@barryenright2320 by watching live videos of them, i figured it was in C# tuning. maybe it's because of the fact that jeremy used a 5-string bass in standard tuning on the past days so he tuned it to D or C# tuning.

This is actually a really good cover. What ever tab you using is wayy better than the ones on ultimate guitar. the only thing that sounds wrong is the second root in the chorus. But other than that, AWESOME :3

Tab? I didnt put up a tab of this song. Also yes the tuning is wrong but the notes are right. Its been transposed to Drop D from the original tuning of drop Db. The notes are the same, although when recording this video i do believe my bass was slightly out of tune so it sounds slightly off.

Played reasonably well... but, I have to say, aside from a couple of select parts, it's quite a boring bass line. I'm a bassist myself (more into bands like Muse, Tool, APC, Mudvayne) and I can kinda see why this line got buried in the levels. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying it SHOULD have been buried in the levels, but it doesn't exactly drive the song.

IF he does use C# tuning then its unusual and I cant see why he would want to do this because the guitars im 100000% certain are tuned C#,g#,c#,f#,a#,d# . aka drop C# tuning or drop d a semi tone down.

@paramayday so C sharp tuning is different from Drop C? I find it's more easier to look at the guitarist chords and go by them and only interchanging by going sharper or flatter :)

@barryenright2k320 commonly...you can play all songs in one formatted tuning...I played "A Love Like Winter" "Debaser" "Help, I'm Alive" with just drop C (CGCF) tuning, so easy but it's just a question of effect, like if you were to take an electric guitar to the forest and pluck a high note it wouldn't be heard however if you go back with a bass in drop c and pluck the top C string it would be heard

the lower the note played in intonation the lesser length of the soundwave

if you use a good EQ with your mediaplayer/ipod/whatever you use, then you could listen to the bass enough, that's what i do and damn this song is great on bass

But why can't they just make it so we hear it to begin with... When I listen to the police, pepper, radiohead, red hot chili peppers, i hear the bass fine but once I listen to alt rock, pop rock, the bassist does not exist if you know what i mean.

Its a production decision. Theirs a place for everything in the mix depending on the style of music played. In red hot chilli's etc the music revolves around the bass more therefore it needs to be louder. For paramore the main melodies are in the vocals so that will be the loudest etc.
