Lisa's crescendo in this verion is indescribable... completely orgasmic. Sounds like the version in Live Licks... probably the same, right?!
This and Sympathy for the Devil are two of the best songs ever.
Jokes about Stones's oldness managed to get older then the band itself and in much less time. It's fashionable for bands to bitch about "not wanting to go on forever, you know, like the Rolling Stones". Well, guess what?! You would never, even if you tried... (hear that, Robert Plant?!)
I dare anybody to sit still while listening to this,it's impossible;you simply have to get up and move the groove is fine. They are the greatest rock and roll band ever.Keith is one cool dude.
The Stones are something else.I only seen then once. The 1980 TatooYou Tour. And on the way there with my freinds I remember bitching about how The Stones are old and why couldnt we of seen them in '69 or '72 or '75 or something.Well that turned out to be a big great tour,Then 9yrs later in 1990,Steel Wheels tour,They were freakin great. And then 2005 Four Licks tour they played rare stuff they hadn't ever played live. 25yrs after I seen them, and they still rock. You get better in your craft!!
@sspitcher1513 they make me puke, they should be playing cards in a park or that thing with black and white squares instead of making a fool out of themselves.
@nin12dog am I a rock legend? you got that right boy; yes I am; maybe not but I will, maybe. You know what? I don't like to travel in planes, accidents, hijacker. Maybe I will be a local star only. No traveling.
I remember the 1989 Steel Wheels Tour people were saying The Stones might be too old (for real this time) to pull it off in their late 40s.Not only did they do a vital, kick-ass tour then-----here they are again 15 years later in 2003 and they still rock like nobody else. And sound great.
this is, hands down, my favorite rock and roll song of all time, and the stones just get better with time, these guys are the definition of "Rockstars".
@msglimmertwin52 : Well I'm definitely not going to dispute the obvious being that in my opinion the Rolling Stones are not only the definition of mere 'rockstars,' but also the epitome and embodiment of Rock and Roll itself!
In case you were sleeping since 1987, that voice is the one and only Grammy winning Lisa Fischer. Check her out on the 1989 tour.......an credible beauty. She is still active....
This is from the 1997-1998 Bridges to Babylon tour. Lisa has been with the Stones for some years and is by far, in my opinion, the best sultry, sensual back up singer I have ever heard. She just oozes sexuality in her passionate powerful voice. There is a DVD of this tour that is played in Miami and if you liked Lisa here, she is even better there. I will upload that one.
she's GREAT! But she's even onstage is because....These are the ROLLING STONES - World's Greatest R & Band, without a doubt - Mick J is a phenomenon....
Just a bunch of old zombies looking like they belong in a museum sealed up saying don't open at all....they are so bad now that Missoula MT didn't want them to come for a concert...they only sold 397 tickets...LOL!
