@Scinlao This is a few years old. The ship has since been redesigned and looks a lot sleeker and more in-line with what one would expect from modern Trek. We're making a new opening creds video, should be out in about 2 months. Thanks for your post!
B5 only had one pilot.. because it was an uninterrupted show, not TNG or DS9 or Voyager. It also generated several movies and some very dedicated fan made games that beat the pants of what Star Trek games I've tried that (as far as I am concerned) were created to rip Stare trek fans off.
WOW,WOW,WOW!!! I have to say to yuo guys, that was fabulous. I mena I have t give you a standing clap on that one. It was original, Yes some borrowed, but very original, clever, a true Trek opening. Very beautiful music. If you have a website to view this series please send me an email on utube so I can visit. again, triple KUDOS!
@cal369d Endurance class. She's been redesigned since this vid, which is a few years old now. New model is much sleeker. New credits to come in the next month or two featuring the new ship.
i want to see a starfleet military-non exploratory series based on starfleet special forces units combatting the likes of the domimion, borg and romulans.
I think you should go ahead and try to Develop this series of Star Trek. It can work with all the past Series. Quantum Slipstream technology, and The Borg being crippled. This can really work and I believe Paramount should get their hands on this concept.
Just a little; the E-H is a melting pot of previous Enterprise designs, so there are elements of almost all the previous Enterprises in there somewhere, both on the exterior and also the interior (the aesthetic within the ship was inspired by the E-D for example).
Grimmsleeper, please do me a BIG favor: if it is within your power to do it, please make a video of star trek kicking the crap out of babylon 5, i'm tired of seeing these videos on youtube of babylon 5 ripping up star trek.......oh and by the way this vid is SWEEEEEEEETTTTTT.
Oh come on!!!! We all know B5 is NOT ripping ideas from Star trek. Have you heard of the whole who made space stations first? I think it was B5 first. So if you do not like that that kiss my ass loser!
It's true Paramount probably ripped off JMS's idea since he pitched it to them in 1989. But don't fault the show for that. DS9 was brilliant in its own right and it attained that brilliance only after it left behind the lingering concepts from JMS's original pitch.
Dude, star trek was created in the early 60's, every sci fi creation since then has taken ideas from star trek.......EVERYONE. Star trek sets the bar by which every sci fi show/movie is judged and babylon 5 is little more than a footnote in the sci fi universe. Star Trek is on its 11th movie and B5 is on their what?.........oh right they don't have any major movies. Don't try to compare a weak sci fi show like babylon 5 to star trek cause there is no comparison.
Well that's true. Strictly speaking, the comparison is completely subjective. It's a matter of taste. Certainly modern sci-fi owes more to Star Trek than most people realize. It's effects are everywhere. I even remember an episode of Raimi's old Hercules show that had an "evil Hercules" with a goatee. But don't sell B5 short, it has endured and holds up very well. It's a different animal from Trek, but it's still good. Just not AS good in some respects.
appologies grimm, my comment was directed at 009909 and not at you, I like B5 too, but i couldn't stand by and let Trek get bashed without trying to defend it, i've watched trek for 30 years and its been my favorite with star wars a close second.
Oh, I understand. I'm just kind of playing devil's advocate a little. I enjoy both shows for different reasons. Trek means a lot more to me than B5 does but I respect B5 for what it was.
About three years ago Babylon 5 came out with a direction to DVD movie which has three different stories set in the Babylon 5 Universe. Babylon 5 isn't dead, it's warner Brothers that own the rights to the series that don't want to make new shows and the creator of Babylon 5 can't make any new Babylon 5 series or movies without Warner Brothers say so. I'm not here to defend Babylon5, but to point out that Babylon 5 was a great sci-fi series and it should be list right along side ST
Glad you liked the vid. No plans for a B5 arse-kicking though, sorry. I actually liked B5, though I do tend to favor Trek. If B5ers are bashing Trek on here, they must feel inadequate about something... their bashing itself is its own judgment because it demonstrates their inadequacy. ;)
@macw04 AWWW, But you know what B5 lasted what five years, one pilot , one spinoff that didnt last the year and a couple of TV moves. Compare to 21 years of modern Trek. Plus original, plus cartoon , plus reboot..
Is Frontier Station using quantum slip-stream or a trans-warp conduit? Or is it the more complex trans-dimensional temporal wave? Either way its freakin sweet! Well done!!!
Waitaminute here! What is this? A new show? Is it out already? I haven't even heard about this and I'm a big Star Trek fan! WTH?????How'd I miss this???
It's a script-based series, meaning there are no episodes to "watch"; they are read. We produce these trailers from time to time to help promote the series. Hopefully someday we'll be able to do do a full length CG ep but right now even these shorts take incredible lengths of time to render. Thanks for the comments!
Darn...well then, who's Randy Anderson and Cador Davis,etc..etc? You mean to tell me this is just some sort of "opening" video for a non existant production??? Blech! I feel so used! What 3d proggie did you use to make this? It looks awesome...had me fooled. So you "read" these programs? Like a book or a screen script? Hmmm?
Kind of neat how it seems like a lot of people are doing space animations anymore. Some of these animations can contend with Hollywoods best too. I wish I knew how to do it.
The names displayed here are the names of the staff members who contribute to the show; typically writers and artists. We use Lightwave to do the animations and Adobe Premiere for the editing. The music is an original composition by a gent named Peter Moore. Our episodes are released as scripts. Sorry for the confusion; I use the term "virtual series" in the description but it's not as prominent as it could be I guess.

LOL!!! nvm the supergate part...
I thought it was great, but if u think u cn do better go on. I challenge u to make a video that is overall better. A very hard challenge to win I think.
This is a great video, I wish I had the skills to do things like this as there is an RP I have been in for years that I'd make one for. The only thing I gotta ask is, where did you find the Enterprise style font?
Thanks for the comment. The Enterprise-H is an Endurance class ship. We were going for something reminiscent of the majesty of the Enterprise-D, but with some of the sleeker lines and curves of later models.
They r the ship number. Since the Enterprise is such an active Starship she has been in spots of bother before. So when the Enterprise NCC-1701 was destroyed she was replaced with Enterprise-A, and as each ship has been destroyed or decommisioned the next ship named Enterprise has always had the next letter along in its registration number.
Yeah, what "raddicalrabbit" said. On the show there have been six Enterprises (eight if you count the NX-01 from "Enterprise" and the brief glimpse of the Enterprise-J during a time travel scene from "Enterprise". We chose to start with G (and then H) because it's far enough ahead of existing movies and shows that we could do what we wanted to do with new characters etc. and not disrupt what has come before.
Is G the one in this opening? If so what is H like? Cos this looks like a cross between a Galaxy, an Intrepid and an Excaliber. If this is G can u send a link where I can see H?
hmmmm.... also @ :58 the under part of the sauser part (disk or watever it is) sorta looks like an intrepid class... maybe its just me.... yea, thats it...im insain.... that makes sence... watever... yea as you say, there are some resemblences....
Thanks a lot. We really tried to give Frontiers the feel of its televised predecessors and it's always gratifying when someone affirms that. Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes. The four primary Frontier hubs are essentially space docks with the hubs attached. The fifth (the one the Enterprise emerges from in the credits) is meant to be a larger network of hubs. By our third season, several other modules have been added making it more like a huge city in space.
Love the theme song, really gives a star trek type of feel. i usally dont pay much attention to fan series, but i'm gonna look into reading some of your scripts! :] i know that you probably dont have cg movies and stuff for things, but do you guys have any kind of concept art/sketches?
Thanks for the kind words. We've tried hard to capture the spirit of Trek in everything we do for the show. I hope you'll consider posting over on our forums and share your thoughts on the scripts.
We have several other CG bits, mostly trailers and previews. There's also a lot of CGI artwork that depict scenes from our episodes. There's also a gallery on our website that features some concept art. We don't have much in the way of sketches; almost all of our artwork is 3D.
Nope. From what I've read, Star Trek Online will be set 20 years after Nemesis. Frontiers begins about 50 years after Nemesis, so we're set further into the future.
first wow i am so impressed watch myn on me profle will u please 2nd wat class of ship is that and 3rd wats the music that is an aursom opening and did u use a game mod or was that made by u
Thanks for the comments. The ship is the Endurance Class USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-H). The song is called "A New Frontier" and it is an original work composed and performed by Peter Moore, a fan of Frontiers.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. You can find our episodes at Frontiers (dot) VirtualStarTrek (dot) com. Be warned though, they are only scripts, not full CG like our credits video. (Though we are hoping to put out a CG movie at some point.)
I liked the video, but there are a few things that are a little confusing,
Apart from the warp engines that do look like an advanced design for a Federation starship, why does the saucer section look like the Ambassador-class, and the engineering section looks similar to the Intrepid-class.
To being honest, I thought that the vessels under the name of Enterprise from the Galaxy-class would have been oval in shape, from the Enterprise-D & E & J.
Thanks for posting. With the Enterprise-H, we opted to go for a slightly retro look. An elongated saucer on the body of this particular ship didn't look quite right. But we also wanted to evoke classic Trek in the design as well. Many other ships in Frontiers do feature the sleeker, more oval look. But this ship was designed for a specific mission and her size and design is partly because of that.
I like the idea of the warp-gate, was that from the Borg, and Starfleet adapted their idea for the Federation?
The ship itself looks good, I cannot deny that, you've made it look like the Federation is back to normal, instead of battle-ready made starship, back to their exploratory mission.
you might have to explain the changes of where the Federation decided to change their starship designes back to exploration instead of battle-ready vessels.
Yeah the idea of a transwarp network is based on the Borg network, but the technology that makes it work is different.
While we've never come right out and said, "Hey this is why the Feds are building exploratory ships again" it's in the subtext of the episodes and in the heart of the mission the Enterprise is on, which is exploratory. Glad you like the design.
Well some time between the Enterprise-H, I & J, the Sphere Builders make a come back, but this time, on their own. They expand to many lightyears, and they must have destroyed Earth, becaue there's no Earth in the 31st Century, and the Borg would rather assimilate Humanity than blow Earth up.
I think your next idea lies in the starting of the Return of the Sphere Builders.
That is indeed the Enterprise-H. In the Frontiers universe, the Enterprise-F disappeared under mysterious circumstances that the show has yet to explore. The Enterprise-G was also in the series, but I'd spoil it if I explained what happened to it. ;-)
Since we've never heard evidence to the contrary, it's assumed in the Frontiers universe that the 1701-A is either in mothballs or a museum. The "E" might well be too. The "B's" fate is never mentioned in canon but we know that the original, C, and D were all destroyed. There is also an Enterprise-F in the Frontiers universe that vanished under mysterious circumstances.
What do I need to download and play these episodes...I mean i cna download it but why does it think i need some typ of painting program to run the episode!??!?!..and where can I get it if i need a new one???
The episodes aren't playable, they are scripts. You need some kind of PDF viewer to read them. (Adobe has a free Reader at their website.) Currently we are only producing video trailers for our written scripts, but we're moving towards doing more. We will be releasing a "vodcast" in the next few weeks that will a mixture of live action, CG, and traditional 2D animation. It will look at our first two years and ahead to our third.
The scripts are the show. We unfortunately don't have the time or resources to make all of them into episodes. If we did, we'd only be able to put one episode every 18 months, at best. (Similar to shows like New Voyagers.) We're able to tell much longer and more complex stories, but admittedly the format isn't for everyone. I'm hoping to do an actual animated feature after the series ends, though.
Yeah, that's actually a list of our crew members: writers, artists, and so forth. We have an alternate version with names of "actors" who play the roles, from a special episode we did in our second season.
It's not exactly a rip off. It's a fan tribute. And our artist, the guy who did these vids, is quite talented in both Trek and non-Trek artwork and animations.
Thank you, 1324TN. We can only hope notice is taken but we aren't holding our breath. I doubt I could work under the constraints of Paramount anyway. :) Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thanks for commenting, aang11. You can read our Frontiers stories at http://frontiers.virtualstartrek.com. We don't actually produce our eps in full CG as we are limited on staff. I will be producing a few short films based on a new series I'm working on, though. You can see the teaser for that in my profile, it's called "A New Trek".
Thanks for the comments. MikeTaylorLives, the composition is original, written by Peter Moore, one of our readers. It's a variation of a theme he used for an Ultima fan project, repackaged with the Courage "Trek" fanfare.
Not a bad piece of work. I stopped following Trek some years ago. Is that music lifted from Enterprise (never saw the show) or is it an original composition? Either way, it's nice.
Endurance Class? Looks like a bad cross between the Galaxy and Sovereign Classes!

I chose this vid, and instantly felt like it was star trek.
Thank you.
JediMasterKadin 4 years ago
Thanks a lot. We really tried to give Frontiers the feel of its televised predecessors and it's always gratifying when someone affirms that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Just to ask about Frontier Station - Is that a Space Dock on the bottom, and a Transwarp hub to the side?
stembuk 4 years ago
Yes. The four primary Frontier hubs are essentially space docks with the hubs attached. The fifth (the one the Enterprise emerges from in the credits) is meant to be a larger network of hubs. By our third season, several other modules have been added making it more like a huge city in space.
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
Forgot to ask - Borg or Federation created Transwarp hubs?
stembuk 4 years ago
Federation, but the basic design is based on Borg technology. A Frontiers-exclusive species, the Spirans, aided in its development as well.

Love the theme song, really gives a star trek type of feel. i usally dont pay much attention to fan series, but i'm gonna look into reading some of your scripts! :] i know that you probably dont have cg movies and stuff for things, but do you guys have any kind of concept art/sketches?
iam114 4 years ago
Thanks for the kind words. We've tried hard to capture the spirit of Trek in everything we do for the show. I hope you'll consider posting over on our forums and share your thoughts on the scripts.
We have several other CG bits, mostly trailers and previews. There's also a lot of CGI artwork that depict scenes from our episodes. There's also a gallery on our website that features some concept art. We don't have much in the way of sketches; almost all of our artwork is 3D.

Sheer brilliance, I am amazed that it has taken an avid Trekkie like myself so long to see this.
Once again, magnificent.

cool i was jsut thinking cause u got a transwarp thing on that station
sgacabouse 4 years ago
and also could i ask is it set like near the game startrek online comming out soon
sgacabouse 4 years ago
Nope. From what I've read, Star Trek Online will be set 20 years after Nemesis. Frontiers begins about 50 years after Nemesis, so we're set further into the future.
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
first wow i am so impressed watch myn on me profle will u please 2nd wat class of ship is that and 3rd wats the music that is an aursom opening and did u use a game mod or was that made by u
sgacabouse 4 years ago

NCC1701J 4 years ago
Thanks for posting. With the Enterprise-H, we opted to go for a slightly retro look. An elongated saucer on the body of this particular ship didn't look quite right. But we also wanted to evoke classic Trek in the design as well. Many other ships in Frontiers do feature the sleeker, more oval look. But this ship was designed for a specific mission and her size and design is partly because of that.
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
I like the idea of the warp-gate, was that from the Borg, and Starfleet adapted their idea for the Federation?
The ship itself looks good, I cannot deny that, you've made it look like the Federation is back to normal, instead of battle-ready made starship, back to their exploratory mission.
you might have to explain the changes of where the Federation decided to change their starship designes back to exploration instead of battle-ready vessels.
NCC1701J 4 years ago
Yeah the idea of a transwarp network is based on the Borg network, but the technology that makes it work is different.
While we've never come right out and said, "Hey this is why the Feds are building exploratory ships again" it's in the subtext of the episodes and in the heart of the mission the Enterprise is on, which is exploratory. Glad you like the design.
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
Well some time between the Enterprise-H, I & J, the Sphere Builders make a come back, but this time, on their own. They expand to many lightyears, and they must have destroyed Earth, becaue there's no Earth in the 31st Century, and the Borg would rather assimilate Humanity than blow Earth up.
I think your next idea lies in the starting of the Return of the Sphere Builders.
NCC1701J 4 years ago
No...the only one i've seen when a oval saucer is USS Voyager
Charmingwizkidclone 4 years ago
well that ship seenes to have ncc 1701 h so weres f
ELCHRISTOO 4 years ago
That is indeed the Enterprise-H. In the Frontiers universe, the Enterprise-F disappeared under mysterious circumstances that the show has yet to explore. The Enterprise-G was also in the series, but I'd spoil it if I explained what happened to it. ;-)
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
I wonder in this future time- if any of the past Enterprises still exists in mothballs, or as space museums..
TitanicTarn 5 years ago
Since we've never heard evidence to the contrary, it's assumed in the Frontiers universe that the 1701-A is either in mothballs or a museum. The "E" might well be too. The "B's" fate is never mentioned in canon but we know that the original, C, and D were all destroyed. There is also an Enterprise-F in the Frontiers universe that vanished under mysterious circumstances.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
what year is this set in?
TitanicTarn 5 years ago
Season One begins in 2419. Seasons 2 and 3 take place in 2420 and 2421 respectively.

What do I need to download and play these episodes...I mean i cna download it but why does it think i need some typ of painting program to run the episode!??!?!..and where can I get it if i need a new one???
Charmingwizkidclone 4 years ago
The episodes aren't playable, they are scripts. You need some kind of PDF viewer to read them. (Adobe has a free Reader at their website.) Currently we are only producing video trailers for our written scripts, but we're moving towards doing more. We will be releasing a "vodcast" in the next few weeks that will a mixture of live action, CG, and traditional 2D animation. It will look at our first two years and ahead to our third.
thegrimmsleeper 4 years ago
ok...thnx :D
Charmingwizkidclone 4 years ago
Have any episodes been made yet? All I could find on the site was scripts.
theinquisitor 5 years ago
The scripts are the show. We unfortunately don't have the time or resources to make all of them into episodes. If we did, we'd only be able to put one episode every 18 months, at best. (Similar to shows like New Voyagers.) We're able to tell much longer and more complex stories, but admittedly the format isn't for everyone. I'm hoping to do an actual animated feature after the series ends, though.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
Ah I see. That's cool, I was just misled by the intro sequence and what I thought was the cast list.
theinquisitor 5 years ago
Yeah, that's actually a list of our crew members: writers, artists, and so forth. We have an alternate version with names of "actors" who play the roles, from a special episode we did in our second season.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
What software did you use for the model creation and animation? Great piece of work.
tvengr4047 5 years ago
Pretty sure Blaze uses Lightwave to make the models and for the animation as well.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
do u have an official web site of urs i can visit? any ways.

its nice to no that some one is keeping the startrek fantasy up. i was heart broken when enterprize ended.
assassin34 5 years ago
you're quite a good animator concidering it is really hard to rip off startrek. NICE JOB!
assassin34 5 years ago
It's not exactly a rip off. It's a fan tribute. And our artist, the guy who did these vids, is quite talented in both Trek and non-Trek artwork and animations.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
Thank you, 1324TN. We can only hope notice is taken but we aren't holding our breath. I doubt I could work under the constraints of Paramount anyway. :) Thanks for taking the time to comment.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
What class ship is that?
billyboyjennings 5 years ago
That's the Enterprise-H. She's an Endurance class, original to our series.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
Here from Ca. Very nice pice of work keep doing that and they my have you for the next movie or TV stories. May your Journy be a succesful one.

very creative!!! well done! greetings from your audience in Brasil!
Darthvander 5 years ago
Thanks for commenting, aang11. You can read our Frontiers stories at http://frontiers.virtualstartrek.com. We don't actually produce our eps in full CG as we are limited on staff. I will be producing a few short films based on a new series I'm working on, though. You can see the teaser for that in my profile, it's called "A New Trek".
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
WHERE CAN I TUNE IN
aang11 5 years ago
Thanks for the comments. MikeTaylorLives, the composition is original, written by Peter Moore, one of our readers. It's a variation of a theme he used for an Ultima fan project, repackaged with the Courage "Trek" fanfare.
thegrimmsleeper 5 years ago
Nice
TheWah21 5 years ago
Not a bad piece of work. I stopped following Trek some years ago. Is that music lifted from Enterprise (never saw the show) or is it an original composition? Either way, it's nice.
