However, who amongst the Miners was skilled to set up the tv cameras etc in the cave & how did they know to have them facing in direction of where capsule came through roof of cave?? Unless these were set up after the hole had been drilled. At one point a computer monitor image was flashed up during the rescue - what was that about? I have more questions than answers... Also why has the President given the first message up from a miner to David Cameron -such a keepsake should be kept Chile?

@Reiki1sue they had contact with people on the surface. Cameras can be moved but that doesnt matter because they would have faced it at where the pilot hole was drilled through the roof so that they could see it when the actual drill came through.

Whilst i don't doubt the miners really were stuck underground, i can't help but have an uneasy feeling that somethings aren't as they appear. Could the whole disaster have been rigged (either with the miners consent or without it)?

@Reiki1sue I don't think it was rigged - think of the terrible publicity for the mining company if they'd all died, which would have been a likely outcome. I think the company just has some very, very good PR people that have made them look really good. (I don't mean that to sound as cynical as it did - mining accidents do happen, as far as I know it wasn't due to negligence or malpractice on the part of the company0

There also seemed to be a small cupboard on the rock wall - were they in a shelter where they store things?

@Reiki1sue Yes, they were in a refuge, a place especially built and equipped for a case of emergency where they stored food. Once they realized they were trapped they all got together and went there. And of course there wasn't enough food for 33 people for 17 days, they were starving, but it takes more that 17 days for a person to die of hunger. They had natural running water and air, so they could resist.

Part 2 of my response: What also occured on the planet at the time that every news channel took 24 hours of almost solid air time to report the rescue - sky news for example barely mentioned any other news during that rescue period! I wonder what news items were sneeked in under this distraction and what may have happened that may never see light of day! Was anything covered up during this period... i do think there was something strange in this whole saga....

Don't take me wrong, I don't believe they are actors or anything like that (for example here in Chile some people are saying that they could have rescued them before but they prolongued the operation to make it more mediatic...
