That sounds so lovely! I'm intrigued by the name of your harp. As far as I know, Nehalennnia is a name for the Celtic goddess of the sea, of the Celts who lived in Dutch Zeeland (the land of my forefathers as it happens!)
Do you know the English title for this song? In Norwegian it's "Gje meg handa di, ven, når det kveldar" meaning "Give me your hand, friend, when closing up on sunset" - freely translated. :)
This is the only title I know for this song, though I have heard it once called "I Will Go With My Father" on a CD. Other variations in this title I know is simply "The Sally Gardens."
wow...

Just beautiful, Melissa! I play a number of instruments and am thinking of taking up Celtic harp. Q: Do you teach? and Q: Where do you live?
Budsavoie 3 years ago
1) No, I don't teach and my favorite teacher retired do to MS. :(
2) I live in the Pacific Northwest :)

It was down by the Sally Gardens, my love and I did meet.
She crossed the Sally Gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree,
But I was young and foolish, and with her did not agree.
In a field down by the river, my love and I did stand
And on my leaning shoulder, she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy , as the grass grows on the weirs
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.
