i was given a cassette tape of theirs two months ago... i now own almost everything they ever made :) music like this, is why i have hope for our future.. its timeless to me and please people , dig out your closets for music - i want to hear!!!! most people these days don't have anything but itunes and radio and silly friends... give them something you heard 20 years ago!! please - psst let me hear :) hugs love you cocteau twins ....
The sound of the bass guitar on this track is simply amazing. Peter Hook, Steve Severin, and Simon Raymonde captured such amazing tones with their distorted basses. Beautiful.
there's one thing i don't like very much in cocteau twins studio recordings. liz's voice is mixed too low and with too much reverb IMO.and that's a real pity, 'cause their music is terrific. that's why i like so much live performances like this one where we can hear all the colors and appreciate how she plays with it.

here she sings ! other times she just screams and acts weird. but this is very nice!! :)~ when she came to san Diego I was so disapointed she came on stage there were no musicians just a play back ! that night mazzy star did the opening Hope sandoval was way much better than elizabeth that night. I walked out of there and got my first Mazzy star CD.
there must be something in the air in sweden, which made liz fraser delivered a top notched live performance. i have often been disappointed seeing and hearing her live, but here she really delivered vocally. any chance you may have videos of dead can dance's live performance in stockholm from 1984 and bel canto's dewy fields.
b.t.w barrycw1, F.Y.I. what Liz has is a diastima, so does Madonna (please dont think I am comparing the two in anyother way, Please!), and so do I as do many other beautiful people. There is a difference between unstraight teeth and a diastima. and despite what you may think, I got it all off my chest quite nicely. Thank you.
Santohassong apparently likes arguing about "nothing". Liz has beautiful unstraight teeth and is musically incarnate beauty, therefore my love. BTW, this is no place to clear your chest or empty head.
Hi barrycw1, I wasn't arguing at all. simply stateing a point of view. I still think her teeth are lovely...and her voice...her face...all of her....glad you enjoy her too.
continuation of response to barrycw1...just because they arent identical to the big horse teeth that models flash on magazine covers doesn't mean that Liz's are any less beautiful.why are people so easily influenced by what is popular as opposed to being influenced by what their hearts and eyes know to be beautiful? Greatfully most cocteau fans are quite capable of enjoying what is real as opposed to what is widely accepted as "cool". *clears throat* glad it's off my chest.
I notice that on the stage, whether in live concerts like this, or on their music videos, they always feature the reel to reel. Is this symbolic or is part of what makes up Cocteau Twins' sound, what's playing on the reel to reel? Can anyone answer this?
WOW! You've totally made my day. Every week I type "Cocteau Twins" in the search field hoping to find something like this. I'd rate it 100 starts if possible.

As a young man, and a "Cocteau Twin" fan from the early 1980's, I somehow
imagined that I was hearing melodies and rythms reminiscent of a celtic
lullaby, or sometimes what I imagined to be a Druidical rite! I thought these
things years before I became aware of the bands "Caledonian" origins!

30 years! I believe her to have one of the most unique voices ever, and
her talent is unasailable!
