of all the musicians that passed, I think I miss Jeff the most. His music can't be categorized into anything, and his voice isn't of this world. He truly was a gift from above.
Think your local FM station is so great? Yea you find songs and artists like this and you realize how LAME and pathetic local FM radio is...Buckley is fantastic and you will never hear him on the radio
@Kellyolson I used to beat myself up over the fact that I could have seen him live had I only known. But it doesn't work like that. You find him when the time is right. At least you found him!
@imkeylime Thank you, and you are so right, at least I found him. As to seeing him live, we just never know. But we can't go back, thanks to YouTube, we get a second chance, sort of.
Gone way too soon.. Most artist aren't at peak until the third or fourth album. Could you imagine what other brilliant blessings of writings he would have possibly left the world with if he had just a little more time? Him going was one of the most tragic things to happen in music and not enough people even know of it or of him. I sort of like the part that not many know of him it keeps it more personal to me I guess. This song and his work may have possibly saved my life a few times.
If your not a Jeff Buckley fan then why come in the first place. Go somewhere else and dislike something with no meaning, because Jeff & his music has more meaning & has touched more people than you will ever know.........you are truly missed ............
@Talulah6 This man made no mistakes. Goddd.... none. Ever. I wish I believed in Heaven... it would be good to feel like I know for sure that this voice is there.
@jbwooten89 He made mistakes like everyone else and Jeff Buckley is in Heaven. He wasn't like the rest of us because he was truly a genius and sweet and original, but he was human. My point is how he corrected and soared and wasn't thrown.
If you like Jeff Buckley please read, "A pure drop" by Jeff Apter. I think someone asked who was Joan as Police Woman, her name is Joan Wasser and she was a violinist he had dated. He cared for her deeply. In alot of ways they were both alike, spontaneous and at times impulsive. They both seemed to always live in the moment. How often do we do the same thing? I love this song...
I found him alittle too late..but I found him ln my own...to this day he is my savior when i think everything is too much or just plain is worth crying over...thank you Jeff u are my saviour in this odious world..
The most amazing thing about Jeff playing live (you can see it in this vid, but maybe you can only recognise it if you have been in the same room as him performing) is that he will be there, with the crowd and then he is just gone, disappears inside the song and inhabits it, and if you are paying attention, you can go with him.
It's crazy he sings like a person whose heart had been broken or would be broken his whole life. Who writes lyrics like this anymore? It's all about bling, money and screwing as many women as you can! No longer are there artists like him, strong but vunerable; Simon or Dylan. Just dudes with 5 billion tattoos, pants hung over their ankles and a gun in their back pants. And John Mayer doesn't count cuz a real MAN never kisses and tells!!!!!!......
Goosebumps after every line he sings. I can't even describe with words what kind of amazing impact his music, his voice has on me. He is incredible. RIP Jeff Buckley.
i miss this era of music. the music was center stage, it wasn't about the look, the face, the image. it was about just not giving a you know what about anything but the music.

@0LittlemissLola How dare you compare Jeff to that amateur . Jeff was one of the best singers of all time who could sing anything. Robert Pattinson doesn't even compare he just mumbles and moans.
What a sad loss of such a beautiful soul / and man / he is the most romantic singer / I just melt looking at him and listening to that amazing beautiful voice // jeff/ I miss your sweet face and your beauty / but your music lives on in the hearts and souls of those who love you!
Not many songs make me fight back tears but this is one of them, I don't even have to be feeling empathy either, just the pure humanity of it, it is so real (pardon the pun). Suzanne by Leonard Cohen is another one that does it for me

Jeff was so not your traditional do it this way rocker, he was in a genre completely his own and he had a complete unique way of expressing that to his audience, friends, family and his bandmates. No one could do it the way he did it not even the greatest muscians, songwriters and the like. Of twelve billion people that ever lived on this planet he was the greatest that ever sang a song.

The Transformation of Orpheus
O cruel river, lift him up! Do not drown, don't snuff this one's fire...
transform this gentle Orpheus into living light that joyful heals all our hearts!
Did he reach for musical notes in that Mississippi sun
and fall short in the eddies of derangement and confusion?
Too good to live? Again? How many magic-men of song
Ripped away by jealous devils, in deaths so wrong?
Ah, but he transforms, changes light itself
His soul freed in darkened river-stealth...
