I have a question to ask that is I saw upma recepie . U used urad dal also. Is it necessary to use urad dal in making upma? Can we make upma without using urad dal , adding only chana dal ?
you don't understand how much i love this recipe! my mom thinks im crazy because i ask her to make this at least 3 times a week and she makes enough for 2 days just for me! yes i am that obsessed hehe! i actually learned how to make it myself now too! :) thank youuuuu.
you indians have such interesting recipes.. im starting to fall in love with indian food after watching these videos even though i don't know how this food tastes :) but it sure looks tasty to me
Your presentation is fantastic and having forgotten curry leaves happens just due to the excitement of explaining it to us. However, could you please enlighten us as to which sequence of the cooking should it be added so that the optimal flavor of that wonderful leaves can be absorbed to the fullest extend? Thanks!
u both r awesome, talented and gorgious girls............urs receipes r always nice...............by d way i want 2 know that from where u got these beautiful spatulas used in cooking..........plz reply soon?
Good show. The 2 pretty girls are requested to speak a bit slow. It is hard to understand otherwise. I think one could add some cabbage to upma and this is optional.
I have made this dish three times in the last week. I have now added kali mirch and methi seeds to the last two batches. This food combination really gives a you a charged energetic feeling. Are there other recipes that provide similar metabolic rushes?
@ShowMeTheCurry : I finally saved the day by Quickly getting another frying Pan and putting some Oil and Mustard seeds and the Curry Leaves and then adding later. Love your Dish and Initiative
Semolina is Suji! Indian Stores carry 2 varieties of semolina - the corse and the fine. The Semilina in regular grocery stores is the fine type and does not work for this particular dish and like you said 'gets pasty'.
Curry Patta is also available at Indian/South Asian Grocery stores...you can also buy the plant ;)
For the Paneer - check out our website or our youtube channel, we have a video on how to make it at home.
I must congratulate you on the technical quality of your videos good titling very good editing nice photography. Hope to see a DVD with all your recipes soon well done.
Have not taste Indian food in my life but would love to try some of the recipes you have here on YT. Although there are some ingredients I am not familiar with. Guess I would have to find an Indian market to find out huh..duh! 5/5

@joshibiz compaired to alot of Indian cooking it DEFIANTLY is. LOL My husband is from Chennai and Im doing my best to learn to cook the way he likes. As an Irish American .. I can tell you... Indian food is FAR more complex than anything in America but all that preperation and stages makes a HUGE diffrence in flavor. I will never look at american food the same way again. Blah.
I haven't eaten much indian food, but I must say that it ALL looks delicious! I can't wait to find an indian grocery! Before I met mu husband I dated an indian man, but he didn't eat much indian food around me! He did buy me some henna powder though! :) I love henna!
speculation....

@jaytee184 : The Curry leaves go into the oil, right before or after the Dry Red Chilli and flavor the oil which in turn flavors the whole dish.

the upma i set out to make has now turned into a completely new possibility; but being a smoker i do not mind some extra carbon in my food.
