Go to quakeone.com and look up small mod compilation, and Animated reflecting overload. You will be amazed, trust me. It makes Darkplaces' particle effects look amazing, adds reflections to objects and volumetric fog, and weather effects.

@TheHaedar Ok I assume you've found a copy of the original quake 1 pak files because that's where the actual game content is at this other stuff is just add ons to make it look better. I kind of doubt your systems ability to play this without a decent graphics processor. You might get it to run without the texture pack and messing around with the settings. I don't mess around with laptops though. My specs from this recording were:
