Dr. Hunter is a wonderful Christian leader and a good man. My family are adherents to his theology. He says: "We will all be held accountable." and I must ask, with all due respect to Evangelical theology, "If you're saved, so what?" In the Evangelical construct I can't find anywhere that "being held accountable" means anything of lasting importance. So, I agree entirely with Dr. Hunter's conclusion, we will be held accountable, but I don't know if Evangelicals do. What's the consequence?
Rev. Joel Hunter, a Florida pastor who serves on the White House Faith-Based Advisory Council, "I'm here not only to endorse this bill, but [also] to challenge all well-meaning pro-life people to support this bill and all that it represents in order to make a measurable difference," Hunter says.
I don't have to slander him, he did it to himself! NO MAN can say he represents God and support the killing of innocent people from conception to natural death!! Period
I am a proud (but humble!) member of Northland Church Distributed. Never have I attended a church that understands the heart of God as much, nor have I been blessed by as wonderful a pastoral leader as Joel Hunter and the Elder's Board. Yet even within our wonderful church are some VICIOUS and prideful malcontents, who question Pastor Joel and his leadership. Much of it stems from his audacity to champion a cause which is seen (erroneously of course) as "liberal". So I sigh - and pray.
A "Man of God" DOES NOT, under any circumstance, DOES NOT support the killing of any Human Being and he DOES! He is not a man of God and should stop pretending to be one!
Who are YOU to libel a man that you obviously do not know? What gave you the right to badmouth someone anyway? Joel is on record and has on many occasions profess his stance against abortion. Aside from Joel and his personal conviction, it's people like you that give Christianity a bad name, prevent the unsaved from knowing God, and mislead believers. Jesus has a warning against those of your ilk. (Mk 9:42) - to be continued
People like you spend energy propagating intolerance. You spread hatred, and promulgate spiritual arrogance, just like the Pharisees. You're blind to the kerygma. Ever tried to tally the total number of words even REMOTELY tied to "rights of the unborn" in the Bible, or for that matter, homosexuality? Do it - it's sobering. You're pushing on these below-the-belt issues because you think you're immune, and you can condemn with impunity. Well, life's full of surprises, my friend...

I know nothing about this man or his church- but I agree with what he says. Sometimes one must decipher the message from the messenger, just because you find it easy to dismiss the messenger doesn't mean that the message is wrong. Everyone has a story to tell- even those who are respected the least. We learn from both the attributes AND the sins of each other. I beleive God's role is to judge- ours is to listen and act accordingly. Reguardless of who he is- I like what he says.
