I saw this at he video store all the time when I was a kid... had I known it was the sequel to The Deadly Spawn, I surely would have givn it a rent or two.

This is the sequel to the 1989's Metamorphosis. Return of the Alien's Deadly Spawn had no sequels.

You are completely and totally wrong. Have you ever even *seen* the George Eastman METAMORPHOSIS? It's an Italian film that was made the same year.
This film was originally shot under the title DEADLY SPAWN 2: THE METAMORPHOSIS, Ted A. Bohus produced both films and openly discussed it being a sequel to RETURN OF THE ALIEN'S DEADLY SPAWN in interviews back in '89.

True. There are movies that are much worse than this one. Dream Home or Dream House (I can't remember which) is probably about as bad as you can get.
