  • for sure, there was a billion people watching it.

  • Olympics got no business with Tibet..............

  • A lot of jealous birdshitskins in this world. The lowly, inferior white birdshitskin race.

  • I find a very funny thing...Chinese people as myself think we are happy with our life in China, but those people who never been China before think chinese live in hot water, chinese people's life are painful because their goverment....and when I tell them NO, I am HAPPY with my life as chinese in china. They think i am crazy, i am fooled by my goverment.....HOW STUPID They are!!!!!!

  • of course, you are happy. china's goal creating a perfect socialist society has been under way since 1949 and it is almost complete. in this marxist paradise, there are no capitalists, only hard working happy proletariats like yourself dedicated to the communist state. no private property, no bourgeois distractions, only true revolutionary spirit. long live, chairman mao.

  • @xileila1986 They're the ones fooled and brainwashed by their western government and media.

I liked my life better in China, and we were not a rich family.

  • They said they don't watch but I think they sure watch secretly. Stupid question! Human Right? You better settle all your recessions and bankruptcies before busybody on other nations.

  • how childish the westerners are.hehehe.....

  • Stupid and nasty people for those negative people.

  • Looser!

  • pathetic

  • Is it he or she at 2:04

  • stupid swess at 1:13

  • fucken red necks

  • I did watch the Olympics and they were great.

Great success for China with 51 Gold Medals, but also for 87 different nations who won at least one medal and 55 of them won at least one gold.

  • Human right? Tibet? This question only happening in the Western media...not to be hypocrite anymore! You must go to China before giving comment.

  • @ang10071 To be honest here (And pardon me for making this short) Why the heck do people even yell "Free tibet" when that isn't what tibet, nor the dalai lama want? Don't they both want Tibet to be a special administrative district? Oh well... Listen, the thing is No country is perfect and we need to stop buying into false information that the news tries selling us in bite sized sound bytes.

    I'm just sayin.

  • i watched, all of it, and i loved it. best olympics of of all time.

sports is sports, lets leave poltics aside.

  • the guy at 1:25 is just too stupid...

  • Undeniable and an unforgettable success. these Olympics had the most ever countries present and the most records broken, and nobody can forget the beeautiful opening and closing ceremonies. I still don't understand why some people are still talking crap about China, they gave us the best Olympics we've ever seen.

    Thank you Beijing!

  • lol!!! all those idiots can go to hell , the olympics was a HUGE success for China. in the end it all turned out great. 51 gold medals, which is what really counts.

  • Every athlete from those 87 countries who won at least one medal are huge winners.

  • stupid question

  • these people look so foolish... they have been brainwashed by biased distorted news media... wow... well beijing was a HUGE success...

  • however chine did a perfect job

  • stupid question

  • Volleyball game today (The last day), Brazil vs. USA, round 2, Bra a bit behind, one of the hosts, ex Miss HK said: Don't be afraid, Bra won the first round anyway, a few more points, Bra shall win. Who the hell was afraid? Why should hosts give comments? They should just announce the situation, neither comments nor bets. I hate it when ppl wish to see USA loses.

  • you guys are retards haha. They are just giving their opinion, no rippin on your country. the controversy with china is a big issue as well. where is sports not linked to politics you dumbass? did you just come out of the woom? some teams cant have players due to politics, and that would have a huge affect of countries. Dont talk, thinking you know whats good of sports and politics. "olympic" is not a sport. This is why asians have such a bad name.

  • stupid bitch, if you dont know shit about a country dont fucking open your mouth... you and all of the world have no clue what china is like. all you have are fucked up documentaries which create a negative atmosphere about the country... go visit the fucking country before u open your damn trap and bullshit...

  • and people who talk about censoreship, the thing they block is porn and porn-related, and what the fuck?i hate it when you people think that you can save the people in china, who do you think you are? mind your own fucking business, go back to america and get brainwashed man, der is 1.3 billion pppl in china, if america's population were that large, i do not think that you can maintain your HUMAN RIGHT and personal FREEDOM. ... and once again, wtf? olympic is sport, dnt link it with politics

  • stupid tv program for linking politics and sports together. - - . olympic exist so that politics don't matter during it. wtf is wrong wiv the ppl man? think about it, ppl in america think its violation of human right, wtf bro? people in america owns guns. imagine that happened in china? - - . half of the ppl would have died ... and to codegaard. incase you dnt know but america have more carbon emmision than chn, and china have more people ...

  • very stupid question, its the most watched olympics ever and for the love of God can we drop fucking politics and all this bullshit for once every four years

  • i have actually been to china. we went to beijing and singapore and some other cities, and it really wans't as bad of country has i had taught. they are really open to the west and are just as curious about us as we are of them

  • why arent u watching the olympics....?

    um...im too busy working.

    hate these ignorant fucks

  • people have jobs to do, pay for bills, not just being entertained and having their parents pay for everything. Tune into reality dumbfuk

  • racist

  • I hate this fucking dumb bitch. Go suck some more dick instead journalism is not your thing you got no talent and brains for it.

  • shes just asking a question "will you watch the olympics" and you get so anal and shit. Dont get your panties in a knot. fuking child.

  • Are you deaf son? If she was merely asking that question then she wouldn't be saying "controversy" every 5 seconds in the video. Learn to listen.

  • ppl, pls! if you've never been to the country, you don't have the right to criticize it. all that 'facts' you think you know by watching what ur local media feeds you is so not enough. i've been to china and the ppl there are pretty damn happy from what i see. you have no idea how much benefits the chinese government have already given the ppl in tibet. you have to find truth yourself. try reading sth extra, maybe from the library? or even visiting china?

  • very very stupid question...70 million tuned in to watch anywayz.

  • Stupid question!

  • Why care about who's watching and who's not. There are 1.3 billion local audiences back home. They won't affect the revenue from broadcasting in China, their local media has already paid for that years ago. These people won't get their visa to China anyway, nor afford to pay the air fare neither

  • Watch the Olympics? 4.3 BILLION people world-wide watched the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, the most watched TV show in the world.

  • everybody is my friend

  • LOL YOU MAKE LAUGH U GET thmbs up =D

  • er...watch or not? who cares?

anyway, all athelets are hero 2 me 4 the games!!

  • What a stupid question! What's with your agenda? You are just looking for an opportunity to criticise China.

  • Yay for me...I don't have a TV to watch it on o.O

    All I need is YOUTUBE

  • ..Whooooa.. Leah ur such a babe!! very sexy bcuz she doesn't try to be, love her smile & eyes, wonder if she's single??

..OLYMPICS?? oh u mean the govt sponsored propaganda events.. no thanks, I'll watch the media clip high lites on the news.. maybe!

  • this question is silly tbh, of course people would watch the olympics.

  • I'm not watching the olympics because i don't agree with The way china has done nothing to stop the conflict in Darfur, the way they treat there own people, the way they treat tibet, and how they pollute the earth. I dont agree with the war in iraq either -it's another horrible offense of human rights.

  • well thats just silly, that means your not going to be rooting for your country...

  • well obviously china is going to beat america!

so americans cant be bothered tbh.

  • what should they do to stop the conflict in Darfur? anyone from the U.S.(and many other countries)shouldn't say anything about what another country is or isn't doing to stop people from dying! and, have you ever been to China?! have you seen first hand how the people there are treated?! i have, n the people in Beijing atleast, seem pretty damn happy! most of the people i met there lead very happy lives. and, China has put 100's of millions of dollars into the construction of a better Tibet!

  • What does Darfur have to do with great moments like Michael Phelps winning 8 Gold Medals and Usain Bolt winning three from the Bird's Nest.

Don't like the Olympics, don't watch.

  • but you saw, don't you ?so foolish man

  • I did watch the Olympics and they were great.

Great success for China with 51 Gold Medals, but also for 87 different nations who won at least one medal and 55 of them won at least one gold.

  • The 2008 Beijing Olympics

  • I am aware of constipation of people who push the 'china controversies'

  • are westerners concerned about thier human rights record?

  • yes i agree with tebudamum that China really knew how to put out the opening!..and i think that sports is sports soo it shouldn't have to be involved with other problems going on..that's what the olympics all about..when all countries come together and have fun and forget about the problems..well it should be anyway. ^^

  • BEST OLYMPICS EVER!!!

  • I wish other places would stop speaking FOR China and Tibet. Their cultures are a lot different than ours and may be difficult for some people to understand... just stop listening to biased broadcasts, etc.

  • Meh. Why would I want to subject myself to more nationalistic and corporate propaganda? I get enough of that already...The athletes are just pawns in the charade.

  • Free Tibet? but aren't you free to practice religion anyway? I dont know a freaking thing about Tibet and its culture, comparing yourselves with Fa Lun Gong, you guys are very lucky....oh...you mean independent country of Tibet? sorry, tough, you are facing a tough fight with the new generations of Chinese people and leaders, but good luck.

  • I'm gonna watch the freakin' Beijing Olympics because it's full of awesome. Did u see the lighting of torch? It's brimming with awesome it's amazing.

And to the Pro-Tibet protesters, c'mon people! 9 out 10 of you don't even know what Tibet is! Ok, without googling it, what is Tibet? Where is Tibet? Where in China is Tibet? See? You guys have no fuckin clue. So shut the fuck up and watch the Olympics instead of Dr. Phil. Morons.

    Go Beijing!

  • Best Opening Ceremony ever!

  • I will be watching the olympics and i love china.

  • I'm a Chinese.I think you all don't know China. Why you talk about us seem very impersonality ?

Why non't come to china, see a inextenso China?

  • Why not come to China? Well, how about the internet censorship by your coward government that is afraid of letting people speak freely. If Chinese society is so wonderful and harmonious, why aren't its citizens allowed to speak their mind?

  • have u ever been to China?! u act like the censorship is soo outrageous! it's not. the stuff that they block, is all the negativity that countries like the U.S. say about them! oh, n porn!! haha! n atleast they don't PRETEND to uphold the right 2 freedom of speech(cough cough U.S.)! i'm from the U.S., n i have spent alot of time in Beijing. let me just say, don't believe everything u read or see on the news. we should all know that by now! U.S. will do anything to make themselves not look so bad

  • do you know the population in China?

If our government just let all citizens speak freely, what will happen?

The world war IX will emerge!

You dont know politics then please dont play politics.

  • You're a fine example of how people will begin to believe anything if they're forced fed it for long enough.

  • I have the right to believe what our country want us to believe, so do you. How do you know US didnt hide anything from your guys?

If you say no, then you are one of "fine examples of how people will begin to believe anything if they're forced fed it for long enough"!

So if you didnt know about Chinese politics, plz dont common on it.

  • I'd lay odds that you work for the Chinese government's propaganda machine. Your job is to sit online all day writing this balony.

Where are the real Chinese people? Why aren't they allowed to speak up here? Oh, I know, because they'll get thrown in jail... or killed outright.

So instead of real people, the Chinese government puts shills like you online to spew propaganda while the opinion of real Chinese citizens is oppressed.

    China sucks.

  • HaHaHa!

From your reaction, can see I won in this controverty!

Plz dont slander me and China, it's criminal!

And plz don't be rude, bec. you are representing the whold population of US.

by the way, Americans are so rude to all people.

  • why are you bsing about china?

atleast china isnt in debt like US is.

dont believe me? freaking google it or something. US owes money to other countries just to keep people happy in america.

and US owes money to china too.

if china didnt have human violation rights or w.e it is china would go crazy.

dont criticize china if you dont know shit about them.

what if china pollutes everyone pollutes.

now think about what you typed and after youre done thinking comment me back.

    if you can think.

  • haha.. actually JustDiploid, u are the one who is the greatest example of a person believing anything that is force fed 2 them. you've never been to China, yet u believe what the U.S. media tells u!! the U.S. media is the 4th branch of the government.. they tell us what to believe n they tell us what they want us to know. thankfully we can still go to the library n the book store, n read some things that may open our eyes. i'm from the U.S., and i love it, but we aren't what we claim to be. read

  • um. completely agreed.

  • China has many more laws and regulations... other countries consider it "human rights violations"... but think about it... there is 1.3 BILLION people in China!! if all of those laws and regulations were not in place, it would be CHAOS in China!! what do you think would happen if there was 1.3 billion people in the U.S.?!! who do you think would have control?!! i think the chinese government does a great job of keeping the people of China happy and content, and organized and under control.

  • human rights?

er...connecting sports with politics are unwise

  • yea...

Chinese soldiers brought Chinese flag at last during opening Ceremony.

It wasn't that wise, was it?

  • actually, in China flag raising are ALL done by soldiers for ceremonies, it makes it seem formal. Of course, seems that you were too ignorant to realize that.

  • er...i don't know the "hint". If you think more, you will relate to politics again. What do you think, croceek?

  • should it matter if we want to watch or not? it's not like we're watching it to support the chinese. we have our own athletes to cheer for. but anyhow, 'tebudamum' is right, they did put on a good show for the opening last night.

  • put eveything aside... the chinese sure know how to put on a bloody good show.

  • ridiculous interview.

just from watching the news, do these people think they know everything about china?

how much better is their country?

these people don't even use their brain.

there are so much more behind what they see in the news.

these people who are connecting the olympics with politics are just jealous of china.

  • they all live in a glass house!! they should shut the hell up! especially that prick who said "those idiots", referring to the chinese. i'm from the U.S., n i just spent 4 months in Beijing, n i LOVED IT. i will learn to speak better mandarin, n go back there to live for a couple of years, maybe longer. it isn't anything like i thought it would be.. i was misled by everything i had heard from media and whatnot for my whole life. it is beautiful, the people are great, and the history is amazing!

  • wait a minute, there is no crash down of Tibet, please find out evidence before your abuse your opinion!!

  • China maybe the host of the games but that doesn't mean the games = China. The Games have always belonged to all the participating nations, everywhere. The athletes worked hard to get there. Imagine how you'd feel if you're an athlete and people back home are saying they're not gonna care.

  • great point. majority of the people in the interveiws are morons anyway!! they obviously spend way too much time watching the news instead of doing some research and forming an opinion of their own, based on facts. unfortunately, we in the U.S. believe everything the media tells us. the government pretty much controls the media here(just as much as in China), so they mislead us into having negative thoughts about other countries, so in turn, we think the U.S. is sooo much better!!

  • Good on you~

  • haha.. Summer Palace... Forbidden City... Beijing Wal-Mart(haha)... The Deal(sneakers store) near Drum Tower... Korean Barbeque... my boy Young Kin... and all the clubs in Beijing... "good on them"!!!! haha

  • so I looked more into this, good question/answers on yahoo answers, but the thing that got me most, was that the Dalai Lama in exile in India supports it, so if he is for it...who is anyone else (likely not in exile) to oppose it? hit your google for dalai lama and tibet, most of the stories are March and april

    I'll be watching the olympics

  • communism is dinosaur... who care... watch the game.

  • Bush went to China and watched show. Only Horst Köhler's deeds accord with her words. This woman with big titties really faces a big challenge from business and commercial pressure!!!

  • I will watch the Olympics. Sports is sports. Don't mix politics with sports. China, like any countries, have her own internal problems. Which country in the world is perfect? Why are people so busy-bodies? Mind your own business. China and the Chinese people have worked very hard to host the Game. Give them a chance!

  • biased!!

they just look down on china..

  • The guy at 2:40 into the video brought up an interesting point: the U.S. is so economically dependent on China that the USOC couldn't afford to boycott the Beijing Olympics even if it wanted to.

In 1980, Italy cited trade with the Soviet Union as their reason for not joining Jimmy Carter's boycott of the Moscow Olympics; our situation now is like Italy's in 1980, but to the nth degree.

BTW, I thought we should have gone to Moscow in 1980, and I do plan on watching the Olympics this year.

  • Very True. And all these people complaining about the olympics being in China are probably buying Chinese products everyday, supporting Chinas economy. Besides, the olympics should be a time of open relations and negociations. The thing about nationalism is usually people who are nationalistic need an enemy. If people are truly for peace and progression they would drop the nationalist commentary and way of thinking.

  • This is a ridiculous interview. Olympic is Olympic. Do not put them together. Also, don't you think all media you are receiving your news today are biased? Think deeply in your mind. Do some research. Do not depend only on the media. All info are heavily biased.

  • most of the old people in america are anti-chinese and still stuck in the old cold war mentality of 'we are better'. whereas the younger americans couldnt give a damn shit what happens in china, its their business!

  • Well that guy is just a typical old skool red neck hick who prob never traveled abroad. Those people are brainwashed by US propaganda beyond repair.

  • cnn bbc they always biased when report on china news. i used to dislike china, but now I hv changed and i'm pity on china and their ppl. China Go China!!

  • STFU I'm an American citizen don't call me dumb.

  • Every 5 minutes we hear about what a great economic power they are becoming and how they're going to eclipse us blah, blah, blah...We hear this even though they have officially not been an economic basket case for about 10 years.

  • Should any Chinese also ask:Are you goin to watch 2012 London Olympics and future fucking American Olympics?? Feel free to leave a comment!! Shut the fuck up A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N-S!!

  • Yes I will, and laugh so hard, at them. :)

  • yes i will, cuz no country is perfect.

  • Who are the real idiot(s) here? That reporter is pathetic!

  • i agree lol

  • Should any Chinese also ask:Are you goin to watch 2012 London Olympics and future fucking American Olympics?? Feel free to leave a comment!! Shut the fuck up A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N-S!!

  • The people against China seem extremely vague when they need to give reasons for their stance.

  • The funny part is that if ur guys do not wanna China hold the game why ur guys choose her? Dose American gavernment do it well in Irac and middle east? why ur guys do not reject ur gavernment? China do need freinds in the world but we do not choose the way to kiss American's ass!!! Ur opinions and views will force China improve herself and after years we will give the world an briliant answer!

  • i agree with your point. The controversy is that China stood up independent of United states and China doesn't kiss its ass unlike many other countries.

  • Does any of you Americans have any idea what China is like nowadays? If you haven't been there yourself, and if you believe in all the TV networks, and if you spell 'Beijing' as 'Beejing', then SHUT THE HELL UP. A controversy is a thing with two stories, what makes you believe in the one side that makes China look bad? You have your own brain at all??

  • I wouldn't watch, not with all this crap their damn government in China is doing, fucking niggers are killing babys and then they sell them off to reasturants or where ever so people eat them. Like theres even pictures on youtube of Chinese people eating babys. ITS DISCUSTING. I hope there will be terroists in Beijing to blow the hell out of them and all there damn factories so this popution ends too.

  • Stupid Ass-hole!!!!!!

  • God! we donot eat baby!! If that China will have not be the largest population.

  • eat babies? are u crazy? where did you hear from?!

  • Hey! For me I can't wait for the Olympics this year!! I recently checked the list of all the different events and some I have never heard of. So I wanna check them out this year! Go team U.S.A!!!

  • *le sigh*

i cant believe how uninformed or how people just don't CARE about tibet, darfur or the shit happening in CHINA.

  • CHICAGO IS GOING TO WIN!!

SOOO BEiJiNG CLEAR THAT SMOGGY ASS AiR!

  • you mean fog

  • NO i MEAN SMOG..THANK yOU

  • are you in Beijing?

  • wow all you Americans are fucktards and idiots, everything you see on Television you believe, for god's sake, if you peeps were intelligent, all of it is just propaganda. China isn't as bad as it seems, and i ain't even asian, shit

  • yep, true, I totally agree with you. USA is still in war, budget being cut...so it's not as bad too. lol.

  • i agree with everything you said the media makes China sound so bad.

  • Let's go to American!! I heard that it is a paradigm land for everyone!!! Ture??????

  • no, the people are. watching the olympics is fun and amazing.

  • dont watch it or comment on it then asshole! china is the hyperpower and the usa relies heavily on china! without china the usa economy is fucked!

  • 1000s of people dedicate their lives to compete at the olympics, so why can't people just fuck the politics for 2weeks and embrace this celebration of sporting talent.

  • no i wont :)

  • How come they take 30 years old footages of China?

  • because some people don't want to see the "now" China. They don't think positively.

  • Don't watch, fuckers. They will never learn about China. Never.

  • Its simple, the athletes shouldn't be punished for the Olympic Committees vote on location =D

  • I'll watch. Why shouldn't I?

  • im watching

  • I will call sick at work and watch the game

  • seriously, by you me not watching the olympic.. will it help the controversy in any way?

  • i will watch =]

  • people must really be living in a bubble if they aren't even aware of what's going on in the world. that's just sad. and what's worse are people who don't even care.

  • I'm aware of the all the controversy, I don't agree with any of it, but that won't make me skip watching the olympics.

  • I'm going to watch it

  • I'm actually glad this came up, because while I watch some of the Olympic coverage, I was wondering what you are "supposed" to watch I know for the rights part, at least they suggest a "boycott" by not watching on 8-8-08

  • I wouldn't call anyone an idiot. I believe it'll be okay for anyone to watch the Olympics.

  • Apparently it China's Marxist style oppression doesn't bother many. There is so much oppression around the world, that we would have to become hermits to avoid patronizing human rights abusers.

  • The issues in China are only the differences that make them Chinese as apposed to what makes us Americans. We have values that they don't. And for us to think that we are better than, is to say that we rule, and we don't. So let them destroy their health and freedom, that's their choice. We as Americans should not try to save the world. Just who do we think we are anyway GOD???

  • I never watch the olympics.

  • This is the most retarded video I've ever watched in my life. Your questions for people should merely be "will you be watching the Olympics this year, why or why not." What is this bullshit about asking everyone whether they are aware of controversies. Do you even know what they are yourself? Or are you just another one of the prejudice American's spitting out bs that's been spoonfed to you. People like you Leah makes me sick

  • i agree

    sounds flamebaiting and creating issues

  • she is totally an idiot.

  • Lea you are an idiot ditz the mere fact that you are talking about controversies in China when it should be just about the games itself shows you're bias. Instead of just following what everyone else says why don't you just relax and respect the efforts that have been put into the event.

  • Personally, I don't think the "controversy with China" should in any way affect the Olympics. I will watch as much as I can. It's somewhat hypocritical of some people to say they won't watch because of how badly China treats its own people, yet those same people who refuse to watch the Beijing Olympics are wearing clothes made by the people they, in some respects, are turning their back to. The Olympics were always a time for peace, unity, and competition, since Athens and Sparta.

  • good and fair comment,dude

  • I only watch the track and field throwing events to support my fellow throwers and observe their professional technique.

The fact that it's being held in China doesn't matter, if the olympics were being held in any other country I would still watch it.

  • not a very wise choice.

  • Lol, it's funny how ignorant you're, what do you think China doesn't have nuclear bomb to nuke your own country back. lmfao

  • I always watch Olimpic ,, so I don't see a reason to do not watch it this year,, and because it's in China,, who cares? It's all about sport!

    Sport Rules ^^

    Great vid btw ;)

  • Your question is not "will you watch?", but instead "Are you aware of the controversy?" count the number of times you asked this question.

  • is tha a dude at 2:05

  • of course ..watch tv is show..not a thing with other..asking this kind of stubid question...is so uneducated...whats that have to do with watch or not...u like the show u will watch..u don't like then because you not interes on that...Y some people always like to make the beijing olym pic into a problem game instead of supported it....some of u just know a little and u think u know it all,,,

  • quite agree with you

  • in australia they're absoloutly OBSESSED with the olympics, they've cancelled all the good shows so it can be aired 24 hours and all the commercials on tv are olympics....i cant wait till its over!....But I like watchin the gymnastics

  • i wont watch =_=

  • i can not wait to watch the beejing olympics games... china has already 1.3 billions audiences, that is enough, don't need any outsiders...
