  • Are you speaking ASL or BSL in the video. I speak fluent ASL and I understood quite a great deal of what you are saying.

  • BSL.

  • I guess ASL, BSL, Auslan do have a root source from where it all derives from. Then again, there are just some words that can really only be signed in one particular way cuz it's just too obvious not to.

  • He's not 'speaking' ASL nor BSL... he's signing. You 'speak' fluent ASL? Do explain how one 'speaks' a sign communication system/language! Cheers!

  • lol I am the same way when people do that. It bugs me it's almost as bad as if someone says they want to know what flavor shampoo something is people sometimes AHHHHH eek.

Thank you for having your video up, BSL looks so complicated to me because I use SEE and ASL

  • I guess we are not suposed to know what you are saying until we learn sign language and then we will know what you are saying. Right?

  • Nobody EVER understands what I'm saying... signing or not! ha ha :)

  • Lol ^-^

  • good to hear you learnt BSL when very young, my nephew is picking some up, he is 11 years old & doing well. That's encouraging - must show him.

  • That's awesome! I'm from the States...(America) and I use ASL to converse.... I do find a lot fo similiarities with ASL & BSL.. it's quite fascinating! I had to read his lips in order to understand what he was saying. I must say that Irish Sign Language is very similar to ASL. I've met a person in Ireland and chatted with her. I was amazed that we can communicate!

  • Hey your signing is good, good expressions. How long you been learning? Yes, finger spelling is one of the hardest parts, especially receptive skills. Am.

  • See my reply below to littleimp73. Thanks.

  • Im hearing but Im trying to learn sign language because I think its an important way to communicate and im finding it quite fun. I wish I could understand what you said, Ive just started though so I guess Ill have to keep practasing.

  • where did you learn BSL?

  • A good friend of mine taught me when I was very young, then I went to college to get the exam certificates, and finally I went to work for the Deaf Society in my hometown. Many years ago though as I now live in Spain.

  • hi, it's really nice that you put this video out.

    I'm currently doing level 1, and i've just done my 101 i think people don't understand that it isnt a race to sign fast, people don't understand that way;

    anyway i'll shutup now lol

    xx

  • I'm doing level one too ! ^^

I think it looks silly when people sign fast, too - like when people speak fast, and you just miss it completely.

  • Big thanks for your feedback, goes a long way to help keep me motivated! Many thanks! :-) Bobbie xx
