@KJVWordofGod It's not false dogma... You cannot answer the issue I pose. I did not get this from "scholars" nor did I say anything about the text which they translated from. It's simple logic, hades is not hell. And the ante nicene writers were well before Rome became a whore.
@coolvideo28 No hades and hell are two different places. Rev 20:14 makes this alarmingly clear. I will reply further to your email but this is not "bad" information... Its scripture and ante nicene writings.. Of which original KJV translators did not have access to nor understand.
@droptozro ....you have the false dogma of scholars, namely the KJV translators had inferior texts....not true. Your reference to the ante Nicene writings bewray your Roman Catholicism....the largest cult and whore of Babylon.
@KJVWordofGod Well if you're teachable friend and going to use extra biblical resources.. Then I'm going to use the early church, the ante nicene writers one link removed from the original apostles... And they all affirm that "hades" is in the bible. "hades" and "hell" are two different places. It seems the KJV translators did not understand this distinction.
Too bad the fella didn't quote the bible....he quoted a counterfeit, which kinda negates his argument. Proper quote: 2Pe:3:16: "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."
@greyspot00 you still do not understand. The lake of fire IS hell. Look at Mark 9:47-48. Jesus clearly states(even in KJV) that hell will never burn out. Hades will burn out, as Rev 20:13-14 says hades will be destroyed. So the abode of the dead will be destroyed in hell fire when it gives up all the dead after the two resurrections. Give it up man, they did not translate it right... I almost became KJV only. It's wrong among many others, this is just one I know best.
@droptozro U fellas are silly. The word "hades" is not in the bible. Webster's 1828 (THE standard for defining words in the KJV) states definition for "hell" # 8) A dungeon or prison. (which handily explains 1 Pet 3:19) Hell is a generic term. Y'all should google and study the Clarence Larkin charts. They readily and visually explain much that is misunderstood by Christians. Those charts also would settle your argument....that is if you both are open to teaching.
I use to read the NIV & thought King James only people were crazy, until one day I researched it & to my disbelief & much study on this issue. I have found out that the King James version Bible is the only real Bible left out there. For more evidance on this than you would ever want to read ask me & I will send you a message with a link to the mountains of evidence.
Same here. It's insane how much of our history is covered up or how "Christian history" gets merged into "catholic history." I didn't need a lot, but just knowing the miraculous circumstances around the creating and preservation of the KJV, along with the millions who have died in its defense is enough for me.
KJV has mistranslated words and bias' into it. No doubt. There is no perfect Bible... seriously, give it up. This turns into a useless dissension when people go KJVonly(if you are). I hate the NIV, but don't latch onto one version and call it the "only real Bible." I already gave the other guy a proof, the KJV translators mistranslated the word "hell" multiple times. There should be a Hades, a Sheol, a Tartarus etc... and they fail to understand the abode of the dead.
@droptozro I dont mean to be mean but you are wrong the KJV Bible is textus reseptus or a word for word translation of the original greek hebrew and arimaic. Just because you state somthing does not make it so. The KJV Bible is the only real Bible I can find. I lead people to the truth Gods living word. You trying to convince others we are wrong is leading them astray. Pray about it God will help you in this area. God bless.
@coolvideo28 I doubt he was suggesting that you're leading people astray through the use of a KJ Bible. He seemed only to be addressing the snobbery that some religiously stick to. Calling other reliable translations "not inspired" simply because they're not the KJV is just not accurate, nor logical. You personally may not be a KJ snob, but there is this weird boasting thing that does goes on. They're like Harley riders- no matter how good the bike, they wouldn't be caught dead on a Honda.
@SpeakaDaEnglish I can completly understand what you are saying I have been on both sides of this. From thinking KJV only people were nutz to becoming 1. I have done soo much research countless hours in complete disbelief, checking sources holding diferent Bibles comparing. I am telling U there is No other Bible that is Gods living word that I can find. look what God says in his word about anyone that adds or takes away from his word in Revelation he is very serious about this.
You are wrong, I was almost KJV only. You can attempt to answer the same issue, go ahead. Is hell the lake of fire or not? And where is "hades" in your KJV? Where did Jesus go when He died for 3 days?
I never said everything "new" was right, I just said the newer one corrected the error. The original KJV also had the apocrypha, would I take you trust that as Holy Spirit inspired? Why does the first German version also differ much from first English KJV version? Give it up
@droptozro It's true, there appears to be several teeny errors, not just the one you mention. They don't take anything away from the meaning of the passages they're found in, so it's ok. Most teachers and students use different translations to cross reference so nothing is ever really lost anyway. It's an interesting subject anyway, you know, how we got our Bibles...
@droptozro You were almost a KJV only until you were handed some bad information that you still believe. This is much to complicated a subject to go over in a comment section I have mountains of evidence literaly that KJV is only real Gods living word aka Bible. The Hades hell etc confusion you are trying to creat I am guessing not purposfuly but from misinformation has to do with diferent dictionary definitions when it was written. I will send you a link explaining this.
I used to be kjv only until I saw some mistranslations in it. particularly that the kjv say that God has put the world in our heart. If you look it up in the greek it means eternity not world. Some of the new translations like the nkjv got it right. I still believe in inerrnacy and that we do have the bible today. There is no such bird as a perfect translation.
@hatfieldadam Wow you are going to have a bone to pick with God than because he says.
Isaiah 40:8 KJV The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Check out jesus is savior dot com & look at the translations evaluated in extream detail. I wouldnt even use the nkjv like the niv as fire wood. This coming from somone who use to read the niv and thought KJVonly people were crazy & came to become one kicking and screaming with tons of proof
@coolvideo28 I absolutely believe what Isaiah says. God has preserved his Word. We have it in english. It was, however, inspired in the originals. As I stated before, even though I do not believe that one traslation is the only right one I still believe in the inerrancy of scripture. The believe that if you are not kjv only u are not an inerrantist is false and unfounded.
I still refer to the king james and believe it to be a reliable translation, but now use either the nkjv or the esv from the pulpit, most of the time now.
@Springs24 Is the lake of fire hell? They are personified, the issue is.. That is supposed to be hades... The prison where souls await resurrection. Not hell, no one is in hell yet. The beast and his false prophet are first. KJV wrongly translates all these words as hell.
I don't understand which part you're referring too... (comments lost in here)... I see you're not KJV only, so that's great---but to act like there's not translation errors would be incorrect. There are clearly, and even in the respect that every translation wrongly(except KJV) translates "seed" as "seeds" in Genesis when Paul corrects it in Gal 3 is ridiculous error. Footnotes and manuscript evidence shows multiple differences(just look at Revelation).
Oh nevermind the Isaiah comment... I see that was something directed at you and not your comment, sorry. I deleted it. Just clarify what you mean or were responding to about "hell" and the KJV... thanks!
i believe in the inerrancy of scripture i just don't believe that the KJV is the only correct translation. However, neither do I accept all translations as good. There are basically only four that I use frequently. KJV, NKJV,NASB, and ESV
I'd say I agree with you, I just use NKJV and the KJV or Young's literal at times. I also use the Septuagint, since our apostles did... just so much controversy surrounds it, but the differences in texts is very clear from the quotes in the NT and the comparison to the Masoretic.
Can you address your initial objection though? Something of "hell" in response to me, but I don't think I understood it...
I actually agree with you. There are, I believe, seven words translated as hell in the kjv. they all mean different things and cannot be the same place. I also agree with you that hell is temporal and the lake of fire is eternal, yet no doubt all who are in hell will go to the lake of fire. I guess i misunderstood something you said. we actually agree
How would Peter (of 2 Peter) know of the Book of Revelations (by Apos. John), if it is generally accepted that St. Peter was martyred before Revelations was written in the island of Patmos by the Apostle John, when Apos. John was already an old man? The premise of this video is grossly ignorant of Church history.
@GorCancio Peter knew all about the Day of the Lord as he was an eyewitness of JC and even heard the voice of God which came from Heaven. Peter reminded folks to be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets and of Jesus. Peter himself knew the day of the Lord would come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away. He knew, just like Isaiah knew, Jeremiah knew, Ezekiel, Joel, Amos, Obad, Zechariah, Malachi too. That is why the scriptures are powerful.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Those who receive the gospel should adhere to the truth of the gospel, be not ashamed of the gospel, live in subjection to the gospel, have their conversation becoming of the gospel, earnestly contend for the faith of the gospel, sacrifice friends and property for the gospel, and sacrifice life itself for the gospel. The gospel is hid to them that are lost and testifies to the final judgment. Be careful not to hinder the gospel. Let him who preached another gospel be accursed.
The gospel was foretold and preached under the Old Testament. The knowledge of the glory of God is by the gospel and is the power of God to salvation. The gospel is glorious, everlasting, and was preached by Christ. The doctrines of the gospel are from God, are taught by scripture, are godly, and lead to holiness and fellowship with the Father and with the Son.
Those who oppose are proud, ignorant, doting about questions and to be avoided.
there is no perfect bible friend. give up the search/grasp. I almost went down the KJVonly road... Rev 20:14 is a clear mistranslation in that version. Hell is not being thrown into hell one day... Hades is being thrown into hell(lake of fire). Don't get me wrong... some versions are really bad but I plead with you to avoid that path of dissension. God bless
God didn't say it, man mistranslated it. Hell is the lake of fire, it's the exact place Jesus spoke of in Matt 10:28
"...But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Jesus visited Hades, not HELL. This is clear from multiple other Scriptures, Hades/Sheol is in the heart of the earth---KJV translators had no idea. See Rev 20:13-14, very clear HADES will be destroyed in Hell. Hades is where Jesus went. KJV mistranslated Acts 2:27-31, Rev 20:13-14
It was translated fine. Because you want to use another word doesn't make it wrong. Hell/hades/whatever you want to call it, will be cast into the Lake of Fire, which burns with fire and brimstone.
@greyspot00 U fellas are silly. The word "hades" is not in the bible. Webster's 1828 (THE standard for defining words in the KJV) states definition for "hell" # 8) A dungeon or prison. @droptozro If everything New was right you should then believe in evolution and global warming and that homosexuality is somthing people aer born with. look at the changes to websters dictionary it use to say what a unicorn was a rinousouris, but it has been edited they took that out and put the mythical creature only hummm.
@coolvideo28 "If everything New was right you should then believe in evolution and global warming and that homosexuality is somthing people aer born with."
That is really an over the top exaggeration of this issue. It's true that the NIV is not word for word as accurate to the original languages as are the NAS or the KJV, but the truth of God's message still comes clearly through. People use different versions for different purposes. It's not completely worthless as a Bible.
It's interesting how false teaching can be look so devious. Such as making Jesus' words more important than the rest of the Bible. Our in knee jerk reaction is to say it is because it was Jesus that physically spoke them. I remember when modernists only liked the New Testament. Then, they must've actually read Paul's writings because now days they only like Jesus' words. Just something I noticed.
@SpeakaDaEnglish truth be told i used to read NIV until i compared scripture by scripture and found that over 64,000 (yes 3 zeros) words were taken out. I was shocked when reading the NKJV and KJV along with my NIV to find that entire verses were omitted. It is not a good bible if it is considered one at all. Maybe one that could be used to more easily understand KJV, but not one I would study and memorize from.
@unprofitableservant4 Just because the King James is more superfluous doesn't mean it's a better traslation. The reason it is that way is because it's translated from the Heb/Greek to the Latin and then to the English, whereas the NIV and the NAS are traslated directly from the Heb/Greek to English. It's a matter of preference really, and there is nothing wrong with using a KJV, but in terms of accuracy for study purposes, the others are probably better. I like to use all three.
@greyspot00 "There are enough flat out errors, along with all of the other changes, to make anyone with a brain doubt that."
I prefer the NAS to the others for the intelligent reason I've already given you. Don't allude to me as not having a brain, as I didn't give you a brainless response like the one you just gave me.
You who try to nullify the HOLY BIBLE should realize one thing, you will believe that every word from Genisis to Revelation is the inspired word of the living GOD one twinkling of the eye after you gasp your last breath and wake up in eternity
@jwissick The Bible points itself to being a LIVING testemony that that the scriptures are the inspired word of God,from Paul saying that scripture is inspired and should be used for teaching and doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16) But also from God Himself,that says if you Repent and Trust in the Savior,He will give you a new heart,with new desires to do His Will. This has been tested and proven since Christ for many years.
@jwissick Well I'm impressed because I just read an old blog of Ray Comforts about you sending him a gift sometime back. Very kind of you. Of course after reading the context as to why you sent the gift sarcasm was the motivation. But.....a gift it was and it appeared Ray appreciated it. Just remember J works will not earn you good grace with God.
@jwissick - No, James. You're the one with the logical fallacies. The earliest attributions to the Gospels -- made within one generation of when they were written -- were never in question at the time you think they were named. It's got nothing to do with appealing to tradition and everything to do with people passing down known facts.
@WilliamTyndale1 Jan doesnt discount the scriptures. Someone should send this to Todd again... I've heard him completely twist the rich young man and Jesus passage. Many pastors are ignoring Jesus' words and they really don't understand a lot because of twisting Pauls letters and not looking at what Paul quoted in the OT context.
Yeah the early church did believe other books though and debated their authenticity. Minor books and issues for most though. Wish Todd would take more time to study the ante nicene writings... his theology would do a somersault.
@droptozro Somehow I don't think any of the ante-Nicene writings would affect any true Christian's theology too much. If one did, that's a good way to know it's not to be trusted (in that it doesn't agree with the canonical Bible).
@fizzkick I see your point. However, it stands to reason that if we believe we have the canon of Scripture that it must be complete, doesn't it? Otherwise we can not call it "canon," can we? The Apocrypha was thrown out because out does not agree with the accepted, inspired canon we currently possess, wasn't it? I think these arguments should prove worthy opposition for the one you proposed.
@bluishspitdoggie it is not 'my' argument, as I tried to make it clear it's one that I have heard skeptics use and one that I don't find easy to dismiss. I don't think the argument that the established Bible as it exists today should be considered complete by virtue of the fact that we call it ''canon'' is a good one. Anyway its not an issue that will be resolved here but for the record I do believe in the Bible.
This argument does not refute the other claim that detractors may make and that is books from the original cannon were taken out and the Bible we have today is incomplete.
This video is incorrect. Scholars can demostrate the things stated in this video are incorrect. Don't believe the hype.

YouAreNotAMonkey 1 month ago
The gospel was foretold and preached under the Old Testament. The knowledge of the glory of God is by the gospel and is the power of God to salvation. The gospel is glorious, everlasting, and was preached by Christ. The doctrines of the gospel are from God, are taught by scripture, are godly, and lead to holiness and fellowship with the Father and with the Son.
Those who oppose are proud, ignorant, doting about questions and to be avoided.
I will delight myself in Your statutes.

@joeforhistruth Do u have a perfect Bible?
Springs24 1 month ago
@Springs24
there is no perfect bible friend. give up the search/grasp. God bless
droptozro 1 month ago
@droptozro
"hell" =/= "lake of fire"
Your assumptions are simply wrong. Just because it doesn't fit with what you think, that doesn't make it right to change what God said.
greyspot00 1 month ago
@greyspot00
KJV mistranslated Acts 2:27-31, Rev 20:13-14
droptozro 1 month ago
@droptozro
It was translated fine. Because you want to use another word doesn't make it wrong. Hell/hades/whatever you want to call it, will be cast into the Lake of Fire, which burns with fire and brimstone.
greyspot00 1 month ago
@greyspot00
If you don't believe me, then why does the "2000 KJV" properly fix these verses? Because it's right.
droptozro 1 month ago
@droptozro
Because it needed to "fix" a lot of things that weren't broken.
That statement is silly. "Why does the NIV/ESV/NASV/etc change it if it wasn't wrong?"
I believe God could do it on His first try, and He doesn't need a bunch of Laodicean, politically-correct, "scholars" to fix His mistakes.

@greyspot00 U fellas are silly. The word "hades" is not in the bible. Webster's 1828 (THE standard for defining words in the KJV) states definition for "hell" # 8) A dungeon or prison. (which handily explains 1 Pet 3:19) Hell is a generic term. Y'all should google and study the Clarence Larkin charts. They readily and visually explain much that is misunderstood by Christians. Those charts also would settle your argument....that is if you both are open to teaching.

@droptozro If everything New was right you should then believe in evolution and global warming and that homosexuality is somthing people aer born with. look at the changes to websters dictionary it use to say what a unicorn was a rinousouris, but it has been edited they took that out and put the mythical creature only hummm.

That is really an over the top exaggeration of this issue. It's true that the NIV is not word for word as accurate to the original languages as are the NAS or the KJV, but the truth of God's message still comes clearly through. People use different versions for different purposes. It's not completely worthless as a Bible.

Except when it is wrong. Like where it records two different deaths for Judas called Iscariot, and so on and so on.

@ShownMercy KJV is from the Antioch line...
The NIV (Not Inspired Version) and all the other "bibles" come from Alexandria (Egypt - type of the world)
Besides the obvious fact that they add/remove verses and words...
Springs24 1 month ago
@Springs24 "The NIV (Not Inspired Version) ..."
It's no less inspired just because it's a different translation.
SpeakaDaEnglish 1 month ago
@SpeakaDaEnglish truth be told i used to read NIV until i compared scripture by scripture and found that over 64,000 (yes 3 zeros) words were taken out. I was shocked when reading the NKJV and KJV along with my NIV to find that entire verses were omitted. It is not a good bible if it is considered one at all. Maybe one that could be used to more easily understand KJV, but not one I would study and memorize from.
unprofitableservant4 1 month ago
@unprofitableservant4 Just because the King James is more superfluous doesn't mean it's a better traslation. The reason it is that way is because it's translated from the Heb/Greek to the Latin and then to the English, whereas the NIV and the NAS are traslated directly from the Heb/Greek to English. It's a matter of preference really, and there is nothing wrong with using a KJV, but in terms of accuracy for study purposes, the others are probably better. I like to use all three.

@cornerstonepress If our deaths are required to prove your claim, then your claim is vapid piffle.
jwissick 1 month ago

@JMcH It's an appeal to tradition and therefore a logical fallacy. Derp!
jwissick 1 month ago
@jwissick - No, James. You're the one with the logical fallacies. The earliest attributions to the Gospels -- made within one generation of when they were written -- were never in question at the time you think they were named. It's got nothing to do with appealing to tradition and everything to do with people passing down known facts.

@WilliamTyndale1 Jan doesnt discount the scriptures. Someone should send this to Todd again... I've heard him completely twist the rich young man and Jesus passage. Many pastors are ignoring Jesus' words and they really don't understand a lot because of twisting Pauls letters and not looking at what Paul quoted in the OT context.
droptozro 1 month ago
Yeah the early church did believe other books though and debated their authenticity. Minor books and issues for most though. Wish Todd would take more time to study the ante nicene writings... his theology would do a somersault.

@droptozro Somehow I don't think any of the ante-Nicene writings would affect any true Christian's theology too much. If one did, that's a good way to know it's not to be trusted (in that it doesn't agree with the canonical Bible).

WilliamTyndale1 1 month ago
@fizzkick I see your point. However, it stands to reason that if we believe we have the canon of Scripture that it must be complete, doesn't it? Otherwise we can not call it "canon," can we? The Apocrypha was thrown out because out does not agree with the accepted, inspired canon we currently possess, wasn't it? I think these arguments should prove worthy opposition for the one you proposed.
bluishspitdoggie 1 month ago
@bluishspitdoggie it is not 'my' argument, as I tried to make it clear it's one that I have heard skeptics use and one that I don't find easy to dismiss. I don't think the argument that the established Bible as it exists today should be considered complete by virtue of the fact that we call it ''canon'' is a good one. Anyway its not an issue that will be resolved here but for the record I do believe in the Bible.

The Ante-Nicene Fathers had and used all the New Testament books.

This argument does not refute the other claim that detractors may make and that is books from the original cannon were taken out and the Bible we have today is incomplete.
