Seems it suffers from the Xenosaga syndrome of lots of cutscenes but somehow not as entertaining or informal. This game feels like it suffers from almost 1st year system game or rushed to be released syndrome.
However, they seem to have spent more time making the game pretty and the music nice. I think the problem with voice acting is the fact that Square or Tri-Ace didn't bother making syncable for English voice acting. Though Kenny at least has a good voice.
Wow, really? After seemingly to have completely IGNORED the Kenni/Kenny line in Star Ocean 3, they bust out an ancestor of Ronixis (from SO1) and Claude (from SO2) in SO4. Not bad at all, if I say so myself. All that talking DOES blow, however...less talk...more action!!!
Yeah, but I believe they're going to establish this as an alternate timeline. Or at the very least, they'll be establishing that Star Ocean 3 never happened, because it was a virtual version of the Star Ocean universe anyway.
That would make some sense in either case, but considering that SO3 also occurs well AFTER SO2...maybe the Kenny line wasn't so important anymore. Whatever, I may just get the game if a certain retarded aspect of SO3 (dying from running outta MPs) was done away with in SO4.
OT: One thing that's a crying shame: not localizing the GBC game Star Ocean: Blue Sphere. Direct sequel to SO2 ftw? Yes, please!!
Man, 'whispery narrator voice' doesn't really work for the main character...even the girl's voice is too mature-sounding for her character design.
It seems kinda funny that an RPG like this is being given so much 'real life' background to it. The contrast is so drastic, it actually makes it seem even more ridiculous....which would have been okay if they had just used a more anime/RPG like setting for the beginning, but ah well... XD
The way the short, wide-stomached guy waddles in place with this hands moving even when he's standing still, really freaks me out and scares me more than clowns.
In general, I hate CG in games because they tend to use a lot of identical repeating motions which freak me out.
In any case, thanks for posting this, it was funny listening to the voice-over ranting.
I was gonna do that for FFX, but, technical problems, need a preamp/mixer.
Is there such a thing as punity? ROFL. Since there's a red line under the word my guess would be no.

In the beginning on the map thingy showing all the explosions, did anyone else notice that Greenland NEVER GOT HIT?!? Neither did Iceland.

@MobiusZero4 I got the same impression, the story was kind of lame too but the battle system, beasties, and gameplay made up for it, IMO
