What does 'shotty' mean?

Society is addicted to the misfortune of others. We watched the space shuttle explode over & over again, the moment the astronauts were incinerated. We watched the planes hit the twin towers, then collapse a thousand times over. We sat glued to the TV when terrorists attacked the London underground & blew up a train & bus.

Pulling a 4x4 out of a harbour is hardly in the same league & not something to offer up rhetoric or sarcasm about.
