@leafyutube That depends, are you the only one judging it? It's more about getting out there and seeing what's good and what coincides with what you think you want to write right now.
This was very helpful. I'm just starting to use whatever writing skills I presently have on my youtube channel, which have otherwise been lying dormant inside of me for 57 years. Minus all the years it took me to learn how to read, of course. What was that? About 18 years? Can't remember. I'm a product of the California public school system, you understand. Fortunately, once I turned 18, I did not have to "unlearn" anything. My mind was a perfectly blank slate.
Nice video. Well worth the two minutes watching. Several authors encourage upcoming writers to keep writing, write through writers-block, good incite. Thanks.
Ridley Pearson is very true in his words. I suffer writers block for months, and so far the best way to beat it is to write and not care what you write but just to write
Thank you so much. I have known I wanted to be a writer for 5 years. I have started many books but only finished two. Yes I plan to finish all of them. I don't know why I keep thinking yes I want these books on the shelves but then not writing. Well whatever it is I'm not going to do it anymore. I love writing and because of that I'm going to make sure I take time out of each day and write till my hearts content because I need to do something for me, and I love doing it so much. Thank :)
Thank you for your advice, I would save up to buy one then. I don't even care if it doesn't have the Internet on it, as long as it types and plays music, or even it is older than Windows XP, Vista, or 7, haha. Your English is pretty good than most. Oh yeah, do you think it's important to have a nice "comfort zone" to sit down and write something?
That was a good video. I am a published poetry writer, but I want to publish stories. I have like 8 or 9 stories in my head, that just been impatiently waiting to be written. I could only write when I'm listening to my mp3 player, but i don't have one. Or I will write when the time and place are right. I used to love writing on paper, but now, I love typing in Word Processor, because it's so much easier. Should I just buy a lap top to satisfy my needs?
I used to think that the handwriting, going through brain, coming out of my hand was more worth than a typed version, but I was wrong. It is easier. And the blank book I used to write my stories into has become a very serious notebook, in which I sometimes write whole scenes. Later on I have all the ideas written down and can overwork it til its perfect on the computer
(englisch is not my first language, so excuse mistakes).
I wrote a fiction novel called, "The Spiritual Trial of Nathaniel Hollandsworth." I am very proud of my piece and have been in pursuit for the last 3years.. I've recd a couple of rejections letters and at times I get a little discouraged. This youtube video is truly inspirational!!!;)
I know how encouraging it can get. But if you look at some works that have been published lately (Stephanie Meyers ...cough) you realize it is more luck than anything. Most importantly, dont let it discourage you from the fact that you ARE good. I guess thats the whole point.
Best ego boost: Show it to a lot of people you know. :)
And for the video: Truly inspirational. I decided to favourite and watch it every time before I start sitting down writing.
I am nineteen-years-old and I have written a memoir entitled, "The Impossible Dreams of Teenagers," documenting the six-year odyssey of a group of teenagers, attempting to make a groundbreaking feature film by the time they graduate high school.
The book is a two-year work in progress and I am now in the process of looking for a literary agent.
Nice. Hey, my channel has many free lessons in writing, from plotting, to show and tell, to creating suspense. Just click my nick, and then browse my playlist. People say they've learned more from my videos than they ever did taking writing courses. That makes me feel good.
If you enjoy my vids, spread the word.
Feel free to post a video response of one of your videos.
I was really on the fast track for success when I was finishing high school(had teachers' encouragement, awards). In my 1st year of college, I wrote a 320 pp novel; when I reread it, I realized that it wasn't as great as I'd hoped it would be. Five years later, I now have an idea I love, and I feel POWERLESS TO WRITE IT. I've sorta 'stuck to it', and still nothing good comes from it. I feel like dying.
Dude. Just write. Write for yourself. Work hard at it. Don't care what others think. If you have an idea that you absolutely love, WRITE IT!!! Keep at it, work at it, work hard at it. Don't give up, no matter how much you feel like dying.
Your writing sucks and it'll never be good because you obviously have no confidence in it. How can you write something that you don't even like and not realize it until you're gone. That's because befre you were driven by passion. not you're not. remember why you write in the first place and your writing will be perfect in your eyes if no one elses.
This is truly an inspirational video. Winning my first editors choice award was the best feeling and it is hard when you write but if you write from the heart it turns out perfect ! Thank you for sharing this inspirational video with me.
Goodness, I needed this right now. Thank you!

If you have the money, I would recommend.

one more thing.
I also listen to music while writing (makes it easier to fload, doesnt it?).
If you buy a lap top you can put all your music on it, and listen over the headphones.
That way you wouldnt even need an MP3-Player (mine is broken, too.)
greetings from germany.

Marcelle,
I'm quite impressed. You're insulting someone else's writing abilities yet you have a few grammatical errors within your paragraph. Good day!
