In this boss I just use the cross as subweapon.

the boss in this level just don't know what to do, he freezes as you throw the holy water at him.

What I usually do different: I like to go up the stairs on 2:17 and throw one holy water down on the knight, that's a lot easier to me.

Also on 2:58, I prefer to move left until the fish heads blink. I then jump the first fireball straight up, then the second one towards the heads, holy water, whip spam and there I go. I think it's easier to pull off than to destroy the fire.

I'm actually sort of proud of myself for figuring out most of this stage on my own. What I learned is to get the triple throw and how to get past the flea men at the very beginning. That corridor right before the boss is really basterdly.

Some people may say it's cheating to spam holy water - I don't. It's REALLY tough to keep it until you fight Death, especially since any four hits on this stage kill you.

Can you really throw holy water that fast because when I play it on Virtual console it takes a long pause before I can use another one.

That long pause is the normal speed, i.e. without any power-ups.

There are power-ups that grants you faster throwing:

Watch the video again, notice how besides the hearts and lives is blank at first, then where I pick up the 'Double Throw' (Shows as Roman numeral II), then 'Triple Throw' (Shows as Roman numeral III)

Great job, and I don't think using holy water on the boss is cheating. IMO it is REALLY tough to make it through the entire level without dying, and since the holy water is only guaranteed at the beginning of the level, it is quite tough to make to the boss with it.

WIth that said... I am stuck on this level... for a long time... hopefully watching this video will help me get through it! Thanks for posting!

@fredy385 Naw...Holy Water freezes enemies in place. If you have the Triple Throw, you can beat any boss by just spamming holy water.

This level and the last one are the hardest. I haven't yet passed this level. It's so important to have your life meter on FULL and have items ready to use especially holy water, sword, cross. I hate that when enemies touch you you lose a lot from your life meter!
