  • SONIC RAINBOOM

  • Faggett. I can't see the vid

  • i run faster than this.

  • So badass...

  • i thought it will be faster...

  • Your the one talking bout chucks Norris's dick

  • Needs rainbows.

  • When i was on vacation i was outside an arcade and i feld the game i was leaning on rock and a huge boom and people said it was the sound barrier. They did it like 3 time that week

  • somebody tell us .. what does the pilot hear in the cockpit?

  • @samer737 nothing, because it flows behind him

  • @samer737 Everything in the cockpit is moving at the same speed as the plane, and so he himself is moving 0mph faster then everything going on inside the cockpit, including the plane, therefore he can hear everything involving the plane+himself in the cockpit.

  • @samer737 nothing

  • Double sonic boom, nice.

  • F-18 is a great machine

  • wow!!!!

  • that was awsome!

  • Finally - an honest-to-God super-sonic vid!

  • @2ndarymotion agreed

  • hahaha so awesome, I wish I could experience that

  • keep pressing 6 and you'll hear an orgasm and then the sonic boom

BTW it has to be an awesome feeling being inside that plane

  • @pichardo25 Funny thing is that you don't really notice much when you go Supersonic... You just see your Mach indicator ("M x.x) go from 0.9x to 1.00. The only real change is that there is much less noise from the outside.

  • gran puta que buenoo!! :D

  • dragon ball Z XD

  • I think they have some new technology that won't break the sound barrier on their new flying vehicles, some kind of electrical system that makes the front edge of the plane positively charged, like a capacitor. Electromagnetic pulse or something like that. If you can't hear it, you won't see it. And the speed is classified. I heard it's called Aurora.

  • @rs3739 Oh, BTW,

Great video showing an actual jet plane doing sonic flight.

    boom boom, yeah....

  • Its neither 850mph nor 850kn.

That would be ~Mach 1.3, impossible for the F-18 at sea level.

Could be just about Mach 1 though if its out in the sea, still transonic not supersonic, which also confirmed by the vapor cone.

  • @Buuub08 No im pretty sure it was supersonic.

  • humno it is not 850 mph....it is 850 knots !!!

  • fehg

  • Chuck Norris can break the sound barrier....WITH HIS FISTS!

  • @Arkenarge Well, I can break it with my dick so beat that!

  • @12doogy Chuck Norris did that while coming out of his mother's fetus.

  • @Arkenarge No he can't, he does it with his kicks

  • @SilverTheVampireKing he can easily do it with any part of his body, even his dick

  • @Arkenarge not really.

  • @cky12qxz yes really

  • @Arkenarge Chuck is a bad man

  • @Arkenarge nah... not really

  • @Arkenarge Fuck You!

  • @Redmondkid91 tsk tsk, still acting like a child?

  • @Arkenarge Actually! If you'd get one of those whips they use on the circus you could break it yourself!

  • wtf no chuck noris comment on highest rated? what is this

  • lol the speed of sound was all late

  • Hot damn! That's a fucking beautiful sound. The thump and the roar. Music to my ears

  • Hot damn! That's a fucking beautiful sound. The thump and the roar. Music to my ears

  • imagine, 20 years from now how fast a jet can fly, they just created something too fast to handle that caused a new discovery of what sound can withstand

  • @Kyuubiwar what exactly are you talking about,i'm interested.

  • @t5239857289578947594 im saying about the future jets 20 years from now if we have supersonic now, imagine 20 years later with hypersonic then we discovered sound as weapon lol

  • @Kyuubiwar Got me thinking about what they got right now that is top secret.

  • @Kyuubiwar 40 years ago, commercial airliner was build that could go over mach 2. 30 years ago it took civil aviation from 600mph to 1350mph. It was 60 years (give or take) after Wright brothers made their 1st flight. Now, 30 years after civil aviation was able to fly over mach 2, fastest aircrafts can´t break sound barrier anymore. Also SR-71 Blackbird is 40 year old military jet that was flying mach 3, I´m not sure anymore, but I think that it´s still one of the few mach 3 planes now.

  • BAAA BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

    AMERICA FUCK YEAHHH

  • YEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • K.O.!!!

  • Fighter Jet says to the air "get the fuck outta ma way biatch" amazing shot Love it!

  • Now that's what I was looking for :D Good quality, nice vapor around (i'ts part of the show :b) but ofcourse the BOOM! Awesome video!

  • Pff, that's nothing, chuck norris does light speed

  • VTEC KICKED IN YOOOO

  • wow that fast i cant hear :(

  • BADASS

  • B-E-A-UITIFUL!!!! I always love listening to sonic booms!

  • my grandmother goes faster then that with her motorized scooter

  • Was that actual boom louder than in the video? I was at an airshow, but they weren't allowed to fly supersonic, so the only sound I know is something like that "wooosh" right after the boom in this video... And the boom itself doesn't seem to be much louder (though I believe it is)... Could you give me any comparison?

  • Now the sound barrier is broken :( poor barrier...

Anyways, by far the best sonic boom I've heard.

  • imagine what breaking the speed of light must look like

  • @RealNugget Well, better than angela merkel XD

  • Haulin' Ass!!!!

  • i can be faster than that when i ride my bicycle...^^

  • this is a real sound barrier?

  • my boyfriend: "that sounds like when i go to the bathroom"

  • sound barrier is 1100 km/h

  • i came

  • And that kids, is why the Maverick Maneuver (performing a close flyby the control tower) is prohibited. May cause severely temporary hearing loss, balance and embarrassment at spilling your own hot beverage.

  • @Namord You can actually pee on your self by standing close to a sonic boom?

  • @eimaibazo:

Umm, not sure about that one, Comrade. What I mean by hot beverage was any hot drink (coffee, tea, chocolate).

  • it would be fun to pilot one :D too bad u can't hear it in the cockpit though..

  • My Uncle Was In taht Carrier

  • Thats fucking qualty m8

  • u told me to turn it up and i fregin almost had a heart attack dam

  • wont that pop your ear drum?

  • YEA THATS WHAT I LIKE

  • fucking amazing

i couldnt hear shit until the bang!

  • @stevenconnell681

lol, that's why its faster than sound...

  • i so wanna be in that cockpit...

  • @Jamminerick me too!

  • @Jamminerick I wanna be strapped to the tail!!!

  • @Jamminerick you cant hear shit in the cockpit as you are faster than sound ^^

  • lol.. i jumped

  • tht sounds fuckin bad ass

  • BADASS!

  • its crazy in person cuz when you see it, it don't look like they moving that fast. then the sound comes after they past by with a boom.

  • My god people get it right you can only see the vapour cloud before it breaks the sound barrier after Mach 1.0 you dont see any vapour at all

The best way to tell if a plane is going faster than the speed of sound is if you can see it but can't hear it then when it passes you, you then hear the sound barrier boom My source: Wikipedia

  • @cono2627 Correct. Hence this plane has just broken the sound barrier while it passed the next to the platform. You can tell by the vapour cloud, the pattern on the sea surface and of course the booming sound that could be heard only when the plane was next to the croud. Its moving speed was around 330m/s during the vapor cloud.

  • @eimaibazo vapor cloud has nothing to do with breaking the sound barrier

  • @Sleepyhead54 The pressure rise due to the high velocities, traps the air and condenses it, into the form of vapor. the condensed air accumulates in front of the sound barrier due to the force field that the sonic waves excert, traping it there...As the speed of the plane increases, its sonic wave is moving towards its tail, and so does the vapor... Finally on braking the barrier the sound waves are widening circularly behind the plane. Without the sonic force field the vapor cloud disapears.

  • correction, just because there are vapor cones it does not mean it broke the sound barrier. more generally put, they appear at transonic speeds. thank you

  • @Sleepyhead54 youre welcome

  • Comment removed

  • @Sleepyhead54 Corrections...The water molecules in the atmosphere get condensed. Not the air itself. Thats why the cloud was that visible, as it was so close to the sea (high humidities etc). Plus. by force field, i mean the wave energy of the sound made by the plane. due to the sound-barrier velocities, the sound waves dont get time to expand forward, and so they create an energy curtain that acts like a barrier to to the air. The air gets between "the anvil and the hammer" and condenses.

  • @cono2627

??? actually that is breaking the sound barrier. the vapor cloud is only when the solid or plane in this case is traveling so fast, that the mixture of water and air cannot be separated do to BREAKING THE BARRIER aka going faster than santa. and it only breaks the barrier by a little because the plane is only a couple of feet past the back of the boat when u begin to hear the plane... physics bud :) and i am going to the navy to work on these bishes, or fly them...

  • @vectormission vapor cloud has nothing to do with breaking the sound barrier

  • @cono2627 also as the plane reaches lower to the ground, and directly above the water, the air is much thicker, making the vapor cloud very easy to creat

  • @cono2627 Why is there even a vapour cloud at all?

  • fantastic <3

  • it so great!!

  • There's actually a double sonic boom, two pops.

  • Shit duds. id shit my pants if i was in there.

  • SONIC BOOM! Pretty amazing phenomenon..

  • I love how he just comes sneaking in and then suddenly BOOOM

  • he isnt sneaking, he comes so fast that the sound comes several hundred feet behind.

  • @sharpya380 NO FUCKING SHIT

  • cool

  • I'd study, but I have no reason to because I can spell.

Also, it's not every day I go around wondering about speed.

  • whoooohooooooo

  • It's actually from the pressure building on the front of the plane causing a boom then the rapid compression of the negative pressure behind the jet.

  • fucking amazing man i wonder what it feel like for the pilot or dose he feel any thing

  • 333 meters in second is the speed of sound..

  • oh my gosh....how fast was that thing going....????

  • I believe they said around 850

  • @kimklieger no 1300km/t

  • Uh no. Sound travels at 767 mph. He just BROKE the sound barrier, meaning he just accellerated above 767 mph.

  • he probably broke the sound barrier way before "just". The boom you here is a continouisly shock wave, so you hear it only as a boom but keeps on going as long as the plane goes supersonic. So it's not that he broke the sound barrier the moment you hear the boom

  • Notice the vapor cones though. They happen right before a plane breaks the sound barrier. As soon as the vapor cones stop, we hear the boom.

  • No.. You can see the cones when it already passed you.. Because if it was like you've said You would be the only person in the world who can see the cones. the person standing 1 mile away can't see any cones because it already passed you.. it doesn't make any sence..

The cones are visible when the aircraft flies some faster or some slower than Mach 1.0.

  • What the fuck are you saying?

  • that you were talking bullshit

  • @Flamboyant8 vapor cones have nothing to do with the sound barrier

  • U need to study lol

  • how many mph?

  • I believe they said around 850

  • THAT F/A-18 WAS BOOKIN. I wish i was there to feel the depth of the sonic boom and the delay effect.

  • I wonder if i would become embeded to the ground as it flew over me...

  • Nice! Two sonic booms. Best one I've seen yet!
