I thought this was a well-known film. I'm surprised to hear that people are discovering it because of Aphex Twin, but then again I could be misreading people's comments.
This movie is about 40 years old and I do not think it would be unusual, nowadays, to lick paper that have certain fruit tastes. Very interesting and outdated. Though still a wonderful film.
@TheJW84 only on "nephatiti" by 808 state and "we are the music makers" (doh) by aphex twin but i bet there are much more great tracks out there. somebody should make a list of it.
I have heard few words as profound as those in this clip. "We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of the dreams." If you have a fire in your heart to create any form of art then these are the words to live by. I've never heard of a snozberry but by god I would love to try one!
this movie is envious of retorts like this....there is something esle he says which is awesome.... when someone is talking too much e says "you should open up your mouth a little widder next time you talk"
i dunno, i didn't care for the remake. not that i thought someone could have done it better than depp, i just thought they should have left well enough alone.
The Burton film wasn't a remake, it was based entirely off the book without taking any inspiration from this version. While I'm not a big fan of Burton I will say that his version was far more faithful to Dahl's book.

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems. . .

@leftfingerFPSB This is from a wonderful poem by Arthur O'Shaughnessy:
WE are the music-makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers Of the world for ever, it seems.
