The reason it takes so long to start up is because it has a whole (computerised) opperating system on it, unlike the iphone which is simple (one thing at a time) It has a lot to load. To be honest, why do you ever need to restart your phone apart from a big update or replacing battery, sim card etc... Apart from that you shouldn't ever need to restart it. Btw iphone takes ages too.

No the Palm Pre Plus will not be faster at all because it uses the same processor. The RAM doesn't help start up time

If you owned this phone you would know that after the 2 min boot-up you really don't need to restart again until an upgrade. (unlike most other phones that require weekly reboots)

I had the Iphone 3gs 32 gb a week ago and sold it , until iphone plan goes down or it goes to a dif carrier then i might go back but I did get pre on sprint and so far its awsome !

i've restarted my pre twice in the 3 months i've owned it. in the two minutes of your life that you might have lost during that time, i used that time to pick a bunch of wildflowers from my garden, read three chapters of pride and prejudice to my daughter, and earn a graduate degree from an ivy league university.
