strobe light is pointless. in the dark its going to mess with your vision and your sight of the target. dont worry about flashing a light at them, consentrate on getting rounds down range accuratley. Suggestion dont use pistol, run for shotgun, wait for them to step in the door and start sending rounds down range. less of a chance of missing cause your not screwing around with a light and a pistol, while trying to pick up the shotgun and back up into a seperate room.
Go to the dollar store and get some battery powered door alarms (the kind that go off when the magnet is pulled away from the base unit). Just put it on your doors and windows and set it to the alarm "screech". Early warning is your best defense. If they get to your room, it's TOO LATE. I have kids to think about and luckily all of our bedrooms are upstairs...so I can barricade myself upstairs to protect the fam while the wife dials 911. They can take stuff but had better not come upstairs.
If you have a dog barking, many people would leave for an easier target. Your dog is your strongest defense. Secondly, have you ever seen cops bust a house? It is all over before the guys with guns on the inside have a chance to even get their guns. My point is, guns are great offense, but bared windows and thick doors with locks are your best defense if you even want a chance to touch your gun before getting shot up.
@LostFoxeh I agree, because of guard dogs, i typically have no need for guns, they can smell/hear someone a mile away. The also cost about the same amount as security monitoring and installation with the monthly fee, considering the cops dont respond to alarms anymore, lol....... they are priceless, besides that, theres plenty of good family guard dogs that were given up because of allergies/difficulties in the family...etc my grandmother said it best "Every boy should have a dog"
planning is a great idea that ev1 should do. but circumstances such as a home invasion changes everything. shooting under stress, judgment of who is friend or foe within a split second, deciding whether to fire in a certain direction for safety of people in your house or neighbors, all plays a factor in how to use home defense.
If you are going to use a light, attach it to your gun. It is extremely hard to shoot one handed and hold a light at the same time even when you are calm. I didn't notice a rail on your glock but I know it is easy to attach a light to the shotgun. I hope this helps!

i like the idea of using a strobe light to stun the "bad guys," but it is unlikely that you will be able to remain calm enough to hold the strobe light and shot accurately. i think you have a perfect view of the bedroom door from your bed. I would keep you Glock under your pillow, if you hear someone comming in, it will be quicker to access and less movement, which means less sound that you will be making. as soon as you hear them about to walk in your room, you can easily turn and fire at them.
if you live out in the woods its always a good idea to keep a gun in the car or truck.i was robbed two times and both of them were saved by (tomas the fuck up machian) or what its rilly called was my 45.
if you use the stobe you might some what blind yourself right? if your eyes are adjusted to the dark and you flahs that it might be hard to see. at night you can kind of see already so if he pokes his head out you can go ahead and just shoot him instead of use a flash light at the same time. that just what i think
Put a dresser to the right of your bathroom door, that way you can set that flashlight upon it aimed at the bedroom door, and have usage of both of your hands for that remy.
I think everybody should have guns for self defense and/ or home defense, AND, Proper Training to use them, because there is nothing more embarrassing that shooting yourself in the foot; ah... one last thing, always remember that once an intruder is in the house, They Will Use Their Weapons either to Get What they Want or to get away from you, so you better know what you are doing!!
heres the truth guns solve every problem because people are to fukin stupid to listen with words but if you pull a piece they definitely will listen to you then its the american way and it will never change like a cop once told people dont respect the badge but they respect the gun its fuked up but thts how it is people need to grow sum balls and accept tht fact not sugar coat it
I'm a private military contractor and a CQB instructor and a martial arts instructor. This plan is riddled with issues. If you are looking for some instruction, message me and we can talk. It's great that you are thinking about what to do and trying to work your way threw it step by step but you do need some help with it.
Ok so why the fuck would you show your self defense plan to the open public...you just told them exactly where you will be and what you are going to do.
Well that's a way to do it, but if you bought a couple of secured doores then nobody would be able to get in.. Im not saying you should not have a gun, Im only pointing out that a life should not be taken as the first thing.. Not even for a tv or a car...
@etphonehome2915 that would protect your family yes, i can see the front and or back doors, but all doors secured could be a problem, say you had to exit the house fast, or you get hurt and someone Fire,EMS, or police have got to get in to help you.
best tip...? DON'T TELL EVERYONE YOUR GAME PLAN!!!!!!
2nd: have the shotgun leaning against your TV stand so you can maintain visual contact with them at all times instead of looking back to get your shotgun. If your strobe works properly, they'll never see the shotgun there...
I've had my home broken in twice. Once where my dog heard and barked and chased them all around the neighborhood; and once where the robber heard my shotgun being cocked and met the business end of it as he was trying to run towards me. A plan never hurts, but nothing helps more than knowing you can pull that trigger if need be. It's all psychological.
A good locker helps a lot to avoid intruders as well... and the cost is much lower than these lots of guns... and by the way, when you have kids around, you will have to chance your strategy!!!
Cont. 10-15 seconds. I would also have a bag of some sort that is quick to get to that has a cell phone, extra light, and atleast 2 extra mag. and another load of shot shells. Also, do not stay in one place once the first attacker is down you need to do what we call a seach and asses for secondary treats. Then, advance and clear the rest of the house. In this situation you do not relax until you have safely made it out of you house and are calling for help.
Good plan the only advice i can give is measure your standoff distance I.E your defesive position to the position of the attacker. In this case it would be you corner in you bed room to the door way and actually patterns your shotgun at that range. Another good thing to do is actually practice it with drills. Muscel memory and gross motor skills are what saves someones life in quick encounter such as a home invasion. The stobe light is a good thing bc it extremely disorients an attacker for
@swisha651 Yup, a big fag that will put 6 rounds in anyone who tries to break into his home. I bet you're a liberal. Good luck waiting the 14 minutes for the police to arrive.
@Campioni1092 No a big scary fag making a fag ass video about some one breaking in his house...Get off his dick !!! real dnt talk we walk and who's gonna break in this dudes house he aint gang bangin his white ass is fine.
@swisha651 To answer your question Niggers like you break into our "white ass" houses. And like this guy, if one gets in, its leavin in a body bag.....
@swisha651 "White ass"? I'm judging from that comment that you're a nigger, which means there's a high chance you're the type that will catch several slugs from my own pistol as you're attempting to invade my own home. Shitskin.
@biggin2155 CONT 2...intruder! Remember to purchase good quality locks on your doors...remember to purchase good lighting around your house and property...and always have your dog around..them little guys always help! Keep extra magazines full of ammo around, but be careful because the springs in the clips do wear out after being loaded for too long...make sure they are working properly! Hope that helps....its always a good thing to be prepared! Good luck, God bless!
@biggin2155 CONT... approch you from behind. Thirdly get alarms that are "off the grid" the kind of alarms that use a battery (instead of a plug in) and place them on all windows and doors, it should help warn you and scare an intruder. The stobe light is a good idea, cause it blinds an intruder, those who say it gives away your position are wrong, cause the muzzle flash of your shot gun or hand gun are going to let them know where you are anyway, the stobe light should help dissorientate an..
@biggin2155 The best way to avoid getting into a shoot out inside your home is to know that an intruder is coming before he gets into your house! I just bought a Dakota WMA-3000 drive/yard alarm system..Put one in my back and front yard..it lets you know if anybody has "crossed" into your yard! That gives you several seconds to prepare for a break in! Next, you have the advantage over the burglar because you know the layout of your home..find a spot that has a wall to your backside so nobody can
Rather then waiting for the intruder(s) to enter .. you should voice your presence and your willingness to defend your home with deadly force, and you should immediatly dial 911 on speaker as not to be fumbling and so they can hear, as well as fall back to you covered room with with the shotgun at your advancing state ( which means 45° down, shouldered and orientated towards the potential threat) your shotguns will be much more effective in stopping power in that bottle necked set up...
Yeah...suggestion: As far as the Glock or Shotgun goes, put a tactical light on it or a strobe if you want because you ain't going to have time nor the patience to set everything up like that and you also want to be able to fire with both hands for recoil control. Of course keep one in the chamber. Also "Grab the shotgun if they return fire"? If you are being fired upon at close range you are going to want to shoot as fast as you can with what you got. Milloseconds count. Trust me.
wow this guy wants to kill people acually planning the death of an intruder; BUDDY JUST PUT THE DAMN GUN AT YOUR SIDE NO NEED FOR THIS MESS- WITH 8 WEAPONS AROUND YOUR HOUSE- CHILL OUT!
maybe the shotgun should be in ur cover room? my guess is thats a bathroom and you could get caught on the shitter. also you make it sound like if they return fire u'll grab the shotgun and get cover.... if they return fire and u don't end it with the handgun then do you really have time to grab the gun and get cover? you may have time to get cover but not grab a gun.... anyway i don't really know what i am talking about. but i would probably get behind something solid if waiting @ the door.
I agree on light u shoud hope for them to break light discipline first . U should also equip ur 870 with a pistog grip this will allow u to move into ur cover room and aquire the target quicker ... Colapable/foldind stock. I have the870 express in this setup and its ideal . U may wana get urself a kriss super V its my primary cant beat the accuracy
i'm not a fan of most lights. it tells the target shoot for the point of origin. if you must have a light pressure actuated only in 100% darkness (tap & move to another engagement spot). once you fire your gun the muzzle flash serves the same purpose. being in the dark with a quick flash of light gives your eye a picture that fades in a second or 2(2nd it blinds the target as well). move with bent knees to keep quiet. to use this style you must keep a clean home/trip hazard will get you killed.
a few LED night lights around the house will give you just enough light to see your target & your hands are free to work your firearms. 1 less steep could get you in the fight faster. pick your engagement spots 1) you have cover 2) you can escape to a secondary engagement spot 3) make multiple targets void with a fatal funnel 4) a bed side land line (# gives PD your address) to dial 911 even if you never say a word they have to send a unit... your backup will be coming soon
Under the empty pillow next to me I keep my Beretta m9, handcuffs, and a flashlight. Between my nightstand I have a maglight. On my nightstand i have a SOG Seal Pup blade.
So glad i dont live in a country where everryones arming themselves to the teeth because theyre scared of eachother. Nothing wrong with firearms , dont get me wrong im no anti gun nutter but at the same time , must suck to live in an area where you have to talk about stuff like in this video thinking theres a good chance it'll happen.
I'm in the U.S and I assure I don't live like this lol.
Idk why he's so paranoid about his home defense, but then again I don't know anything about him. He could work in a high profile job and interact with serious types of people on a daily basis. Fact is we just don't know what he deals with so maybe he's got a reason for all of this. Personally, I don't think I'll ever even have a home invasion serious enough to even fire a shot off.
I live in australia and owned a remington 870, lovely weapon. Unfortunately all pump action shot guns were outlawed in 1997 following the port arthur massacre. I now sleep with a cold steel ghurka kukri within reach.
.45 and 12 gauge are great choices. I would suggest, that if you can get to the 870 in time to use that as your primary weapon. And depending on the number of intruders if you run dry, switch then to the Glock. You have a good plan, but also you need to keep in mind geometry of fire. It appears that you might've already worked this out, but if not you want to make sure and funnel intruders to where you can take a safe shot and not worry about hurting someone else if you miss.
You run +p's through your glock? How does the gun handle that? I don't know the specifics on +p's, but I never use them in my semi-autos. Revolvers are the only thing I will shoot +p's out of.
Most people would call you paranoid. In fact, I see a comment down below that says exactly that. I would call you prepared. Not fully, but at least you have an active awareness and an intent to defend yourself. Well done sir.
@Just4Th3Lulz aim for the chest or the legs, you tihnk all the ppl has the best aim? Is not a game! In such situations, you will panic, your aim will not be the same, you wont be steady! Aim for the chest!
you should only strobe when you have a visual of the subject, once the threat has been disbatched or has retreated you should discontinue the strobe and refocus...make sure you have enough rounds in your weapon for a secondary attack on you or to advance your position to verify the disbatched subject and to advance your position throughout your home to engage additional threats/personnel, make sure to clear each room and close doors behind you, the strobe will be the last thing on your mind
do not continue your strobe, you will only give away your position. If you have any doubt that your threat has not been eliminated put 2 more in them and continue your search to reclaim your home. Make sure you have a search pattern established and place furniture strategically so you can advance your position unseen while still being effective in your own search. Place additional ammo for weapons in locations where you will be taking cover during your advance. DO NOT stay in 1 place and hide!
@ProperProperties please dont give your airsoft babble. if the guys in your living room are armed, they are already hiding behind your furniture and possibly armed...you have the disadvantage if you go looking for them. barricade yourself in your room and call the cops. the only time you should leave your room is if you have family/roommates you need to think about. 95% of gun owners have zero LEO/military training. dont pretend like you do.
@1212myusername thankfully I am military trained and will go defend my family... and my cat... mother fuckers hurt my cat the cops will never find the body<.<
@ProperProperties That is relative to the situation I used to teach martial arts and self defense. Yes stay in a place that offers movement but as you can see he can't and in a shoot or miss situation you have one or two shots. So he is right and he did point out that he should move his strobe. Put a switch in the closet for a regular light and another strobe light somerhwere in the room.
also, get your ccw permit, i keep a weapon on me at all times. i live in the city now and never know where i'll b in the house when some pond scum decides he needs something.
@jwgbmp40 sometimes thats a tactical advantage. if he knows where everything on the floor is in his room, and its dark, the bad guy wont... leading to the bad guy looking stupid while trying to recover from tripping on a backpack.
LOL lets sayy yur playing call of duty and then people come in and yu pull out the glock, and then they jus wanted to play too but they were on the flooor with multiple bullets in them, whats the solution??? LOL JW
@Clyrics858 what? you wrote that comment poorly, but your saying if he is playing xbox, and somebody he doesnt know for some reason comes into his house, unarmed, just to play call of duty? first, thats not going to happen, second why would you shoot? the person is unarmed, in your house il give you that, but still unarmed. you only shoot if you think that your life or the life of another is in danger.
@STKhero yeah my vocabulary isnt the best but i think but i should go bacc to pre school and learn to spell well yes i think i was a little flaked when i wrote this LOL!!!!!!!
@Clyrics858 that was the point you have to understand everything before you get tricced and they have the power to confuse yu and then shoot you thats a survial thing
I've got a gun in every room in the house. I've had a home invasion experience but my friends smith & wesson solved the problem shot two dead in the bedroom last one fled quick still on the loose.
I would put something heavy in front of that taped door while I shower at night. You get out of the shower, walk towards your dresser, BG steps out of that room puts gun to head. Sorry if this gives night mares :/
I would have electric tape over the latch on the left door so when i nudge it shut it will give a realistic affect like i twisted the handle to not make noise. I would also move the table outside your door to the left wall so you have to walk around in to enter your room, this will give you the drop on the next bad guy who tries to enter the room, as you will have a shot gun already pointing at him. Hope this helps!
BG enters room, 2 seconds later i nudge the left door shut, BG eyes get wide as he now knows hes not alone, remote activate strobe light on bathroom counter, he looks right, I put a shotgun round through his center mass from the floor laying next to the bed with my right knee up so i can easily sit up and post the shotgun on the bed looking into the family room for my next target, left hand the pistol to the wounded BG if he is still moving.
Okay to the people who like handguns with safeties. Through research and testing human beings lose fine motor skills in an emergency or fight or flight events. There are many cases where people keep pulling the trigger in panic and never take off the safety.
The situation should dictate your course of action but do consider that it could be a family member walking through that door. I'd imagine it would be better to let your invader/s know that you're home and that you're armed. This would probably scare away any would be thieves and save you a lot of trouble and maybe a lot of grief. A determined assassin intent on taking your life is an unlikely scenario, use your judgment wisely.
I put my gun and flashlight under my pillow, so I can grab them with my eyes closed. Mount another flashlight on your shotgun, the light is only useful for identifing target, I would rather shoot first than using the strobe, as they can still shoot blindly. Don't expect to be able to perform so many actions under stress, you wil forget things.
ALWAYS assume that it's multiple terrorists, wanting to kill you. Soon as you hear a sound, start spraying rounds in the general direction. I plan on mounting a machinegun near my bed, and minelaying my lawn. If anyone walks by, I'll be like "go ahead, make my day" and kill them all!!
I'd be more inclined to transition to the shotgun as soon as possible as you may not get a chance to if you wait until you are under fire. The shotgun has a longer sight plane and is more stable. At that range there will be almost no shot spread and it would be a one shot stop. Then if you need to, a transition to the pistol would be faster than visa versa. You could always mount your light on your shotgun simplifying the strobe and shoot process.
I'm not sure what your apt looks like but get add an escape plan. Outgunning 3 armed men who have cornered you into your room especially on 1 mag of pistol and maybe 5 sg shells, is going to be impossible. esp if you assume theyre serious and have heavy firepower. Your plan should have a) immediate action (which it does) b) secondary action (to escape foremost, or to more firepower).
Good that you have a plan. Tips: Always assume multiple attackers. And they are armed. I think u said it already but both guns better be locked and loaded safety off esp in that scenario. This plan would only have a shot at working IF you awake in time to grab the gun, grab the flash, get out of bed, point it at the door way, READY to fire/ambush. That makes at least 5 seconds, u should practice. That means if they have already opened the door, it's too late.
very nice setup i myself though wield my AR-15 fully about 5 shots loaded of hollow points and the rest armor peircing just incase they get in a car or are wearing body armor :)
Nice setup. I love the glock30 I own the 19 my dad owns the 30 Wich is he on duty carry and his 33 for off duty.my setup is the 19 with 147 g FMJ hollow point. And a bullet proof vest and a glock 78 field knife
Have you thought about placing the shotgun into your "fall back" room when you head to bed? That way as you fire the pistol you can be falling back into more cover (bathroom) and then dispatch the threat with the 12 ga.
hey dont leave ur shot gun leaning agenst the wall it will worp the barrile over time i set mine stright up where the safety is and the barrile aint tuching the wall
@magnus3318 if somebody (a home invader, robber, etc.) is in your house. It doesn't matter whether or not he is armed. HE SHOULDN'T BE IN YOUR HOUSE. theres no time to think about what they have, just shoot at him and you will most likely scare him of with a couple wounds. 99 % of the time if you whip out a shotgun and start throwing slugs down sight he is going to bust the fuck out of your house. Robbers also have fears and they dont want to loose there lives. hope this helped
@jumbi100 I do see your point of view, but I think the better option is maybe to warn him before you shoot. But then you might get shot :( But many of the gun nuts out there don't think about what happens if you shoot and kill a guy. Not just the legal stuff, but how they would feel if they blindly shot someone in the dark, and it turns out they didn't have a weapon etc. I'm feeling you should try to solve things without guns or violence, but also that sometimes you need a gun.
@magnus3318 true, but this depends on where you live. in most states you have the right to shoot an intruder who is a threat to you or residents. i don't know about if it matters if he is armed. Most the times, someone who kicks down your door means business and isn't a peaceful person. My most logic solution would be call the cops, fire warning shots at the door he is trying to break into, and if he is still active, you should fire fatal shots.
@jumbi100 Better safe than sorry, right? What is the worst, shooting someone and later regret, or not shooting someone and risk getting shot? I'm going a bit back and forth on this one, but if the question is shoot or get shot, the smart thing is to shoot. I'm just getting a little frustrated by all the people almost looking for an exuse to shoot someone, walking round armed and whispering "make my day"
@magnus3318 hahaha i totally agree. The only time i believe a citizen should kill someone is to save his life. For example, idk if you heard about the guy who shot 2 burglars robbing his neighbors house. the neighbors weren't home so nobody was in real danger but this guy shot these robbers while they where running to their car through his yard. he shot and killed both. i believe this man should be charged with something. there was no good reason to shoot and kill the two.
I'd say you picked excellent caliber weapons to defend yourself with. Remember the Alamo. Let the bad guy come to you. I wouldn't even walk around the bedroom if I were you. Just rolled out of bed and use the bed as concealment. That door opens, then quickly identify the target and likely shoot to stop the theat. If it happens quick use the 45 but if you have time, use the 12. Don't use the flashlight. When the door opens the bad guy will be illuminated by any lights he turned on or is using.
strobe light is pointless. in the dark its going to mess with your vision and your sight of the target. dont worry about flashing a light at them, consentrate on getting rounds down range accuratley. Suggestion dont use pistol, run for shotgun, wait for them to step in the door and start sending rounds down range. less of a chance of missing cause your not screwing around with a light and a pistol, while trying to pick up the shotgun and back up into a seperate room.

Well that's a way to do it, but if you bought a couple of secured doores then nobody would be able to get in.. Im not saying you should not have a gun, Im only pointing out that a life should not be taken as the first thing.. Not even for a tv or a car...
etphonehome2915 2 months ago
@etphonehome2915 that would protect your family yes, i can see the front and or back doors, but all doors secured could be a problem, say you had to exit the house fast, or you get hurt and someone Fire,EMS, or police have got to get in to help you.
timberland1108 2 months ago
Yes there are pros and cons to that...
etphonehome2915 2 months ago
best tip...?

In this situation you do not relax until you have safely made it out of you house and are calling for help.
spc4carter 4 months ago
Good plan the only advice i can give is measure your standoff distance I.E your defesive position to the position of the attacker. In this case it would be you corner in you bed room to the door way and actually patterns your shotgun at that range. Another good thing to do is actually practice it with drills. Muscel memory and gross motor skills are what saves someones life in quick encounter such as a home invasion. The stobe light is a good thing bc it extremely disorients an attacker for

LetsgetphysicalAg 4 months ago
@biggin2155 CONT... approch you from behind. Thirdly get alarms that are "off the grid" the kind of alarms that use a battery (instead of a plug in) and place them on all windows and doors, it should help warn you and scare an intruder. The stobe light is a good idea, cause it blinds an intruder, those who say it gives away your position are wrong, cause the muzzle flash of your shot gun or hand gun are going to let them know where you are anyway, the stobe light should help dissorientate an..
LetsgetphysicalAg 4 months ago
@biggin2155 The best way to avoid getting into a shoot out inside your home is to know that an intruder is coming before he gets into your house! I just bought a Dakota WMA-3000 drive/yard alarm system..Put one in my back and front yard..it lets you know if anybody has "crossed" into your yard! That gives you several seconds to prepare for a break in! Next, you have the advantage over the burglar because you know the layout of your home..find a spot that has a wall to your backside so nobody can

And dont over think your plan... My time in service has always taught to keep it simple stupid in high stress situations
kodboy361 4 months ago
Rather then waiting for the intruder(s) to enter .. you should voice your presence and your willingness to defend your home with deadly force, and you should immediatly dial 911 on speaker as not to be fumbling and so they can hear, as well as fall back to you covered room with with the shotgun at your advancing state ( which means 45° down, shouldered and orientated towards the potential threat) your shotguns will be much more effective in stopping power in that bottle necked set up...
kodboy361 4 months ago
Yeah...suggestion: As far as the Glock or Shotgun goes, put a tactical light on it or a strobe if you want because you ain't going to have time nor the patience to set everything up like that and you also want to be able to fire with both hands for recoil control. Of course keep one in the chamber. Also "Grab the shotgun if they return fire"? If you are being fired upon at close range you are going to want to shoot as fast as you can with what you got. Milloseconds count. Trust me.
blainehallmark 5 months ago
have a phone in your bedroom so you can call 911. it will avoid any legal trouble if you have to shoot someone.

maybe the shotgun should be in ur cover room? my guess is thats a bathroom and you could get caught on the shitter. also you make it sound like if they return fire u'll grab the shotgun and get cover.... if they return fire and u don't end it with the handgun then do you really have time to grab the gun and get cover? you may have time to get cover but not grab a gun.... anyway i don't really know what i am talking about. but i would probably get behind something solid if waiting @ the door.

Colapable/foldind stock. I have the870 express in this setup and its ideal . U may wana get urself a kriss super V its my primary cant beat the accuracy
WoNASTY 6 months ago
i'm not a fan of most lights. it tells the target shoot for the point of origin. if you must have a light pressure actuated only in 100% darkness (tap & move to another engagement spot). once you fire your gun the muzzle flash serves the same purpose. being in the dark with a quick flash of light gives your eye a picture that fades in a second or 2(2nd it blinds the target as well). move with bent knees to keep quiet. to use this style you must keep a clean home/trip hazard will get you killed.
parkerbryanl 6 months ago
a few LED night lights around the house will give you just enough light to see your target & your hands are free to work your firearms. 1 less steep could get you in the fight faster. pick your engagement spots 1) you have cover 2) you can escape to a secondary engagement spot 3) make multiple targets void with a fatal funnel 4) a bed side land line (# gives PD your address) to dial 911 even if you never say a word they have to send a unit... your backup will be coming soon

burglars are mostly unarmed + mostly don't use voilence (when they see you they will most likely run...)
And about the 11 rounds thing... when you shoot 1... the rest will run
but when all this fail ... than you make a point
BLOWBACKKID 7 months ago
.45 and 12 gauge are great choices. I would suggest, that if you can get to the 870 in time to use that as your primary weapon. And depending on the number of intruders if you run dry, switch then to the Glock. You have a good plan, but also you need to keep in mind geometry of fire. It appears that you might've already worked this out, but if not you want to make sure and funnel intruders to where you can take a safe shot and not worry about hurting someone else if you miss.

you should only strobe when you have a visual of the subject, once the threat has been disbatched or has retreated you should discontinue the strobe and refocus...make sure you have enough rounds in your weapon for a secondary attack on you or to advance your position to verify the disbatched subject and to advance your position throughout your home to engage additional threats/personnel, make sure to clear each room and close doors behind you, the strobe will be the last thing on your mind
ProperProperties 7 months ago
do not continue your strobe, you will only give away your position.
ProperProperties 7 months ago 15
@ProperProperties please dont give your airsoft babble. if the guys in your living room are armed, they are already hiding behind your furniture and possibly armed...you have the disadvantage if you go looking for them. barricade yourself in your room and call the cops. the only time you should leave your room is if you have family/roommates you need to think about. 95% of gun owners have zero LEO/military training. dont pretend like you do.

I would put something heavy in front of that taped door while I shower at night. You get out of the shower, walk towards your dresser, BG steps out of that room puts gun to head. Sorry if this gives night mares :/
nickkkyc 9 months ago
I would have electric tape over the latch on the left door so when i nudge it shut it will give a realistic affect like i twisted the handle to not make noise. I would also move the table outside your door to the left wall so you have to walk around in to enter your room, this will give you the drop on the next bad guy who tries to enter the room, as you will have a shot gun already pointing at him. Hope this helps!
nickkkyc 9 months ago
BG enters room, 2 seconds later i nudge the left door shut, BG eyes get wide as he now knows hes not alone, remote activate strobe light on bathroom counter, he looks right, I put a shotgun round through his center mass from the floor laying next to the bed with my right knee up so i can easily sit up and post the shotgun on the bed looking into the family room for my next target, left hand the pistol to the wounded BG if he is still moving.

TroubleMan21C 9 months ago
The situation should dictate your course of action but do consider that it could be a family member walking through that door. I'd imagine it would be better to let your invader/s know that you're home and that you're armed. This would probably scare away any would be thieves and save you a lot of trouble and maybe a lot of grief. A determined assassin intent on taking your life is an unlikely scenario, use your judgment wisely.
rji 9 months ago
I put my gun and flashlight under my pillow, so I can grab them with my eyes closed. Mount another flashlight on your shotgun, the light is only useful for identifing target, I would rather shoot first than using the strobe, as they can still shoot blindly. Don't expect to be able to perform so many actions under stress, you wil forget things.

sproetenkoning2 9 months ago
I'd be more inclined to transition to the shotgun as soon as possible as you may not get a chance to if you wait until you are under fire. The shotgun has a longer sight plane and is more stable. At that range there will be almost no shot spread and it would be a one shot stop. Then if you need to, a transition to the pistol would be faster than visa versa. You could always mount your light on your shotgun simplifying the strobe and shoot process.
shazdee 10 months ago
I'm not sure what your apt looks like but get add an escape plan. Outgunning 3 armed men who have cornered you into your room especially on 1 mag of pistol and maybe 5 sg shells, is going to be impossible. esp if you assume theyre serious and have heavy firepower. Your plan should have a) immediate action (which it does) b) secondary action (to escape foremost, or to more firepower).
PancakePlease 10 months ago
Good that you have a plan. Tips: Always assume multiple attackers. And they are armed. I think u said it already but both guns better be locked and loaded safety off esp in that scenario. This plan would only have a shot at working IF you awake in time to grab the gun, grab the flash, get out of bed, point it at the door way, READY to fire/ambush. That makes at least 5 seconds, u should practice. That means if they have already opened the door, it's too late.

So, if somone walk into your bedroom at night, you just shoot? wouldn't it be better to take a sec to see if they are armed or whatnot?
magnus3318 10 months ago
@magnus3318 if somebody (a home invader, robber, etc.) is in your house. It doesn't matter whether or not he is armed. HE SHOULDN'T BE IN YOUR HOUSE. theres no time to think about what they have, just shoot at him and you will most likely scare him of with a couple wounds. 99 % of the time if you whip out a shotgun and start throwing slugs down sight he is going to bust the fuck out of your house. Robbers also have fears and they dont want to loose there lives. hope this helped
jumbi100 10 months ago
@jumbi100 I do see your point of view, but I think the better option is maybe to warn him before you shoot. But then you might get shot :( But many of the gun nuts out there don't think about what happens if you shoot and kill a guy. Not just the legal stuff, but how they would feel if they blindly shot someone in the dark, and it turns out they didn't have a weapon etc. I'm feeling you should try to solve things without guns or violence, but also that sometimes you need a gun.
magnus3318 10 months ago
@magnus3318 true, but this depends on where you live. in most states you have the right to shoot an intruder who is a threat to you or residents. i don't know about if it matters if he is armed. Most the times, someone who kicks down your door means business and isn't a peaceful person. My most logic solution would be call the cops, fire warning shots at the door he is trying to break into, and if he is still active, you should fire fatal shots.
jumbi100 10 months ago
@jumbi100 Better safe than sorry, right? What is the worst, shooting someone and later regret, or not shooting someone and risk getting shot? I'm going a bit back and forth on this one, but if the question is shoot or get shot, the smart thing is to shoot. I'm just getting a little frustrated by all the people almost looking for an exuse to shoot someone, walking round armed and whispering "make my day"
magnus3318 10 months ago
@magnus3318 hahaha i totally agree. The only time i believe a citizen should kill someone is to save his life. For example, idk if you heard about the guy who shot 2 burglars robbing his neighbors house. the neighbors weren't home so nobody was in real danger but this guy shot these robbers while they where running to their car through his yard. he shot and killed both. i believe this man should be charged with something. there was no good reason to shoot and kill the two.
jumbi100 10 months ago
@jumbi100 No, I didn't hear about that one, but a lot of people should never have gotten guns. Glad you see my point of view :)
magnus3318 10 months ago
I'd say you picked excellent caliber weapons to defend yourself with. Remember the Alamo. Let the bad guy come to you. I wouldn't even walk around the bedroom if I were you. Just rolled out of bed and use the bed as concealment. That door opens, then quickly identify the target and likely shoot to stop the theat. If it happens quick use the 45 but if you have time, use the 12. Don't use the flashlight. When the door opens the bad guy will be illuminated by any lights he turned on or is using.
