The phenomena of projection is based on unacknowledged and/or denied psychological content which the person, unable to come to grips with the darkness within themselves, see it outside of themselves. The person is convinced that their perception is correct because the content does in fact exist; it's just not out there. Forgiveness of all concerned is requisite.
