  • BIS BIS BIS!!!

  • 3:36 one of the best moments of this video....i like that :)

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • EXTRAORDINAR!!! GREAT COMPOSITION!!!

  • No auto-tune needed.

  • @Angel23725 Thank you Angel23725, I've been tempted, and tested. The demons do run, and those who would seek to lead me astray from the straight and narrow path of righteousness fail again and again....I want my whole life to glorify His name!! For me, and so that others may feel His love through me and see how it's changing my life. I am truly greatly blessed and highly favored! I thank you for your words too, we must all continuously build up each other as well. Thank you! God Bless you!

  • It looks like the early parts of the this video clip were in the Dean Smith Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina.

Awesome song, nonetheless. It really makes a pertinent point. People who wear "crosses" or religious symbols for fashion aren't getting the real meaning of what the cross means. We Christians acknowledge the cross as the pinnacle point of our salvation...the fact that a sinless Savior gave His life on that cross for our salvation.

  • I recommitted my life to Christ yesterday, and I've been so full of joy ever since. My life isn't in the best shape lately(academically, financially), but by starting over on a renewed faith, I have no doubt that whatever happens, and has happened, will be to benefit and glorify God.

  • My observation of MWS journey with God through the years is this, there is a change in his music style. He is writing/playing more Praise and Worship songs than pop. This message is great however, his current music is richer of meaning, more edifing to Jesus. Richer. MWS is blessed. jmo

Peace and Love in Jesus \o/

  • Such a great writer, Love the message!

  • Tony Palcacios on e.guitar. Total stud shredder. Check out his solo stuff.

  • Wow, I never knew Smitty had so much fun. :)

  • This song is so awesome. The beat alone is enough to put you in a spiritual high in a matter of seconds. Did for me. Can't get enough of it.

  • @RunitePikachu it gave me a literal high

  • I like the backup dancers. They're cool!

  • Love that organ player - what a maniac !!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • .... Smith has talent and I believe that God has used her life to speak to many.

  • Roger Sause on keys.. what a talent!! Steve Brewster on the skins... he's been with Smitty for some time now, another great talent. But I really don't understand why Smitty thinks he needs background dancers lol

  • the light operators doesn't know how to play with the songs!

  • @ Willmuzik I just love hypocritical christians who judge others on the way they act and always complaining not just about the way others do things but about their own christian brothers and sisters, before you start complaining about others lets see you do it better job .

i have nothing against the good christians, the others need to practice what they preach and shut the hell up,you holier than s.o.b.s

  • very genesis :) turn it on again etc.

  • hahahaha i love the head banging right at the end XD...the nineties were so cool...huehuehuehue

  • that's FREAKING RIGHT. smitty's music is still great and more amazing with every song but come on!! these were his greatest days!!!!!!

  • At one time thought he was hot stuff .

  • i remember watching these concerts and they were the stuff! watching this now, man so corny...can't belive this used to be so freakin cool....

  • what the heck this is stilll FREAKING AWESOME STUFF.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! CAN YOU HELP ME UNDERSTAND WHY YOU THINK THIS KIND OF STUFF IS CORNY NOW?!?!? HAHA I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU THINK THAT.......

  • Yes, soon my 3 concerts with Michael W Smith are complete downloaded and I'm looking forward to watch them :D

  • 5:23 great moment to underline the line "why you wear the cross of gold"

  • I like Michael W Smith too and he is a great great singer and artists :D To bad I wasn't there and experienced his Change Your World concert :( That's why I download this concert currently and two others of MWS concerts hehe :D

  • I'm looking forward when my 3 Michael W Smith concerts are completed downloaded :D They are converted from VHS and Laser Disks to DVD :D

They are The Big Picture Tour, MWS in Concert and Change Your World Live :D

  • Awesome! Takes me way back! Thx for posting.

  • I just bought this album on CD, and let me tell you, this song is incredible and very powerful. It's a great message. Love it!

  • uhuu very nice....y'm dancing now

  • ha! i have this on video!but when y listen 2 friends, it makes me sad that he's not as famous and not as young and awesome as before. it sucks! people r soooooooooo jacked up these days! even when mw smith dies, his legacy will live on no matter what! he owns christian music1 it sounds awesome when he sings it! people r just tooo stupid to pay attentio to 90's music 'cuz it's old and they think they won't fit in. but my mom raised me w/ this music, and now i'm 12 and it's too addicting to let go

  • I hear ya! Try to listen to the Live Set from 1987, IMO the best christian live album ever recorded.

  • haha i was raised on it too and im 19XD i dont think his music will ever die out its waaaay too good to even if your not a christan

  • This set of questions is among the most hitting I've ever encountered. It made me stop and think - man, are you really doing it like God expects you to?

And there's that absolutely ingenious wordplay: "are you holding the key or are you intending to pick the lock of heaven's gate"

  • There is one videoclip with Michael W Smith I want to see and its' from his song Voices :) It's not here :'( I like that song too :)

  • I'm glad now I found a web site with M W Smith stuffs to download :) Some of his albums and some concerts hehe :)

  • Cool! could you tell me the web site!

  • You who asked who was playing Synth next to M W Smith I thinks it's Mark Helmemann, but there are other from this concert who are playing Synth/Keyboards and they are Mike Lawler, Trace Scarborough and Scott Macleod :)

  • I haven't this concert on VHS :( But I have this song on cassett and from M W Smith album Change your world :) It's not only you Americans who like Michael Whittaker Smith :) I'm from Aalesund in Norway and have 5-6 albums of M W Smith hehe :)

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • Great Song!!! Even if he admits that he got inspired by early 80s: Genesis/Yes songs that couldn't get out of his head. I still love this song as its relevant to this very day.

  • Yes/Genesis made great music. Wish he used those influences more. He could have made a great progressive rock album had he wanted to.

  • Genesis and Yes are both awesome. As well, he had a ton of Alan Parsons Project and Bryan Adams influence in his 80s/early 90s tunes.

  • Thanks for the good videos in youtube!!!

  • THIS SONG is as true today as when he first wrote/recorded it!

  • I saw this in San Diego. SO fun to look back.

  • I saw this concert in Auburn Hills, MI. It was awesome! I still like Smitty today, but I really do miss the "rock out" side of him.

  • i wore this VHS tape out when i was a kid!!

i have sat here this morning re-living my childhood :-)

  • Awesome! Michael's songs touch my heart... Thank you.

  • This song ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!....The Cross the Highest Icon we have in our Christian faith. Through it we learn that in dying, there is LIFE!.

  • I miss the late 80's early 90's :c

  • Yes-like - great ending ! great song

  • best song ever!!!

  • This is even better than the album version. Seems more powerful.

  • change your world is the best MWS album. i used to have em all though. he was my idol when i was young

  • Great vid. Michael W. Smith is one of my favorite artists and I got to tell you, he's def. one of the greatest Christian Rock singers of all time. Go SMITTY!

  • houseofyahweh u re right but is not is the whole music of today that is not te same ... we fall into a rap era :O i wish to back to 80'- 90 again

  • what's with the horns? I love this song...it sounds VERY Chicago 19. Is it a Diane Warren song though? I love the horns--Smitty would be a good frontman for Chicago like Cetera was.

  • Hello :) Yeah I agree and I loves Michael W Smith music too and yesterday I was listen to his cd's The Big Picture and Eye 2 eye again and he is good :) If any one want write to me it would be nice :) I have 4 albums of him and they are The Big Picture, Eye 2 eye, Change your world and Worship :) I loves God and Jesus :) God and Jesus bless you all and they loves ya

  • For all the porn site, sending in crap loads of junk. Get the hell of this website. This site is intended for Christians, (and Christians) to converse, and trade testimonies and accounts. Do your pathetic porn thing at your own computer, STOP!!! Spreading those into Christian sites!!!

  • Actually, this site is for everyone to converse.

You should probably stop painting Christianity as an exclusive country club.

If I came to this link as a non-Christian, I'd be quite offended by that.

  • I don't think he was trying to say Christianity was a country club, just that we don't want spammers on our websites who are advertising their sinful websites. We are all sinners, that's why Christ died for our sins, so that we may be forgiven and made whole.

  • Amen.

  • This is a great song. I loved Michael W. Smith's old songs. Don't care much for his newer ones though.

  • Yes, I loved Big Picture, Go West Young Man and the other early 90s albums...his newer albums just aren't the same.

  • That's Tony Palacios of Guardian on guitar. Definitely a monster guitar player although this song doesn't really show what he's all about. He toured with Smitty back in 91 or whenever this was.

  • Thanks dude, I always wondered who he was. He seems like a cool guy & a great guitarist. Take Care

  • I love this song and I think Michael W. Smith is awesome!

  • I adore MWS...and love his accent.

  • Gosh, what a band. Who is playing the drums?

  • That would be Mr. Steve Brewster. Look and listen for him when you can. A truely talented individual.

  • Question: Do you know who´s playing the pianos besides Michael w. smith? Who is he?

    Thanks, Peace!

  • Sorry, I do not know who is playing the keys besides michael.

  • i love michael w smith and i love this song michael w smith is my favorite singer

  • well i love this smitty songs the words are awesome

  • Smitty is all about the quality tunes...his direction has changed because he's going after making God number 1 and bringing people to the throne of worship....

  • If I want cheesey neo-christian music, I'll stick to the Newsboys. They at least make some quality tunes. <_<

  • cross of gold wat a classic. this live performance was electrifying wat a band he hand out too!!

  • I'm always amazed to see Smitty on stage. He's just a raw musician following his faith, not his bank book. This is one of my favorite songs he's ever written.
