  • AWSOME!!! im learning this piece also! i wonder if u could give me any tips on how practice my Voice leading for this song?

  • @CorelliChopin08

I am so sorry to reply this late, somehow I decided to check unread comments and it's overwhelming. You've probably already mastered the piece by this time haha. Still need advice?

  • Hi! I haevn't been playing for very long either. I have had about four years of piano training total, two of those being more serious. And I just thought I would say that your musicality in this performance is incredible and I hope you know that your tone production/quality surpasses your years. I myself am now a piano performance major after years of intesne "catch-up". Just keep practicing!

  • Beautiful

  • @k0it123

    Thank you

    Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • I couldn't imagine having 16 year old girl hands and playing this piece lol, good work.

Less pedal in a lot of places would've been greatly appreciated. Also, pay attention to the dynamics. In the main utterance of the theme you go at least as loud as "mf" in the second bar. There are a few other places with slips. It actually takes away from the build up to your climax on the second page.

All in all, some good work here.

  • @ProkofievRules

Teacher here - just thought I'd point out that camcorders constantly normalize audio, so quiet spots sound much louder than they are, while louder spots sound quieter. This is ideal for recording speech, but terrible for recording music. FYI, she was very quiet in the first bars of the piece.

  • I thought it was a pretty mature performance, but it seemed as if you never released the sustain pedal, because at times it got very blurry, am I wrong? Well done nonetheless :)

  • one small detail, I don't think you're playing the two big arpegiated chords at the end correctly; you might wanna play the first 4 notes with your left hand, the next 4 with your right hand, and the last 2 with your left hand crossing over your right. Also, you should have played a B allong with the G at 1:19, the B being played by your right hand while your left plays the G, but you've probably already corrected this if you took note of nematodex' comment!

  • Thank you for the feedback!

I'm still practicing this piece (much better), preparing for a competition this coming Feb.

So if you have any other suggestions...Please! I take them all :D

  • Maybe you could record a new version of this song as you say you have improved a lot, and then I could see if I still have some suggestions to make :)

  • wow!!!

  • Pretty cool! I think you will improve your technique the next years continuously. Furthermore I think because of the fact you are playing only 3 years you are very mature in understanding this music. Thats good. If you look closely in your music you will find some helpful written things like m.s. or m.d.. For example in 1:19 and 1:25 you can play each g-a-g with the left hand. Thats more easier playing..... Greetings from Germany!

  • thanks very much!!!

  • "please point out any weaknesses"

The only weakness I found was a few missed notes, but I thought the interpretation was very good. Sometimes I get carried away in the loud middle section. Good job controlling it.

  • Yea, I completely agree! My technique is definitely not there yet...

    Thank you for your comment

  • Well, if you truly have only been taking instruction for only three years, that is fantastic. No way I could have played this piece after only three years.

  • I played by myself just for fun for about 6 years and under formal training for 3 years.

well as long I have the desire to learn, I can pretty much play it...without the perfect technique though :D

  • rachmaninoff is not so difficult..

  • What a ridiculous statement. This particular piece by Rach is not the most difficult, but Rach's pieces range the whole spectrum of difficulty.

  • three years for learn to play this piece ??!

  • It didn't take her three years to learn the piece. She has only been playing piano under formal training for three years.

  • To be playing Rachmoninoff after only three years of training is PHENOMINAL!
