  • Pure love. No ego. Pure music. Perfect. O goosebumps..

  • Doesn't it feel marvelous, beyond compare, unearthly beauty...

  • Ditto...OH MY GOODNESS...

  • That is the face of intensity. This was a guy who loved what he did.

  • Bach was within him...

  • Listening to this piece gives me goose bumps for seven minutes. Emotional orgasm.

  • Heavenly ...

  • Words? :')

  • YOU THE MAN, GLENN!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there a studio version of this? I find that sometimes there are inconsistencies with the recording in live versions. This is good to though

  • So emotional with strong rhythm! I love it :)

  • Beauty. It is a sin to rush this piece as so many others do. Glenn gets it. Like the other person said this takes my worries away..

  • god i love the trills so much :)

  • Glenn is just incredible. He is one of a kind. It's interesting, this recording has the 2nd movement played more slowly than another recording on YouTube. I like it this way so much better.

  • Some pianists race through the third movement to show their prowess and technical brilliance. I think Gould, however, has selected the optimal tempo both to demonstrate the piece's relentlessness and the richness of the harmonies within. If it's played too fast we tend to lose the subtleties of the piano, especially the strong left hand that Gould is so good at. There is a confidence and assuredness to Gould's left hand that makes it easy to follow the line, that's where the harmonies are.

  • OMG... I love this crazy Glenn Gould so much who died of a stroke with 50 - yes, there's a devil around us and he's a strong one indeed!

  • Une petite merveille...repos de l'esprit..que c'est délicieux!!!

  • He's a mad scientist on the keys!!

  • If a person is lucky - very lucky - they may hear one or two songs in their lifetime that resonate deep within their soul. This is one that will live with me until I die.

  • Takes all my worries away......

  • Glenn Gould at his very best.

  • Dear Glenn! I hope you know we are still listening.

  • Sounds great but I prefer this be played in harpsichord, instead of a piano. It sounds more baroque.

  • there are 170 people that know about really good performances and 4 that don't know anything about it

  • why is he sitting like that? is he "feeling" the music? lol

  • @Thelavendel hahahaha, of course he feels the music. Just go and see more video's of soloists

  • There has never been an equal to this man's performance, in my opinion. I've loved this 'version' for so long that it's ruined any of the others for me (delightedly so, for it's the utter beauty of it that captures). THANK YOU!!!! I hadn't heard this, my favourite 'version', in many many years. So much love your way for posting this masterpiece... x

  • thank you. i looked for a long time for this.

  • furmamala, thank you so much for uploading it. Did you upload the first movement as well?

  • Love the way he puts his hands back on his knees at the end of each phrase, at the beginning of 2nd movement.

  • @stmaur0 yeah, a sort of reset.

    Thanks furmamala for sharing this.

  • I see there are to people who dislike this.

I am so happy to be able to see a genius at work.

Thank you for posting this clip.

  • how it's possible that there are 2 dislike?

  • YES!

  • I'm in tears...thank you for posting.

  • What a genius...

  • lindo lindo lindo lindo!

  • Do you have the 1st movement? Thank you SO MUCH!

  • The best performance ever!!!!!!!!

  • this is the best interpretation of bach piano concerto no. 5, largo. Now I know why GG was, has been, is, will be the one of the greatest pianist. My heart is completely connected on this piece by him. With this connection I haven't had while I was listening to his Bach Goldberg Variations performance, all I can say is amen.

  • I am not a big GG fan, but this is very beautiful. For those who would like to hear another fabulous version, give Edwin Fisher a listen. Search Bach Piano Concerto No.5 in F minor, BWV1056 (2) in youtube.

  • ... our mind must have a soul all of its own, I guess :)

  • This is his most emotional playing of Bach in my opinion. It's so graceful and the melody sings out so well. Wow!

  • such a young lad.

  • B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

  • Speechless GG is not from this world......he manage with his music and interpretation to reach deep in your soul, in places you know you have but no one dares to go.....

  • Whoaaaa! That was great. Thanks to the uploader.

  • this is my favorite song from bach!

  • I think the reason for less hits is the title. I search 'Glenn Gould Arioso' to get to this. He is so good!

  • Glen Gould has the most beautiful version of this music...

  • A palpable sensation of life melting away, an audible cry of soul in the bosom of this Godly ocean... Absolutely beautiful.

  • Cette video est bouleversante! G. Gould habite totalement la musique de Bach et la sublime. Merci!

  • Glenn Gould è un genio e sa dare emozioni profonde. Un'esecuzione che è un capolavoro

  • So perfect. So sublime

Glenn Gould is Canada best pianist and the best Bach soloist

  • Che meraviglia!!!

  • GG's emotional performance especially in the orchestral section is visually arresting. Look how he restrains himself from going on top of the piano.

  • this is for sure not the matching video to the music. but anyways this recording of Bach's concerto in f minor is breathtaking and Glenn Gould is at his very best. PURE MAGIC!

  • @coesterr This for sure is the matching video to the music. No other performance would be 100% synchronised.

  • A gem of a find!

    Thanks for uploading, furmamala :-)

  • wow ! fuck ! so beautiful !

    thanks a lot !!!!

  • LIKE HOLY FUQIN SHIT!

  • Oh my goodness....

  • Are you kidding me!? Where did you find this? Where is it from?

  • This is good

  • How can this not have more hits?

  • quite a classic, thank you!

  • Very nice! When was it performed? i think in the early fifties

  • Absolutely Beautiful !
