only problem i see with half of these takedowns is your giving up your back in the process, which is really bad if you dont get the takedown

There is no any problem... enter to the techniques (i.e. transition between ranges) must be executed from the OUTER side of the opponent's body...

make more and the sense, it was great impressed me... i never thought of pulling some of that moves... for combat effiency the guy dont resist much... but handy stuff to know if the occasion present himself... use the right leverage at the right moment... the second technique you showed reality impressed me... MAke more wanna see more... and where are you guys based?

At the first, it is not correct to expect the suitable moment... Correctly executed punching combination (i.e. entrance to throw) ensures conducting the technique...

The first 2 throws look very effective and easy to do. I keep replaying it trying to figure out where to grasp and body weight transition.

would a real life opponant go down that easy though with these moves?

No, they probably wouldn't. This is a demonstration.

Also not to knock sambo (I'm a practitoner mysel), but be aware that the striking portion of the sport really isn't the best you can find. Sambists will get LIT UP by a kickboxer or MMA fighter.

That said, it's a great sport and it's certainly very applicable in the street.
