  • 1.04 the red note is pressed before he press his finger. huauahu what a bullshit...

  • The obvious problem is that in most games gross motor movements are depicted on screen. Which means that in order to get this kind of result playing God of war for example I'm gonna be completely beating the shit out of my living room furniture.

Not only that but you'd need to be pretty fit to play and your living room would smell like your gym socks after not very long.

  • At 0:55 he misses his finger, LOL.

  • troolin around

  • Fake and gay!! And the guy sounds bored :S

  • idiot and gay, you sound like an idiot

  • fake or not

im never gonna replace my guitar hero controller with air!!!

but that car idea aint bad :p

  • Don't let movies scare you into doomsday with this simple step forward toward a better (aka easier) lifestyle. Only harmful repercussions are maybe you get the hand gestures wrong and go back a song, ooo so scary.

  • Or say, you're walking away from your car and accidentally open it without realizing it, and everything you have inside of it is stolen.

  • @bodyguard218 yes that could happen to. But i wouldn't put experimental technology on something worth over 1000$ of mine. Even if it was bug proof, every system still has glitches. Yet once again, a car unlocking isn't the same as people fear of it starting and running you over. xD

  • the xbox isnt not even on! LOL

  • they were just showing you an example. Why would they turn it on for a 3 second long clip?

  • Comment removed

  • you're serious?

  • wat are you retarded or something.. that is a calibration program.. it shows you what to do then you do it.. so it can map the muscle movement. That is why it is on screen first.. as .. IT IS ON THE SCREEN FIRST.... moron.

  • That is THE POINT. They light up, he touches the fingers. That way the computer knows what signals come from what movements. Hes syncing his movements with the system, not making the lights light up.

  • thats not fake, the technologie is not even new, its just new in the sector of videogames. and yes, the light blinks up before he touches the fingertips OFCOURSE. the sensors recognize the activation of the specific muscle and not the contact of two fingertips. or do u see any sensors ON his fingertips?.. nope

  • @Ruben7771

ITS CALIBRATIN MAN< ITS PRETTY TIGHT

    I GIVE THIS A THUMBS UP :)

  • I'm not sure this is genuine just yet.

Watch 1:05 the fingers and the screen-not matching at all. I'm pretty sure they will do it, but I don't know whether this is faked just yet.

  • @pritzi101 uhhh. i did check. at they really do :P

  • Nnotice that he's playing lefty while the screen is on righty; therefore it does, in fact, match up

  • The guy did say that they are doing that to collect data. He pressing the finger they want him to press to collect the data

  • I think microsoft just hit a sweet spot, that's a goldmine

  • I must admit, this will change the user experience hugely!

Can't wait to try it out.

  • this + natal = holy shit

  • that's kinda cool

  • This makes me feel like the end of the world is coming or something.

  • R kelly always gets me into the mood LoL

  • Aha, speakers of Activision mentioned Air Guitar Hero at a conference. I wonder what the EMG Muscle Controller could be used for(*hint hint*)? Microsoft must have patented this for a reason...?

  • So retarded it hurts !!!

You must apply several electrodes on your hand just to.....play guitar hero or control a freaky mp3 player program.

SHIT who thought of that ???

Really innovating dudes , you must be on lsd or i can't explain this. No logical people could create such a TRASH

  • well it's not perfected yet.. is it?

    still pretty nice.. ;]

  • Nice??? Perfected??

those things are irellevant , this thing is absolute trash, the only use would be for people that can't move their arm and they can move their fingers, if there are these people.

  • If you fail to see potential in this technology than you're just another consumer with zero forethought. It's not trash just because you can't think of more uses for it.

  • @mysticalclown This is just a prototype / proof of concept, it says at the end they're working on a wireless armband. They're just demonstrating a few possible uses to show how the technology works.

  • next stop is matrix just like cem sanci's says :) büyüksün author. alev alev dilberlere göz kırpıyoruz

  • Wait, we need all of these wires running along our arms to use it correctly? Fuck that.

  • at the end he claims they made a wireless one.

  • Alright thanks, youtube is being really slow for me so I didn't watch all of it.

  • sure no problem. I think this might be a huge step in our technologies. Maybe a nintendo wii thing? or an Xbox 'tekken booby grab game' :D

  • LOL at 0:57

  • @millsmillsmills

I didn't know it would try to link to it; you have to start at about 0:50

  • Ever get the feeling when technology is just bullshitting you to the point where it's FUCKING WITCHCRAFT OF THE HIGHEST SORCERY?!

  • Another similar product already exists on the market. To avoid seeming like a spammer, Anyone who's interested can PM me.

    Peace

  • Awesome

  • "muscle-computer interfaces" holy shitballs

  • There are already "brain-computer interfaces" which are more impressive.

  • 2012 next generation is what he means, more secrets will be revealed soon.

  • Microsoft and other proprietry patents (that they can affect by virtue of their corporate wealth rather than actual innovation) will prove socially disadvantageous, possibly dangerous even, as these patients will stifle essential medical development and research by making it prohibitively expensive except where it increases corporate profits which is usually in conflict with social welfare and progress.

  • SubhanAllah.

  • i like the whole thing about it being used on only for video games but everyday use like opening car doors when your hands are busy thats prettys cool.

  • awesome!

  • THIS IS SIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:55 fail

  • 2010 is BADASS!

  • Incredible!

  • It's amazing... it's simply amazing! o.O

  • Step 1: Create input devices which utilise inherent finger dexterity.

Step 2: Remove need for input devices using muscle movement.

Step 3: Remove need for muscle movement with neural interface.

Step 4: Use feeble humans locked within VR environment as power source.

  • cool i want to play CoD MW2 Whit this

  • as a recently injured c4 quadriplegic, which means I can not move and my muscles below my shoulder line except for my biceps, I have not been able to play any games except with my chin. Which is left me to only being allowed play RTS computer games like age of empires or starcraft. This might seem like it has no application to the gaming world but that is only because you probably don't know what it is like to be paralyzed from your shoulders down.

  • Let's take it a step further then: only use brainwaves to control a game. I am currently working on a brain computer interface to play guitar hero, called brains on fire.

  • anyone watch the GH part close enough? when you hold a fret down it's meant to light up at the bottom. It only did this for the final red fret, it did not do at all for any other part of that video... I'm not saying this technology doesn't exist or is impossible, but I am saying that the GH was faked

  • it does light up, look at the string of yellows and you can see it is lit up for all the notes. on most of the he is switching too quickly to see the notes light up.

also if they were going to fake it they would probably have somebody off screen playing the guitar, so the notes would still light up.

  • Oh my god,

porn is going to be so much better.

  • hahahahahaha so fucking true dude!!!

  • @SiDN64 LMAO

  • So damn true SiDN

  • Comment removed

  • What the fuck.

  • thats amazing

  • This is REAL practical. Imagine hitting orange lol.

  • I see this technology not reaching the average wide-based consumer. Maybe a slimmed down version that only has like one input at first. But i can see this being difficult to master at first and inputs will be accidentally activated without being noticed.

  • This has so many limitations and complications that I can't see being overcome. The sensitivity needed to pick up muscle activity will increase greatly with people who are overweight, it would be too impractical to have anything important being controlled by your slightest finger movement when you are trying to perform other task. e.g. trying to grip something. Also, the sensor would have to be positioned very accurately which would be difficult to maintain while, for example, jogging.

  • Wow where is gaming gonna be in 10 years

  • I wouldn't use the current model. But It does look great

  • what about multiple frets? hammer downs? vocals? shyt...drums?

  • Finger fail at 0:49

  • @jeromelebel I dont see any fail

  • @Darklink224 mhh more 0:56 ... he miss a finger

  • Guitar Hero: Air Guitar Edition

  • good ideas here.

  • wtf if this is the future of guitar hero, then I will quit

  • Whoever said wii NATAL and ps3 wand thingy is stupid is dumb...the wii is kinda a fail...the ps3 motion thing is a gimmick that you don't use...natal does not fit in with these because it actually looks really awesome for basic games that it will be compatible with

  • this will kill gaming, it has the potential to do many things , but in the hands of certain individuals it can cause chaos.

  • this is a brilliant invention but it is super gay for gaming. the wii, natal, and the ps3 wand thingy is stupid

  • Interesting! There will need to be an on/off switch though. perhaps tapping all fingers to toggle it.

  • NATAL+this =GOD

  • Microsoft Technology, building the future of lazy people. :)

  • Yeah! You can use that to masturbate! God does exist.

  • very instresting. however if ur rather largish... those sensors wouldn't pick up movement. just a thought

  • Oh and he's playing on easy, imagine if he was on expert.. lmfao

  • I'd much rather pay to use a guitar hero controller, change the track on my own mp3 player on my own, or just actually interact with anything than do this.

  • Good for driving a MechWarrior around.

  • I miss playing MechWarrior 2

  • While this is a good demo - I feel like I was seeing the exact same level of 'fidelity' or resolution in demos of similar technology done as long as 15 years ago.. Perhaps their patents are for specific hardware designs, but i see nothing ground breaking here.. Possibly an attempt by M$ to capitalize on prior art while creating weak patents that will be easy to defend given Microsoft's cash resources.

  • isn't the jogging guy the dad from the songsmith video?

  • this is going to fcking far... seroiusly how fcking lazy must you be....

  • Lazy enough to want to go outside and start jogging.

  • well, why not be lazy? what is wrong with being lazy?

  • @ArmanMoo exactly. hard work pays off over time. laziness pays off right now.. :-)

  • cool.... but what about voice control.

  • It could help disabled folks who are mute.

  • exactly, while proving useful for many other things, it is NOT a reliable gaming application

  • @azenchen I agree. This isnt the tech that gaming needs. Although. it would help with some. IT needs more work and Controllers are still needed to be able to correctly use this Technology.

  • not yet...

  • that fails

  • The guitar hero thing looks interesting, but it's kinda pointless, playing air guitar. I rather like to have something to grab :) It can be useful for other things, tho

  • like masturbating without gaining calluses

  • @gedamg lmao

  • at 0:20 the guy is like spazzing.

  • ha lazyness

  • efficiency=intelligent laziness

  • not funny

  • It can be used to help those who have limited strength because of legitimate physical disability. Not just to make people more lazy. Sheesh!

  • getting lazier by the day

  • discrimination against handless/armless people.

  • @Brezable

This would still work for people without hands, as the muscles for finger movement are still there in the forearm. Armless people might be able to use it on their leg, though it would have to be adapted for that appendage.

  • Discrimination? What kind of retard are you?

  • not a retard like you who actually responds to an obvious joke.

  • Lmao the batteries go and sit in ur ass

  • 0:57 is WIN, lol

  • Playing with a powerless controller.

    What a fail.

    lmao

  • looking forward to it

  • LOL, xbox controller not on!

  • would this work if you're epileptic?

  • lol, you could use the pressure things in your arm to change porn videos without having to slow down

  • Microsoft has been one of the financial backers of the right-wing Alexis de Tocqueville Institution who declared war on Linux and supported tobacco.

  • dumb ass

  • The only thing more frightening than allowing Microsoft to monitor your muscle movement is the dull drone like voice of the commentator.

Yet you are all so eager to plug yourself into a Microsoft operating system. Enjoy being assimilated by Microsoft muscle probes...

(BTW, this sort of thing isn't exactly new either. Microsoft certainly doesn't deserve a patent for it).

  • This is huge,

  • Ah, a better way to browse porn? ; )

  • I love it! Soon, we'll just have the sensors implanted into our arms! The future is now! I wish I was joking about my excitement!

  • ХУЙНЯ!!!

  • Think of Spiderman, and how he only shoots web with exact pressure, and force. This is amazing!

  • you will never be spider man

  • whore

  • insane ...

  • Comment removed

  • wtf!! imagine how this one could help these days!

  • Microsoft FTW!

  • this is

    soo

    genius!

  • You gotta love technology. But it's pathetic, every new technology is based on lazyness =/. But hey, lazy is nice :D

  • I somewhat disagree. The Wii was pretty new concerning technology and yet it's been known to help people lose weight. Then again, can't really judge from one product.

  • Holy shit.

  • Amazing ._.

  • I must say cool stuff :P

  • Awesome

  • hey guys just gotta scratch my nose

And my computer does something stupid like play embarrassing music. I cant see this being too useful lol.

  • @Boonzeet

i thought the same, but that can be worked around by only using gestures that are not often or casually done, especially if using multiple occurrences of the gesture to signal the event

  • future!

  • how are you going to recognize a movement that isn't supposed to trigger it? I got an itch on my nose but don't want to switch a button on, stuff like that, cool stuffs tho

  • Surface was just the beginning.

  • wow

  • thats really good and I hope that they add more control
