, it's all you still have, my native american friends... Don't let them eradicate you entirely, nor ethnically, nor culturally, nor linguistically...
@Metaldude1945 well yes that true. it's important to keep tradition alive. but dont we hav the freedom to choose our own religion now? it's not like anybody is forcing us with a whip at hand. we're choosing this for ourselves. Christianity is an important aspect in my life so i wouldnt hav it any other way. it has everything to offer us in our daily lives whoever chooses this path
Here we go again, people telling people who or what to believe. Let me do my thing and you do your thing. If I want to believe in Christ, let me do so.
@NirobiQ God has many names. "great spirit" may be the only word or phrase in their language to express God. And just to let you know it's not just the Christian God, because he is the God of all, if you do not recognize him is your own affair.
@Metaldude1945 It has everything to offer. How can you stand there and blame us for "victimizing" when it's people like you that are a stumbling block for men and women searching for Christ. Our identity has been distorted over the ages and you have the nerve to point us back to the times of the lost.
@GodWarrior7771 How can you betray your ancestors like that? Everything they fought for and died for, and you just do what the white man told you to do. Tecumseh must be turning in his grave.
@Metaldude1945 I haven't betrayed my ancestors, as we are all formed from the grace of God. I don't follow Christ because the white men (or any kind of man) led me to do so, I found him on my own. I owe allegiance to Christ, not man.
daybreakwarrior I am your brother in Christ and I believe that all people who are kind and spiritual who have not met Christ in this world will be given a chance to meet him in the next world. I also believe he is the great Manitou that our spirit brothers pray to for peace and guidance for I believe he visited this continent in the missing years before he was crucified. Thank you for posting this song in the beautiful Navajo language it gives me peace. God bless you and yours.
Thank you for sharing this video and song! Elizabeth and Virginia are related to me and first sang at my wedding back in 2000. I love their music, they're a great pair to hear! God Bless!
I believe christianity is not our belief. There are no stories of snakes, apples, disciples etc. but our language is beautiful and that's what got me here.
It's true, it is not Navajo religion, but I believe it. I don't just sing this song. This song means the world to me. When I sing the words of this song, I mean it. So, when I celebrate Christmas, I celebrate the freedom that Christ has brought me. Thanks for reminding me of that & Merry Christmas!
God bless who sings this song! I am in Operation Enduring Freedom here in Afghanistan. U.S. Army serving the front lines. Thank you for sharing this with the world. AWESOME!
I love this to sing this song regardless of Language. I disagree Indians are not Christians. I am Navajo, I am an ambassador for Jesus Christ. Religion is human trying to work their way to God through good works. Christians is God coming to men and women (regardless of race) through Jesus Christ offering them a relationship with himself. I speak Navajo. I like to teach you this language. I pray for you to grow in God's grace.
its a very good song if ur learning the language but other then that this osng sucks....indians are not christians but 5 start for making a song in a lsmall language, good if u are learning the language
I'm an indian and Christian. I guess the impossible is possible. Besides, I don't think you believe religion is crap. It's not like this video was a total suprise when you clicked the title. You knew what it was about. It peeked your interest. If you truly believed religion was crap, you wouldn't have bothered to take a look at this video or even make a comment.
I looked her because I wanted to know how navajo language sounded not because I care about religion and since very few non religion songs in native americans are up I had little choice
thats sad, how u choose a religion of white people instead of being proud of ur local religion with I belive is a better religion if u love nature
true that. i'm not saying i have anything against native americans being christian. but i also think it is sad that it was originally forced upon them instead of them choosing it.
Very Beautiful song, Reminds me of my late Husband when he used to encourage for me to sing the Navajo Gospel Songs to him, he was Lakota but could understand me when I talked to him. I am Navajo from Pinedale New Mexico but been Married up here for 33yrs until my Husband passed on in Apri l2nd, 2009, Live in Thunder Butted SD. Now I am alone but still pray everyday for Guidance from above.
This rendition of Amazing Grace is so so beautiful. Proves many things but the first one which comes to my mind is that God's Amazing Grace is just so so very beautiful that it transcends all languages. Praise our Great God for his Amazing Grace.

Correction: Instead of my typo "we did with those of Israel" I meant to say, wouldn't Usen/Creator have provided us.....please excuse my error.

I am working on a fiction novel that is based largely on history that goes back to the mid 1800's and to 1980's Arizona. If there are any Navajo or Apache viewers who would be interested in a correspondence with me to check periodically on authenticity and correctness to what I an writing.

I am a white American and would change in a heartbeat what was done to the chinese, blacks and Indians by white men. We can all live in this world peacefully if we let go of our EGO and just love no matter what color, religion, or differences.

CdtSSgtTso 1 year ago
@CdtSSgtTso Christian religion was a rebellion of Jesus against his own people. His people, under the occupation of the Romans, became frustrated and too strict. So jesus wanted to spread a message of love to his OWN people. The only christians on the world should have been some jews converted. NEVER EVER, leave your TRUE traditions. Look at us Europeans now, we are having the greatest identitystruggle ever now...
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 Jesus is God and therefore all peoples and nations are His. You don't need to give up your traditions or the pride in your people to believe in Jesus, because no culture or people can say they own him more than the others. Chistianity isn't "white" or "European", it started in Asia and and belongs to the whole world. Europeans too gave up their old religions to convert into Christianity.
Feanorielle 1 year ago
@Feanorielle That is your belief. I do believe each people is unique and has its own god(s). I know you don't need to give up traditions, but when for example the Germanic festivities got christian contexts, were they still germanic and the true traditions then? I think not. Europeans didn't give up their religion. Some traitor kings and loners gave up their pagan religions and slaughtered and forced christianity unto others.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 Do you say person can't choose what he believes, but is forced to believe what ever the people around him happen to believe? I'm sorry but I happen to believe in free will, and cannot accept such view. And to say that all peoples have their own gods is stupid. Each gods say they are the only right ones, and each religion claims to be true. If they exist at the same time, their gods are liars. And different religions have different truths, so some of them must be in wrong.
Feanorielle 1 year ago
@Feanorielle But what about identity? Christianity and islam just smashed all other religions and cultures away! Science proves what is wrong and what is right. The Gods are what we make of them. I believe gods exist, and that certain people have certain gods. Those gods made them. Yahweh made the jews, Odin the Germanic people,... This explains variation and evolution.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 I choose my own identity. If my family and people would worship gods I don't believe in, I wouldn't join then just to make them happy. And as I said, not all religions can be true. It's very simple. Abrahamic God says He is the only one and there is no other gods. Either there is no other gods or He is a liar, and the religion decicated to Him is in wrong. Same goes for other religions. Not all can be right at the same time.
Feanorielle 1 year ago
@Feanorielle The bible doesn't say there aren't any other gods. It is only forbidden to abide them. The first commandment says it, i don't know it in correct english but it goes something like this: Thou shalt not abide other gods at my expense. So this actually means there are other gods, but you are not allowed to worship them, cause he is a "Jealous" god. Every religion in the world is/was polytheistic. There are other gods, not just 1!
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Feanorielle The bible, Koran, Thora, ... You can't take them literally, you have to read them metaphorically. It is interesting to read them, so you can see how certain groups of people thought about certain objects. The gods work in different ways, they don't look and behave like humans. They are certain forces, powers,... we can't see, feel or hear... etc. What the gods are, is for science to decide and discover. But the values, traditions,... are what we choose, the best way: ancestral way.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 They can be taken very literally, actually that's the only reasonable way to take them: once you decide the'rey just written by mortal humans with no supernatural source, they become only random books and you can as well drop them there. And there isn't any ancestral way. Cultures have changes dramatically and genes have flown. I could as well come from Finno-Ugric, Germanic or Hellenic sources.
Feanorielle 1 year ago
@Feanorielle You have to take them metaphorically, if you take'm too serious we'll be back in the dark ages, especially with abrahamistic religions. You have to learn to read those books metaphorically and learn from the wisdoms that are in it. But yeah, the way you react, is primordial to the christian dogmatic thinking. Don't make the mistake my Ancestors made. Don't convert, and if you do, don't take the book litterally!
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 We dissagree because we look for different things. You want to find something real in this life and this world, and ethnic identity is your answer. Religions are just one piece of forming that identity. I'm not interested in such things. I'm interested in the issues of the next life, and finding the truth abouth God and universe. Identity, ethnicity and this life aren't such a big deal for me.

chidii19 1 year ago
@chidii19 Simple? LOL, i'm simple? Pagans don't have creationists on their side. The only reason europe became christian or any other people, is because it was brought to them by force, not because they believed. Let the big questions be answered by science, the questions that will never be answered, that is where the gods are working, the way we live, should be the (true, ethnic) culture of the people. I'm not a semite, and thus i will never follow a semite religion!

@Metaldude1945 I can tell u something I just came back from the navaho rez where my navaho partner and I went to preach, there´s too much need of Jesuschrist, a lot of alcoholism and hitchhikers all over the rez., they really need Jessuchrist!! if Christianity has nothing to offer? why is that unbelievers come to God´s people to set them free from their captivity??
lizetita1974 1 year ago
@lizetita1974 1st Alcoholism is also to be found with aboriginals, those are just cultures that didn't grow up with alcohol like european cultures + natives, aboriginals,.. are in a state of misery: suicide and alcoholism and all that grows. What concerns Europe, christianity was FORCED upon us by some minorities. However, your situation could also be declared as a inferioritycomplex. The natives see that the whites are having it so much better, and that christianity is better organised.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@lizetita1974 (recaption)...better organised. Christianity has churches, a pope, a strict and large hierarchy like priest, pope, cardinals,... etc. The natives think that, just like in ancient Europe, the celts saw that the Romans were far more superior, and they were christian, so they thought if they followed that God, they would get that power too. But Rome was already great during pagan times, Rome even collapsed in their christian period. But the inferioritycomplex has a lot to do with it.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@lizetita1974 What the natives need, is identity and being more demanding to whites, who stole their land. Indians need to believe in their own strengths, they need to take a step away and more seperation from the white/black/latino people and go your own way. Give up everything of which you know, white people brought it, and didn't do you good. Do you know how retarded Europe was during the christian dark ages? Don't make the same mistake!
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945We have the nations of "white" people who ar fascinated with our ways but there is only one real path, the path to Christ. In our traditional ways we have to follow 20+ guidelines or commandments to make it to the "happy hunting grounds" that's impossible! With Christianity there are only 10, and we still have the hardest times following those. Pagans can do their thing i could care less if it's being revived, I will continue to follow Jesus and teach others to do the same.
dhlargo 1 year ago
@dhlargo What did the white man do for you, that is any good? He destroyed your lands, because christianity told him it was ok. They who are not christian ought to be converted and if they do not, they must be killed. It is our history but then in America. Think very good now, dhlargo, what has christianity and the white people brought to you, that was of any good value for you and your people? Your people still have chance to be pure and to persue their identity, do it now before it's too late.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@dhlargo 20 GUIDELINES, not commandments. The only religions that have real commandments and dogmas are the abrahamistic religions. The guidelines are as the word guideline means, they are advices. The religion wants you to be a good person. It's not a big deal if you fail once or if you make mistakes, it's okay. Christianity just really is killing your culture, your roots, who you are. Hell, christianity killed every culture it has crossed path with.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 If christianity was killing my people I'd be dead. You can take a gun and say it's deadly, but if it sits on the kitchen table it's nothing. Once it's in ones possession, the person with the weapon decides wether it's gonna be good or evil. Back then they didn't know better being a racist doesn't serve any kind of a good cause either. I have been kicked off my land by the whites, not just my ancestors, but MY family. I choose not to be a racist. I am a Follower Of Christ
dhlargo 1 year ago
@dhlargo It's not a matter of racism, it's a matter of treason. By this you betray all your ancestors who have died because of the christian religion.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 Jesus Christ Was not white, his views were just blown out of proportion by the europeans. People like you feel that they had to force religion onto people unlike yourself. You can't just accept what people do with their lives. I will continue to be a strong Navajo with Faith in Christ, while you feel the need to force people to believe what you believe. Much like the peoople who threw a wrench in my ancestors traditional ways. Are you Native American?
dhlargo 1 year ago
@dhlargo Yeah, i know jesus christ wasn't white. He was a middle eastern person. I'm not native American. I am Flemish, of the land Flanders which is in Belgium. My religion is Ásatrú, which is/was the religion of all Germanic peoples. Some gods you might know such as Odin, Thor, Tyr, Freya, Nerthus,... I hate the fact christianity has destroyed all these rich cultures. The same happened to your peoples and others around the world. Cause it is in the nature of christianity and islam to convert.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 So you as a non-Native American feel you have the right to tell people they're wrong and that they NEED to believe in their own traditional God. If your people came to the Land soon to known as America what would have kept them from trying to convert The locals to Asatru? If they were as conceited and determined as you are, they The Flemish would have succedded. We can't change the fact that things have happened in the name of God, whichever he may be, but we can choose.
dhlargo 1 year ago
@dhlargo Hmm, you understand me wrong. I am simply disgusted for what the Europeans did to you, and that you(plural) are christian now. Second, what you said about the converting to Ásatrú is wrong. Because the old pagan religions of all European peoples were religions where ancestry is important, i think that is the case in the native american religions. Never in history did the Romans for example try to convert germanics to the Italic religion, cause we were not of their ancestry.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude Yes i did misunderstand you. I have in the past hated christians only because they were like "them" the conformists. I have respect for christians now and am starting to see where you're coming from. I feel if they knew we already had our own religion it might have been diffferent. They did not understand the natives, our ways or our many languages. A lot of people now try to make up for it but only make it worst. Paying natives with casino money for example. very fukt up idea
dhlargo 1 year ago
@dhlargo You can respect christianity, I respect it too, but i see it as a time/historically evolution of the jews. It actually is not a good religion for us nor for you natives. Jesus tried to sooth and calm his people down in his time and region. Jesus' thoughts are one big reaction to the misbehaviour of the leaders and the Romans and the bittered by this all jewish civil population. It does not reflect us Europeans nor Indians or other people.

I don't have bad intentions at all. Call me a lost romantic soul, I like authenticity and peoples in their authentic and first stages. That's why i love all these old European, African, American,...etc religions, cultures, languages,... etc
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@dhlargo You have to understand that religion used to be especially back in the middle ages also a part of politics. Christianity should have been kept the religion of some individuals, and should have not been so widely converted. I would have accepted the following situation: Paganism for the largest part of the people, and christianity for some who felt better with that.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@dhlargo Shouldnt excuse them altogether though, its those "few" who try to spread it like a disease regardless. (have a fanatic in the family :) )
mbenall3 7 months ago
@dhlargo (Read other answer first), So we wouldn't have converted you to our religion. Nor did the other way around happen, didn't it? Natives didn't try to convert Europeans to the native american religion if i'm correct. Christianity and especially islam are agressive converting religions. I am sorry for you indians( is this word an insult actually?) that you've lost/ are losing your culture to a relgion which has proven to be a agressive, dumb & despoiling religion in European history.
Metaldude1945 1 year ago
@Metaldude1945 In some areas of the Navajo reservation the religion is highly aggressive, and in others passive. The point is, Christianity on the reservation pushes on to "save" those "lost" Navajo souls. Ive even seen really extreme forms of it recently, to the point where tribal members are encouraged to burn medicine bundles and sacred ceremonial paraphernalia. To say the least, its quite sickening. But oh well.
mbenall3 7 months ago
@mbenall3 See, converting religions are dangerous. It behaves like a sect. Should you have respect for a religion that tells your ways are despicable and disgusting? Stick to your roots, it's all you still have, my native american friends... Don't let them eradicate you entirely, nor ethnically, nor culturally, nor linguistically...
Metaldude1945 7 months ago
@Metaldude1945 well yes that true. it's important to keep tradition alive. but dont we hav the freedom to choose our own religion now? it's not like anybody is forcing us with a whip at hand. we're choosing this for ourselves. @Metaldude1945 I'm not sure about this one, but the Cherokee version of this song actually refers to the great spirit and not the christian god.
NirobiQ 8 months ago
@NirobiQ God has many names. "great spirit" may be the only word or phrase in their language to express God. And just to let you know it's not just the Christian God, because he is the God of all, if you do not recognize him is your own affair.
GodWarrior7771 3 months ago
@GodWarrior7771 Yes, but each deity is very different among religions, as well as the beliefs.
NirobiQ 3 months ago
@NirobiQ You misunderstand, I'm referring that God has many names for himself, not referring to the many other religions of the world.
GodWarrior7771 3 months ago
@GodWarrior7771 Ok, you're free to believe whatever you want to, but I personally do not believe in the Christian God.
NirobiQ 3 months ago
@Metaldude1945 It has everything to offer. How can you stand there and blame us for "victimizing" when it's people like you that are a stumbling block for men and women searching for Christ. Our identity has been distorted over the ages and you have the nerve to point us back to the times of the lost.
GodWarrior7771 3 months ago
@GodWarrior7771 How can you betray your ancestors like that? Everything they fought for and died for, and you just do what the white man told you to do. Tecumseh must be turning in his grave.
Metaldude1945 3 months ago
@Metaldude1945 I haven't betrayed my ancestors, as we are all formed from the grace of God. I don't follow Christ because the white men (or any kind of man) led me to do so, I found him on my own. I owe allegiance to Christ, not man.

true that. i'm not saying i have anything against native americans being christian. but i also think it is sad that it was originally forced upon them instead of them choosing it.
