damn man i remember how great hte view of downtown was, i lived in charlotte for 9 years almost 10, then in 2009 i moved to albuqeurque, the mountains are awosme but i miss the big city view like this.
Ive lived in charlotte for 20 yrs now and its has grown more then u could imagine even through this tuff economy we are still growin like a leaf! Everybody should visit Charlotte u wont be dissapointed! I promise
with so many people living in the ATL metro area make me think what is wrong with the rest of the state , so come to HOUSTON TEXAS sixth largest meto and forth in population and growing but we also have DALLAS 4th largest metro AND FORT WORTH AND SAN ANTIONIO AND AUSTIN and a lot of things to do all over the state and the room to do it in.
that cause texas is big for no reason at all texas is 268,820 sq mi that larger than georgia, south carolina, north carolina, florida and alabama combined 263.524 sq mi, so that like: MAMI, ORLANDO, TAMPA, JACKSONVILLE, ATLANTA, BIRMINGHAM, COLUMBIA, CHARLOTTE, GREENSBORO, WINSTON-SALEM and RALEIGH metros in one state!!!!!! a state that would be largest then cali in pop so there no point of bragging how many large metros texas has cause with its size it should have more!
Metro Atlanta is now the nation's 8th largest metro area just passing Wasington D.C. and stil growing supposed to pass Miami next year to become number 7 and projected to be the 6th largest by 2020. Charlotte is now where Atlanta was 30 years ago.
But, Charlotte is growing like hell, And they have have a shit load of room. Charlotte land wise is "HUGE" Dont be surprised if charlotte actually surpasses atlanta in the future, Even though i wouldnt count on it, It just might happen.
what is highschool like over there? are the people nice and everything? cuz i really want to move there but i want to make sure ill be able to adjust to it:)
Atlanta, GA is bigger. You can't go by city limit population. Atlanta is so overpopulated and sprawled it can't annex like Charlotte can. Atlanta has a metro of close to SIX MILLION people. whereas charlottes is about above 2 million
for the nyc2atl01, i live in Charlotte, and have done research and it turns out that Charlotte is larger than Atlanta in size and population, there is over 600,000 people here, and about 400,000 in Atlanta, so stop talking shit about Charlotte, and for there states, North Carolina is also bigger than Geaorgia, NC has about 9 million people, GA has about 7 or 8 million, so shutup, you know nothing.
Also the Charlotte area is growing at 80,000 per year. I love QC. Charlotte is also larger in size and is the 2nd behind NYC in banking in the US. Let nyc2atl01 know that Atlanta just has a large metro area.
brman1018 needs to get his facts straight. YES, Charlotte has a larger population(671,588as of 07), but it's city limits cover a whopping 280.5 sq. miles! It's metro pop. was only 2,491,650. Compare that to ATL's population of 519,145 crammed into 132.4 square miles (metro pop:5,626,400as of 2007)! That means ATL is nearly TWICE as dense as Charlotte and the metro pop. is nearly 3 times the size of Charlotte's! GA's pop. was 9,544,750 as of 07, while NC's pop. was 9,061,032 as of 07.
@brman1018 Georgia and North Carolina are both great. North carolina is slightly smaller than Georgia (in land area and population). Although the population of Georgia is bigger by about 600,000. But to my surprise, North Carolina grew several percentage points faster than the Atlanta metro area in the 2000-2009 census. Charlotte's population as of now (realizing that your post is 2 years old) is 756,000! And Atlanta's is only about 550,000, but it is less than half the size of Charlotte.
I visisted Charlotte for one week, I absolutly loved it! What a beautifull city although I will say bieng from the Pacific NorthWest, you guys really need to learn to make real coffee. Other than that I just cant say enough good about Charlotte.
umm charlottes skyline is expanding really fast..or at least that what i hear..ps buffalo, cincinatti (named aftera roman general), ext area all named queen city
I'm originally from the Charlotte area. This city has GROWN within the past 20 years. Over 600,000 people are now "Queen City" residents and those numbers are rising. Eventhough it's not a ATL (Atlanta) it's still a unique and lively town in it's own way. Charlotte will always have a special place in my heart. Simply because it's home for me.

LOL...What a fun debate. Every knows that the MSA is really the only number that counts. While ATL is the 8th biggest city with 5,138,223 people, Charlotte is 43 with 1,583,016. Ask advertisers which city is more important a TOP 10 or barely TOP 50. Atlanta is on par with cities like Houston, Miami, New York, Chicago etc.. Charlotte is on par with cities like Omaha, Des Moies, Raleigh, and Richmond. When you start having MULTI BILLION DOLLAR MEGA DEVELOPMENTS then MAYBE you can respond.

Been to that city a few times...surprised by how cold it gets in the winter. Winter is not as short as I thought it would be. Anyway, very nice area otherwise. I like the neighborhoods of South Charlotte in particular.
