@nycewheels ok thanks thats great. how much would shipping cost on a dahon vitesse to ireland can you tell me or would i have to go on and go through the checkout to find out, sorry to bother you. thanks
I just bought this bike, looking forward to commuting on it. I am lucky that my house and workplace are near the canal so I can ride along the canal path and avoid most of the roads.
Wow, thanks for making this video. My boyfriend and I just bought latest model of this bike and it arrives in a couple days. Now we have a video to go to if we have issues!
Certainly a wonderful design...if I may make a suggestion that it be designed to fold so that it can be wheeled around like a suitcase. That way it could be used as a cart for back pack or other while walking around. Just a suggestion, but one that will sell more bikes and get more folks riding when not walking....Open your mind and the money will come! Let me know if this works to inspire anything...
Thanks for the great video! I've seen some really great news stories about David Byrne, who takes a folding bike with him to cities all over the world when he's on a concert tour. Cool! (yes, this is a "true story")
Man can't decide on this (vitesse) or the Uno...commuting in the city mostly (av 40 km a week in the summer) with the occasional (i.e. twice a year) trip to some national park just over 30 km from the centre.
@sacredsoma I'd say if you have to deal with any sort of semi-steep/steep hills you should get a folding bike with gears. The Uno is a lot of fun for cruising but I think it would suffer a bit if there were a lot of hills. -Peter
Great bike and I just had my regular city bike stolen so need a new one. I just wanted to know, how safe is the bike when going over bumps and stuff, will the quickrelease stuff hold it together and not "let go"?
Is it ok to get up to a decent speed, say 25kmt or does the small wheels and only 3 gears limit this?
@barath4545 Dahon folding bikes are very reliable, no way a hinge would let go by accident. Each hinge actually has a safety built in which must be moved before the hinge can open. The Vitesse actually has 7 gears and is great for commuting in the city. -Peter
@wudaman2000 The first is leaving the 87th and Lexington subway station, the next two are in Carl Shulz park on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Nice huh? -Peter
@nycewheels I figured the 1st one at the train station. I never knew about that park. It looks nice. things have changed. 1 more decade and the train line will be there. The videos are nice. Great stuff. Now the IF MODE is one sweet toy. Wish it was cheaper.
@wudaman2000 The IF Mode is all about style and beauty, a real eye catcher. We've been selling out of them lately but just got another shipment in. Stop by the shop to test ride one and say hi! -Peter
I have the Dahon Vitesse d7hg. Great bike all round. I have been riding it to and from work (using the metro) for about 4 months now. About a 13klm ride both ways. When using the metro, I do things a bit different when folding. I fold everything you say, except he seat. I keep that in an upright position and use it to roll the bike instead of carrying it. Just be sure you roll it only forwards, as rolling it backwards, will cause the pedal to lock up against the frame. Thanks for the vid
@pboudouris Thanks for the tip, sounds like a nice commute. It's always great to have an alternative to carrying the bike everyday. Keep it up and enjoy the bike!
and im guessing the price is above $800
