  • This didn't fit in my first post. Liked the video though. Slow is the way to go!! Thanks for teaching this new way to do the wave stitch with yo!! I was having trouble with one I saw before.

  • I stopped the video at the end & zoomed in to count the stitches you used. Maybe the instructions under it should say, "CO __ sts", in your case, 36 & include the K1 before & at the end of the pattern row, plus on the purl row. I copied your instructions in an email to myself & added those things for myself to follow.

I know the 6 yo section is to make up for the 6 decs made by K2tog, 6 times total, in each 'pattern section' but some beginners might not understand that. Audio would help.

  • Thank you for your SLOW techniques and interesting patterns. But I am a beginner and I'm having trouble with this set. The problem I'm having is two-fold: the video shows you adding an extra knit stitch at the beginning and end of each row, which is not in the written instructions- so which should I follow? Won't it throw off the 17 st cast on? Also, can you increase the width? would it be multiples of 15 + 2 or what? Sorry, I'm also not great at math, either. BTW the design is lovely, thanks.

  • @connall06 You cast on a multiple of 17 and then 1 edge stitch each side. Our sample has 2 times 17 + 1 st each side = 36 sts.

  • @dropsdesign

I get it now; thank you. I hope my scarf looks as nice as your piece.

    Take care,

    connal

  • What type of yarn is that?

  • @dappledfeather Hi, the yarn we are using is Drops Eskimo 100% wool, supersoft and easy knitted.

  • This is friggin awesome

  • I like your videos, however some audio instructions would make the process more clearer, thanks :)

  • @crochet65 Our vides always have a written text to go with them (right under the video). Here on You Tube and on Vimeo it's always in English, but on our website you will get it in the language page you are on.

  • Hi!

Was your original cast on 37 stitches?

    Thanks.

  • @shoeshopyoga No we cast on 36 sts, i.e 2 times 17 + 1 edge st each side.

  • how would you cast on?

  • @bxshortii09 We just used a regular long tail cast on, but any method works fine.

  • It would be nice if it has some audio and the stitches in slow motion for us the beginner

  • Isn't this also called "feather and fan" and "old shale" ?

  • @thejarofrice yes :)

  • my son made me some thick needles using wooden dowels, pointed with a sander and I rubbed a wax candle on them until it is as polish as plastic, then he made me a big hook. I have not tried them yet, a thick yarn would be good. But snow is only starting melt I will go out next week. I am a beginer

  • I truly love the way you show the stitch. no sound is fantastic, and these wonderful wooden needles are amazing. Where could I get some? Should I carve them myself?

    Thanks again.

  • @anteabuel - the wood needles are sold in the stores carrying the line of DROPS yarns and needles. Listings of all stores in all countries are found on our website.

  • i love that yarn ! what type of yarn is it ??

  • Gorgeous!!

Please may I have the written pattern?

    Thank you.

  • any advice on using this to knit a hat in the round? or point me in the direction of a pattern?

  • @soulfocusphotography Hi we have a hat in wave pattern free on our website, it's pattern no 102-36

  • I love the pattern, but I didn't have any sound??

  • @fibronana Our videos do not have sound, so nothing is wrong :-)

We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people speaking endless of different languages and many do not understand English. So since there is not a given language for us to use, we instead have written some instructions on the video page, and then there is no sound to disturb while watching.

  • How many loops do you have on your needles? I've been trying to do this for about an hour now, and i have YET to do it right...

  • What size needles are you useing?

  • @gambrell104 We are using needles size 9 mm, US 13.

  • this is awesome
