hey just wondering, what sequencer do use if any? we use a akai mpc 500 but we want to do it on laptop but don't know how to change the midi channels so we can operate more than one synth. any advice?
we are using an interface (motu 828mk ii). it has 22 outputs, so just assign outputs 1&2 to FOH and 3&4 to click track and send that to our IEM's, with a bit of mix 1&2 sent to that bus.
what sort of settings would you use to create that sound for the vocoder ... i have a microkorg but the vocoder patches are crap so ive been trying to make my own but i cant ... so any help would be nice :)
thankyou, yes.. matt the singer is using a laptop running NI kore player and vokator live, playing the notes with a novation midi controller :) he has two mics for that reason, the one near his laptop is the vocoder one, and the one in the middle of the stage is a normal line. we're upgrading to kore 2 very soon :D:D
its hard to see your stage setup, but thats pretty impressive none the less to be doing real live vocoding instead of just an auto tune pitch corrector with a chorus effect giving off a vocoder sound if im making sense right now...
haha
if you guys are NI fans, are your guitars running through Guitar Rig live as well?
well, we run with 2 laptops.. mine is used for sequencing of synths and samples, the singer's is used for soft synths and vocoding :)
we love the NI synths, but i'd like to keep my laptop which does some midi and audio sequencing on as low processor load as possible, so i midi sequence a pod xt. i did actually use an amp sim perviously (cubase 4 amp sim) but i didnt like the thought of if the computer crashed!
Judging from this & our Bradford vids, it'd be easy to get the impression that I wear the same thing at every gig... or maybe just all the time... Perhaps I never change... Or... Do I?
Drums are a bit loud, but I think that's just the sound quality. Very nice cover otherwise though.

im using a program i wrote in max msp right now to handle the midi sequencing and click track.
theman362 2 years ago
how do you split the click track and the backingtrack/sequencing through the output?
