Zakk plays the same 7-8 licks all the time and that's it. I've seen at least a hundred Zakk videos, and again,....only 7 or 8 licks. He plays them very well, but damn, you should be able to play those well if that's all you do.
It's just amazing how he delivers such a definative signature style and attack all his own. NOBODY can imitate fully what he does. His guitar work will be studied and analyzed decades beyond our lifetime. He IS a living national treasure and a gift to the world. Damn dat boy is good!!!!

@ddi338 I've never heard anyone say that! Bollocks! LOL. I've always been impressed by Zakk's ability to play so fast and still sound so clean. Speed+accuracy is not an easy thing to master. I could listen to him play pentatonic scales ALL DAY long.

@bmario900 Well, for starters, it is a released teaching video which is accompanied by a booklet which you obviously don't have, being that you have to watch in on youtube lol. The tabs'll be on the booklet.
playing with your eyes closed forward and backward, working your pentas and arpeggios and whatnot forward and backwards until you can play with out thinking and practicing all of these with hybrid/sweep picking and/ or double picking as an exercise and working from slow to fast and not speeding up until every note is completely clear will assure the clean and defined notes that you hear on this video. Once you know these most important scales,your speed will come with time/daily practice.

This should be called Zakk Wylde Pentatonic Guitar Wailing...because it is simply amazing how fast and clear he can play...but if you can pick up anything from watching this you would be teaching not learning.
P.S. I love that sound he gives Ozzy...Randy would be proud.

playing with your eyes closed forward and backward, working your pentas and arpeggios and whatnot forward and backwards until you can play with out thinking and practicing all of these with hybrid/sweep picking and/ or double picking as an exercise and working from slow to fast and not speeding up until every note is completely clear will assure the clean and defined notes that you hear on this video. Once you know these most important scales,your speed will come with time/daily practice.

In addition to Zakk not making music and being a show off, he is completely void of soul and emotion. I wonder why I get a rush and teary eyed when I watch him play the SSB when I'm not even American or patriotic or even agree with his view on politics? I guess it must all the Nerds I eat for lunch and that I'm a Dude of a Rocker just like him.

This should be called Zakk Wylde Pentatonic Guitar Wailing...because it is simply amazing how fast and clear he can play...but if you can pick up anything from watching this you would be teaching not learning.
P.S. I love that sound he gives Ozzy...Randy would be proud.

In the beginning zakk is doing alot of quick hybrid picking with some sweet blues scales, its not to hard to do, but really hard to get it to sound perfect like him, Practice makes perfect!
