  • eek ... bad voice

  • I´m yelaous of you Pete, i want to roll with Garcia to, but i´d rather do it with the GI on. Good commentating, humble and nice. You are no Joe Rogan, but on tje other side, who wants to.... (except his salary)

  • Really amazing, can I ask you a question? an open one, so please all can answer it if they like:) The very basic things you need to learn to get a good game, a good ground to keep on building from. Which will they be?

Thank you, anything would really help.

  • 'When he sinks that guillotine, there's no getting out of it." -gets out of it. ;) 3:55

  • @PitchfeverAcademy Hey dude, they arre just rollin. He could have submitted "Pete" in 20 seconds, but he´s playing with him in a gentle and smooth way. Marcelo wouldn´t gain anything by submittin him right away and neither would Pete...

  • awesome clip. thanks for posting.

  • one of the best rolls i've ever seen

  • i think the what ur trying to say is hes soo dam sensitive that he can feel whan kind of force ur giving him and read i like an open book

  • It was a spiritual roll. Thanks for posting friend....

  • dude, i'm going to say that you did a pretty nice job of rolling with a world champ!

  • awwwwwwwwesome!

  • Very beautiful to watch. Thanks for posting.

  • Can you guys make a tutorial on the telephone armbar?

  • Impressive guy Marcelo Garcia!! Awesome movement!

    Thanks for the upload!!

  • i would love soo much to see marcelo roll with eddie bravo

  • "when he sinks that guillotine there is no getting out of it".... and got out of it just right there

  • @SandmanJAAE That is because marcelo let him out, hes not trying to destory him, he is moving around feeling out how he fights. Its the difference between training and competition.

  • @SandmanJAAE he didnt sink it in... he wasn't in the guillotine yet.

  • Ohhhhhhh you got your ass handed to you BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !! Marcelo Domination continues !!

  • that triangle at 7:25 is like my favorite part. I had to re-watch it about 5 times.

  • Thanks pete for uploading this but I will admit for a black belt you seem to be a bit intimidated, but I don't blame you. lol

  • @DARQMX purple belt when we shot this video ;-)

  • @bjjweekly He's so fluid and relaxed in his movements! Amazing.

  • @DARQMX Didn't look intimidated to me. Did pretty good, considering.

  • very good video...

  • Like poetry in motion

  • Super video with very nice commentary!

    Thanks 4 this!

  • Thanks for the video and narration.

  • 1:18 ouch, doesnt that hurt your knee at all?

  • I really like his silky movements This is some highclass Bjj !

  • A nice instruction. Marcelo could destroy at anytime, but it's very useful to see him walk through it.

  • Wow everything from his awareness to his control are just spot on. Amazing to watch. I love how he constantly attacks the base and never let the brownbelt establish anything.

  • This was amazing to watch.

  • what is that submission with one arm when he is in north south position? that looks sick

  • @dennisli828 It's just a one armed "north south" choke

  • Marcelo is the Master!! Hope to one day meet em

  • Excellent rolling & commentary!

  • nice pete

  • Love the video and the break down commentary. Keep it coming.

  • 9:30

  • What's the pass you try to use all the time (where you turn your knee in and pass in almost reverse/bacward)? Seems like a good pass, any name on it?

  • marcelo looks strong for a little guy

  • What's Pete's training background/belt level?

  • @RASHskins brown belt under Aaron Blake & Andre Dedeco Almeida

  • Everyone who tries to get thumbs up saying someone farted on training, it means they have never been on the mat.

  • thank you for this video i got a chance to roll with marcelo and just felt like he knew everything i was doing before i even think about it i can't wait to go back

  • Narration was awesome. Very educational to all novice and experience Jiu Jitsu enthusiast.

  • This was great I wouldnt have watched if you wasent explaining the roll Great stuff.

  • at 7.50, that was crazy.

  • This was very informative. Well done.

  • Great video and narrating, but it would be much better if you would spit out your gum!

  • do one with roger and eddie bravo

  • what's the name of the armlock in 6:46?, nice video!

  • @pabloboloman I call it the "telephone armbar". It is always there when someone tries to grab your head.

  • @ORIGINBJJ what's the name of that sweep u kept attempting where u go under his legs, of course it's hard to do on Marcelo lol but it looks awesome still

  • @DJPalace88 it's just a deep half sweep. It's a move I usually get with the gi on, the grips are a bit different. Marcelo was privy to it though.

  • that pass pete likes to use with the leg up the middle and u spin around and sit is one of my favorite passes

  • the pass at 9.33 was legendary!!!!!

  • nice video

  • thank you so much for posting this video. your comments are also very good. someday, i am also going to train with marcelo. abraço.

  • dude you did really well, I'm surprise. Marcelo in another level, but did alright man

  • This is siiiiiick

  • Always helpful. Thank you

  • Thanks for the post. As a beginner in BJJ the narative was informative.

  • Will you guys do an interview with Joshua Waitzkin one of Marcelo Garcia's students and former Chess Champion and Tai Chi Push Hands Champ?

  • SIck as triangle mad roll man! enjoyed it!

  • good stuff i just found your page here. although next time you commentate, try not to eat a ham sandwich next time you are talking on the mic lol.

  • HI Pete, first off... very nice videos, great explanations of the techniques and whats going on during the roll... We subscribed to you guys.. only thing i would say that i found a LITTLE annoying, lol was the chewing gum you were chewing while talking...its just one of those little things but that's not jits related.. lol...but you guys are doing an awesome job.. OSU.

  • @Grapplersplanetcom...It annoys me too. I was chewing gum during the roll with marcelo, I always chew gum when rolling because it helps me keep a breathing rhythm (weird I know). Normally I would have recorded this in the studio but marcelo sat down next to me and asked if I could record it right after. Totally forgot to spit the gum out with the nerves of marcelo sitting over my shoulder listening to me....glad you enjoyed it.

  • @ORIGINBJJ yah brother.. no biggie it is all cool my man... u roll awesome btw... MG is a beast in action xD had to say it.. • 7:27.. wow

  • can you please show us the telephone armbar??

  • The commentary was excellent. I wish more vids were like this. Great job.

  • @Twitchy75...we have a bunch of vids like this, check out out site bjjweeklyDOTcom

  • Amazing video. Yeah you could just see how effortlessly his legs moved. It's like his lower body was controlled by a demon! Also his grib.. He kept holding on to petes elbow, a lot of the time.

  • Very nice work. "Movement is still the big secret in jiu jitsu." +100 for that!

  • Great job on the narrating and the rolling! You come across and chill, humble and a student with a love for the game. I can't wait to visit Marcelo and see what this invisible game is about. Thanks plenty!

  • This is just....amazing. Thank you so much for making this, and thanks to Marcelo for agreeing to it!

  • I see Josh Waitzkin in the backround. I LOVE the art of learning!!

  • The "50/50 with the opposite leg" you reference is Marcelo's one-legged X-guard. Lots of cool sweeps from there!

  • Great video with great commentary! Try not chewing gum next time though :-)

  • @jaymac0512 I know man. I recorded it right after rolling with marcelo and I chew gum when I roll. For some reason it keeps my breathing under control...forgot to spit it out...oops...

  • It's amazing just to watch Marcelo roll.

  • Pete, you have the best job in the world.

  • @ddobie1979...bro, I thank God for it every day!

  • that pass @ 9.32... UNBELIEVABLE O_O

  • Awesome video, I think Marcelo's rash guard could kick my ass.

  • Awesome video, I think Marcelo's rash guard could kick my ass.

  • great commentary

  • Will there be a version with Marcelo Garcia narrating? That would be awesome

  • @PaulrusK2 We will have a video with Marcelo narrating a roll he did with one of his blackbelts in a future issue - stay tuned!

  • @PaulrusK2 We will be publishing a roll of Marcelo and one of his blackbelts in a future issue that Marcelo narrated for us - stay tuned!

  • @bjjweekly when will you release that video??

  • Haha, just noticed that Marcelo Rape Chokes you at 5:57.

  • I had to watch this video 20 times to catch all of the moves that Marcelo was doing.

  • The very last burst before you guys quit looked like it was choreographed - that's how perfect Marcelo's movement was to pass guard.

I noticed how he rode the hips with the feet most times. Those two points of contact seemed very important to determining where the action was going to happen next.

  • the pass-guard invert-pass at 9:30 was SLICK.

  • Great stuff Pete. Thx for posting

  • Good stuff, Pete. Well done.

  • Good job rolling with technique cause you are obviously a big strong guy.

  • hey pete im pretty sure that version of his 50/50 was just one legged x guard aka anaconda guard

  • @fnfcarrero ohhhh got ya, thanks for the clarification.I have been working it since I had it done to me and it works slick.

    - Pete

  • Hey you looked better with Marcelo than Andre Arvloski did!

  • Hey guys, sorry the audio is a little weak on this. We recorded it on location because Marcelo wanted to listen in. Enjoy.

    - Pete
