don't military doctors make significantly less then their civilian counterparts though? I don't think money should be an argument. I'm not knocking military med, i'm currently applying to USUHS

mack4020-- during residency (3+ years after medical school) military doctors make MUCH more money. After that, it DOES depend upon your specialty with some civilians making much more, some making less. After you pay back your military time, you can go civilian, though many stay in because of the good people. Best of luck!
