This is funny because I was just watching another YouTube video of Elton John at a concert (not his) and he was signing autographs left and right for anybody who wanted one. He was even signing people's hands.

ive seen a couple vids already depicting famous people like jerks. i saw peter cetera, phil collins, elton john. ok. now think about it. have you logged on to ebay and seen what they do to the autographs. i collect autographs, but i get them signed in person, have them personalize it for me, and i post them on my wall, never to be sold. they know what they are going to do with that signed pic. they are not real fans. and its hard to distinguish whos real or whos trying to make a buck.

Whilst I understand why this has become big business for some people, it pisses me off when you've waited at a stage door or a hotel for someone only to have guys like this appear 30 minutes before like clockwork and then bumrush the show, leaving the real fans out in the cold.

I don't bother anymore after being burnt that way twice. It's a waste of time now. Different era.

you cant blame elton for this one this time.he was gonna take part at a big live tv show and he was gonna perform host whatever .he was very tired from his trip he was anxious and a bit nervous all the actors and singers the big or not the big ones feel a little nervous before they appear on stage.so the last thing you do when you walk out the door heading to the car is to sign autographs.

@pianofan2001 George Michael is another pratt.... I don't deny they write excellent music...I just don't like the status they give themselves. Elton seems to link himself to any new artist who appears to be the current trend....he said himself in an interview last night that to be more creative he needs to return to his old roots.

As for charity work....one should never bleat about what charity he raises for..it should be a personal thing. You assume to much..I'm also gay...just not a fat one.

What if you were trying to shop or go get in your car and people knew you work at a bakery and were surrounding you like..."Can you tell me what kind of yeast to use? i've seen him signing a lot in other youtube pages. i also know a guy from my country who were doin' some job in a Four Seasons Hotel in D.C. in the late eighties and he told me that Elton signed to him an autograph very fine person.

A couple weeks ago I finally had a chance to get Elton's autograph. I am 22 and have been a fan for more than half of my life. I spent a lot of time, money and energy to get to where I know he'd be - twice. The second time I was right there with a record album of his last album, "The Captain and the Kid," and there were only about four people. I was the only FAN. He just kept walking. No, he was not obligated to stop and sign. That doesn't change the fact that I haven't listened to him since.
