waste of money!it turned my 04,5.3,into a pile of junk, that wont idle!dmv is saying i have to smog my truck(for the first time) and i am afraid that because of the $360 waste of $ i might fail the test.as for "tech support" it sounded like i was bothering the guy in the middle of a case of beer.if i NEED to contact "tech support", its kinda wrong.maybe you can help me out?for now i am MFING hypertech to all of my friends family.need some help here,HYPERTECH !
@308scoutrfl The idle trims may have reset after reprogramming. This has to do with the throttle body not opening enough for a proper idle. What can happen is that the throttle blade and housing can get caked up with EGR residue. What we've seen work in the past is to remove the air intake tube and thoroughly wipe out this black gunk with a rag with carb cleaner on it. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of dollars, and should fix the problem. If not, please call in to the Tech Line again.
i just got the max energy and have rediculous problems now. my engine idles rediculously low to the point it will die if i put it into gear. i hope hypertech can fix this. i do not want to go to the dealer
I have a 2004 6.0 GMC Savana. 1. What's the difference between the Power Programmer III, the Max Energy, and the Econ? 2. Do any of these remove or reduce GM's "Torque Management" where it retards the timing just before and after each shift? I have the PPIII but there is no mention of "Torque Management" although this is mentioned and documented all over the internet. 3. Do any of the above let you choose to lock the converter sooner and keep it locked when you let off the gas?
This truck is shown being tuned on the dyno, tested at the track, and tested while towing over 9,000lbs (truck + trailer).
You're not going to get that from some "tuner" at a shop with a Dynojet. That much time would cost you more than what it costs to buy a Max Energy or even an Econ. That's a lot of work to make a tune. I haven't seen any other tuning company (custom or otherwise) provide this kind of detail.
yah true but with the handheld you can adjust other things such as how your transmission shifts and you can calibrate your speedometer w bigger tires .......
also a 08 6.0L gas owner... definitely going to check out hypertech. not that i have any complaints about the stock power. my only gripe is about the tranny shift points.
Are you sure there is not some other problem with your truck? Have you contacted tech support? I've driven one of these trucks tuned vs stock and its a night and day difference.
nice i drive a gas hd. this is nice to see. some trucks are fueled by gas. my truck pulls everything i ask it to, it works hard. i know the turck can haul more than 9k way more. i do agree i do not think that truck weighs that much.
thanks for putting out the video, all you see these days is diesel stuff, I have a new style 6.0 and really like it. Imagine if you coupled the tuner with nice catback setup (which is what I plan on doing). I wonder if that is really over 9,000 lbs, though, the truck only weighs around 6,000 lbs I think? Will the tuner remove the speed limiter too, cause mine tops out at 95-97 or something like that.
Nothing like a shitty canned tune...

Really....hand helds are junk. A mail order custom tune is half the price and 2 to 3 times the horsepower gain. I am a chevy fan, but not a hypertech

@guitarbeastasmpro True you can But you cant do it on the go or anything, With a chip you can just plug it in right there.

true but with the custom tune its a whole new computer no need for a chip even

It doesn't give you the ability to remove it, but you can set it so high that you will never have to worry about hitting the speed limiter.

the truck weighs just over 8
