  • strange, theres an enter key on mine

  • Where did you buy the desk you are using in this video?

  • @StayJelly

I have been asked that a lot.

It was a custom order from Office Max or Office Depot.

    Sorry, can't remember.

  • I'll buy one today.but I'm getting the 21.5''.

  • Nice!!

  • People will say that Apple is expensive just because of the brand, but if you actually use an Apple products you will know how it never crashes and never gets viruses. Apple products are great if you want to sleep at night knowing that your files won't go corrupted.

  • do you use the native resolution? I find everything extremely small in the native res,, its kinda sad having to close your head on a 27inch mac.

  • Hi! Great review I got the IMAC 27 inch but it's the 3.1 GHz this weekend. I love it. My only complaint is I have to by the Office program for Word, Excel and Powerpoint!

  • 18 people have a imac and dont care xD

  • Good review- I too am in the design business and am seeking all the Win-Vs-Mac reviews I can find. So tired of Windows 7 crashing for a plethora of unknown reasons; just want reliability for my money.

  • I have a question. Will this computer be good for playing Sims 3 and all its expantions, and Zoo tycoon 2 without any freezing and lag on highest settings?

  • @TheNikko88

It is more than powerful enough. This is made for HD editing.

  • Whatever i do my apple mice feels retarded. I had to replace it with windows mice and some windows driver to make it feel responsive. If you switching from windows machine avoid any mac mice.

  • there is firewire 800 to whatever cords you can buy, 3rd party. i use them all the time.

  • I really want an iMac but I have to wait a little less then a year :(

  • my $600 hp laptop runs just as fast. I am very dissapointed. and I'm talking about the 2011 imac.

  • Two things... Regarding the Firewire issue... Do a google for a MOSHI FW adaptor.. Several available.

And you forgot to mention about the SSD option, and the 2GB Video card availability. Rendering time for HD video would be nice to know as well... Otherwise a nice review.

  • You can get 3x better specs with pc's under 1k. Mac is like abrocrombie.. your paying for the name :/

  • @shibbbyshelby Does your PC come with a 27 inch S-IPS Monitor?

  • Cool review...

  • apple products are for rich people ! of corse we dont have the same definition of being rich !

  • Great video, thank you so much

  • @tjrush

    Ended up getting one, thanks!

  • 29 nov 2009? Really?

  • @GooglyVid

What is the question? That is when I got my 27" iMac and posted this video.

Are you looking for a review of the new Thunderbolt iMacs?

  • @ReviewGuy1000 Nope, it's like I didn't know 27" iMacs were launched in 2009..

  • @GooglyVid

    lol ..

    i play it sim3 ya dummy ..

look at da' spec .. i dont think u blind @_@

  • Is it good for music production

  • What is these glass speaker?? I want them!! Are they sounding better than just the internal iMac speakers??

  • @coolboy153

They are sound sticks by H/K.

They also come with a clear subwoofer.

    They sound fantastic.

  • Great review but i still had a few questions. Is the iMac 27" able to play the most recent games at maximum settings? Is the iMac 27" a computer which is able to turn the whole day on without getting to much overheat? Please answer asap

  • this is the great review .

  • If you want a free imac, visit this site, and sign up!

    apple . freebiejeebies . co . uk /552581

    Take out the spaces!

  • I hate the fact that youtube is full of this kind of videos in which computer dorks(or however you call them) show their iMacs(nothing new people, just another waste of time)...p.s. not jelous, i also got one

  • @LukaDFantom

Sorry to have wasted your time. What were you looking for if you searched for iMac review?

    Just curious...

  • you are a great reviewer. keep it up!

  • Oh man! The transitions of Time Machine look so smooth!

My Mac Mini is pretty slow compared to that big thing...

  • Good job dude. I have a windows 7 machine atm and all my friends have macs. I guess the only thing holding me back is the price. What do u think I should do. 1 get a mac mini and keep 7. 2 sell all and get an iMac? Any comments would be appreciated. Josh in the UK.

  • I LOVE YOUR OFFICE/ROOM!!!!

  • Does it have jungle wires I'm looking for less wires and more on wireless?

  • This is useless bro...

  • @TheGrevious55

Haha, my review was useless or something else?

If it was the review, what else would you have liked?

I didn't do full speed tests of tech break downs because those way more quailified than me have already done that.

    Lemme know what was useless.

  • @ReviewGuy1000 It wasn't useless... this is the first time I've ever heard about that "icon thumbnail preview" on the iMac

  • @wawahwario

    Whew, I thought I failed...

  • Woot purple!

  • I had my imac 27" for a month or 2 and i just noticed i only used the dvd player 1 time

  • @rudy76107 dude, screw that...... right, get a hdmi-minidispay converter. wire your mac up to your tv. get a external drive to store all your movies and download a iphone app to act as a remote......

now my friend, you have a full home media hub - and can choose from a huge amount of dvd's! it is great little gadget for movie nights etc....

  • @drew2pac wow great tip but, converter cost to much

  • there's adapters for firewire 800 to 400 for like $30

  • Hey there, I plan on buying one of these just for general use like internet use, watching videos, music for my Zune, and Lightroom for editing my photos. Will this computer do all that just fine, especially for mid/heavy internet use. I had PC's all my life that were always bought used and I'm tired of having slow pieces of crap, I want this beast for its speed and is gorgeous display.

  • @BigCatsWildlife: yes it will do all that, that's what Macs are made for..you will not be disappointed..I have a Mac Mini hooked up to my TV and I couldn't be happier..HDMI and wireless keyboard and Trackpad and it runs multiple programs really fast..it's a great buy

  • Ordered my iMac27 this week. I plan to do a lot of video editing/ post production with it. Below is my configuration:

    PROCESSOR 065-9512 2.93GHZ QUAD-CORE INTELCORE I7

    • MEMORY 065-9516 8GB 1333MHZ DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB

    • HARD DRIVE 065-9455 2TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE

    • GRAPHICS 065-9457 ATI RADEON HD 5750 1GB GDDR5

    • OPTICAL DRIVE 065-9458 8X DOUBLE-LAYER SUPERDRIVE

    • FINAL CUT EXPRESS 065-7682 FINAL CUT EXPRESS

How'd I do? Got the wired keyboard. Will upgrade to FC Studio later.

  • Did you have the i5 or i7 in the video ?. Great vid by the way

  • You didn't mention the horrid price tag though lol

  • the imac g4 is so beautiful *drools*

  • @dyl4n3atgmaildotcom

Yeah, a few have told me that. I bought from the Apple Store. They just handed me the box. You can't really read the box there until they roll it out to the register...

    Thanks

  • Great Review! i just got my i-7 quadcore, although was surprised to discover hot it runs. Should I be concerned about the temperature? I installed a SMS Fan Control to bring the temp down....

  • This guy deserves WAY more than 700 subs.

  • you definetely OOOOOOOWN soldierknowsnothing and jon4fuckers

  • @gaussman08 hahahaha i agree ;D

  • Comment removed

  • what would you suggest getting the Apple 27" Cinema Display or the Quad-Core?

  • I got mine today and it gets so dang hot after casual use (Safari, iTunes, YouTube) that i cant hardly even touch the top. Is this normal or did I get a bad nut?

  • Very nicely done!

Great editing and ideas - pictures on the screen etc.

Could have done with a few more numbers and performance details, but - not a deal breaker ;)

  • @mightlife

I didn't really want to "clock" stuff when the Apple site does all of that stuff already.

Plus they have all of the detailed specs on the site as well.

I try to show stuff they don't typically show.

  • @ReviewGuy1000 it was done very well and I look forward to more.

Unfortunately, there seem to be too many people out there with interesting kit, but no clue how pass on relevant information about it in an entertaining, creative way.

    I'm glad I found this review :)

  • What camera do you use?

  • @nate1mizzou

    Canon HS10

  • Woohoo! Question! Can you plug in every USB-Keyboard? :D

  • @WenRproductions

I would assume so, unless you had some crazy PC only version that needed software to operate.

  • did you come in csi?

  • Hi. Like the video (and the colour of your walls...) Have you had any issues with this machine since you bought it?

    Thanks.

  • @Gunter451

    No issues so far.

  • You can do the ichat screen sharing in Windows Live Messenger as well, it's been around for a few years but it's tucked away in one of the tool bars so no one really sees it.

  • i love this review man!

  • i like your computer desk; :D

  • is the imac dual core where u can also have windows on it? please some one tell me :)

  • Imacs are destroying dv cameras this is A warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Imacs are destroying dv cameras this is A warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:05 yeah, they are supposed to put a jack for an ipod over 8 years ago.... im actually suprised you have an first ipod XD

  • @hjsummers98

iLife is a software suite. it conatins applications like iPhoto, iMovie, Garage band, iWeb & iDVD...

iMovie is the application which can be used for editing movies...

  • this was a good review

  • @matsas16193 yes it has more wallpapers than windows xD

  • @jpenner99 Any image can be used as wallpaper for any modern OS. None has more than any other.

  • Great review.

  • I have a pointless question! Can u change the desktop background on iMac?

  • @matsas16193

    Easily - so yes.

  • @matsas16193 Your a n00b

  • @matsas16193 of course

  • not going to lie, this review has somethings that just dont make sense... first as others have stated firewire 800 is not a big deal, get a 400 to 800 cable not a big deal, also the i5 that is used in the imac is not as fast or top of the line as the i7 model, and you can order it with a keyboard that has the numeric pad

  • @askloglog good point. I got nervous for a minute then I realized the only difference between FW400 and FW800 was connector/receptacle size & speed. Overall I really like the review this guy did. It could be that the devices he plans to use came with FW400 on one end and a proprietary connector on the other end, so it's a hassle to replace all those cables. I hear ya on that brother. technology changes so fast you can spend a lot of dough and get burned on the little stuff.

  • @BigNate84 very true, thats why when i started upgrading and building computers, and getting more and more devices to connect i actually bought a lot of cables... haha to be exact i bought 1-2 extra of every cable i could ranging from audio, to video, to internal pc wires, and all the cable adapters for size or cable change... it was a huge pain, but not that i have all that money in cables, if i ever need one i have it at my disposal lol

  • so is this i5 or i7?

  • You are "professional" that shoots video reviews and you dont know that there is firefire 400-800 cable......?!!

  • @adobePC Regardless of whether Apple "should have" done this or that, the simple solution is a FW 800-400 cable. I bought mine (a LaCie) at B&H for under $10. Problem solved.

@ReviewGuy1000 I won't bother to search for the Maumusica post. It's just amazing how snipers (who probably never created a thing or helped anybody) blast away when somebody does something nice. Amazing.

  • everything is cheap in the US. THe imac costs almost twice here.

  • By far the best value mac. The display makes it a really good buy. But as a hardcore geek you just gotta build your own pcs. More options to customize them and some additions like hdmi etc. and I'm sold.

  • just buy an adapter firewire 800 to 400 like I did.

  • While you can get a Fire Wire 800 to Fire Wire 400 cable the Apple computer should have at least one Fire Wire 400 port. Some AV equipment still uses Fire Wire 400 ports. All Apple computers should have eSATA ports as well.

  • hey, i have this exact computer

i bought it about a month ago

and now sometimes when i turn it on

it has a green vertical line and a pink vertical line running through the screen

then i restart it and the lines have gone

    what is happening :|

  • @Harrisabd HAHA $1,700 well spent im sure

  • @Harrisabd Take it to Apple. Might be a GPU or display issue. ATI had some dodgy GPU batches that happened to go into the last generation models. If you have Apple Care it should be no problem to get it sorted, even if you don't if it's a known fault or they're just feeling kind they'll fix it for no cost anyway.

  • @TalesOfWar

yeah i got apple care, we told by numerous people to call apple care :) thanks dude

  • good review, props man

  • will the new macbook pros with the i5 dual core be able to edit hp content smoother then before? i would like to get an imac 27 i7 but i currently have a 24inch imac core 2 and really need a laptop more..

  • @robertmsanchez86 Maybe sell the core 2 iMac and get both? Macs tend to have a high resale price :)

  • Can you use that mouse on Windows pc?

  • the best computer!

  • im getting a imac 27 inch tomorrow :-D

  • great review man it realy is !

  • they do make seperate full num pad keyboards in the same design

  • you can buy a 400 to 800 firewire adapter(Y)

  • I got a little sick to my stomach when you brought up time machine.

  • Thanks :) for the review :D I'm now waiting for my own first ever iMac 27" K511 :)

  • Hey which processor is in this beast? :D the i5 or the i7? Really great review btw :)

  • Thanks for the video :D

  • hi can i ask you something? if i get a imac do i need to connect it to an apple AirPort Extreme Base Station

  • @InfiniteAppReviews

That is exactly it, read your note.

I just have the 2010 up there as the model.

I would be wrong if I said "2010 review"

I didn't, I said it was "27" iMac review" then I put the year afterward.

    Just a title.

    Nothing sneaky intended.

Sorry I ruffled your feathers with that one. Didn't mean to fail so badly.

  • you can buy a fire wire 800 to 400

  • @niceboy60 I'm not a mac user, but I am switching, if you send ur old computer to the apple store, and they move all ur files to a mac, I'm not entirely sure about programs though, probably they switch the programs that are compatible with mac and leave the ones that aren't.

  • Wah j'aime vraiment ton bureau il est super beau !

Bravo pour la décoration ;-) ..Pour ce qui est de l'iMac , merci pour ton déballage , cela me permet de voir ce qui m'attend !

  • how old is this video. this guys is naming futures thats been out for almost 2 years!

  • @BEVPProductions

My thought was that people replace their computer every 4 to 5 years, not every other year. So other than just saying the computer was faster and had a nicer screen that there were some fun upgrades to the OS features.

  • @ReviewGuy1000 Yeah, some people can't afford to replace a computer every year.

  • @BEVPProductions Ever occur to you that some people are new to Mac and might be interested?

  • As far as asking how portable you think it would be compared to what I own now is concerned. I work construction and I would be driving to a city, setting up shop so to speak for a few weeks or more, then pulling up the tent stakes and moving on. Your thoughts?

  • Last Sunday I purchased a 21.5" iMac with the 3.06GHz in it. This is my first Mac after owning a Dell laptop with a 1.4GHz. I am loving my new iMac and I also purchased it for portability. I purchased a case from iLugger. I don't know much but I do know it is better than what I have currently, but who am I to complain? I guess my question is, could this one be as portable as what I own now, and how much faster is the processor than what I own now?

  • Awesome review! Thanks!

  • love your video.

  • very well explained, a few new tricks for me as well, thank you sir

  • I do understand the Mac have some great apps but at the moment I m a windows 7 user If I change to a Mac do I loose all my windows progames ?,

or I can keep some windows applications?

    Mac users Please help !!!

  • @niceboy60 umm it depends on what programs u usaly use lets say u use windows movie maker well then u can change to imovie if u get a mac so mac has SOME windows stuff but changed a little or a lot to a mac or a windows thing that was changed fully into a mac hope i helped :D

  • Comment removed

  • @Maumusica

    There must be some confusion.

I didn't say someone told me you can't use 400.

I was shocked they didn't have the 400 input since they forced me to buy so many 400 devices. Yes I know I can buy more wires/adaptors, but I thought that was a bummer.

And I don't remember ever suggesting I was an expert, just sharing what I had learn.

Sorry my video made you so upset. I never intended to insult anyone.

  • best product review i have ever seen to date.

  • Do recommend getting thus over a MacBook pro when I already have a iPad?

  • @TheDamschroder

iPad is just an oversized iPod touch. So there is really no comparasion to the MacBook Pro.

  • awsome man relly good rewive i'm gonna get that asap

ps i love the desk XD you got any link /store that i can go and check out?

  • FireWire 800 is backwards compatible with 800. You just need a 800 to 400 cable. Hope that helps.

  • FireWire 800 is backwards compatible with 400. You just née

  • You can ask for the number pad when you buy it, actually

  • @YouSayTomado, You can get the keyboard with the numeric pad however its not wireless. If it was then it would be great.

  • 0:42 iMac is a TV?

  • @madsipuli its a camera

  • Whats The Video Camera Resoloution

  • you look like Glenn Beck

  • strange, i have a 27" imac and mine came with a slightly different keyboard, it has a larger enter key

  • D: I have this computer and for some reason when I turned it on the screen went completely white and it just went out of warranty help!

  • nice video just for this am going to subscribe

  • When you bought the iMac, you could've gotten the full keyboard with numpad instead of the one you got. I am the same way, I need my extra keyboard space.

  • when editing video, what is more important fast video card or fast cpu?

  • @roger767 both. cpu to actual get everything done a cpu would be needed. then to see the images a gpu is needed.

tight on money. a cpu would be better

  • If you miss the numeric keypad, why didn't you buy the iMac with one? On the Apple website, you can customize your order and choose a numeric keypad or the new wireless one.

  • give you $20 for your old mac. Also in 10 years I'll buy your 27" for $40

  • I want them to release the 30" and 32 mn cpu powered Imac. Pair that with a 30" cinema and you got a photo studio.

  • PC > MAC

    100%

  • @adgjmptw4 hahaha gtfo

  • god how i'd like to have an imac. :/

  • You're very welcome. I have more software for Mac than the Apple store itself. I also tutor newbies on how to use Macs if they think they need a little help. Machines are made to make our lives easier. Macs do that. If one has to spend time (and time again) to learn how to do mundane tasks, it's a waste of time. The Apple philosophy has always been "user friendly" and I think they succeed. Sure, it's technology, it's always open for improvement (and not bug free sometimes, but it's great!

  • @112194hj I'd recommend any Mac, but it does depend on your needs. They ALL come with the same software. So out of what comes with it, it's all great and can't be called "the best" because each app varies: Photos, movies, web, etc. There are, no argument, better apps out there for amazing stuff. Pixelmator is Mac's answer to Photoshop. Just as powerful, but instead of $600 it's around $60.

  • you could have ordered the keyboard with the number key...

  • @tighmir Many people find the number keypad overrated and useless. It's like a calculator, which is an app few people really use. My laptop has no number pad. The only time I've needed my calculator is at work doing time sheets. I've used the calculator on my iPod, phone, or even one from a nearby desk.

  • @nikoguitarshow i know i sure find it useless

  • wow this is exactly what i was looking for! Thanks alot man

One final question, would you say there is a big difference between the quad core i5 and 3.06ghz version?

  • @Sytrusze RAM is really the key, there's not a huge dif on the processors that you'd notice unless you'd doing some high end jobs or running multiple OS's at the same time. The fact that the quad is capable, however, is fantastic.

  • @nikoguitarshow Ahaa great! Ppl are saying that you don't even recognize the difference between 4gb ram and higher, guess that is false!

  • @Sytrusze It's all relative. If you're using basic Apple software and email and web surfing ... a gig is great. 2 is nice, too. If you're running saaaay, Windows 7 in the background, processing a movie you just made in iMovie, and trying to watch something on Hulu... it's going to blow up. 4 gigs would be much safer!

  • @nikoguitarshow guess i will go for the 16gb then, im doing alot with video/music and i've had enough of my Windows XP PC that crashes every single day...next month getting an i7 with 16gb :D !!

  • Hey ReviewGuy1000,

Can you recommend an HD camcorder for me?

What do you think about the Canon VIXIA HF S21?

  • Nice iMac, not so nice speakers, my Logitech Z3-e 2.1 speakers sound better and look a lot better with the iMac.
